Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 — The Siege

The first Envoys broke through the clouds, spears of judgment aimed at the Hall's spires.

Spirit Masters unleashed barriers of jade and lightning, but the divine assault tore through them like paper.

Liu Feng rose above the courtyard, wings of fire unfurling behind him — not feathers, but streams of energy shaped by will.

Each beat cracked the air.

He met the first Envoy head-on. Their weapons collided, divine light versus genesis flame, and the impact carved a crater miles wide.

Then he moved again — faster than thought, flame curling into sigils that sealed the next wave in mid-air.

BiBi Dong stood below, chanting the Oath of Balance. Her power fused with his, anchoring him as the siege intensified.

Hundreds of Envoys fell, burning into motes of silver ash.

But from above, a larger presence descended — a Divine Archon, wings spanning the horizon, halo fractured by cracks of dark light.

Its voice was a thousand echoes in one:

> "Mortal child. Cease the flame. The heavens will not permit creation to rewrite itself."

Liu Feng's answer was calm.

"I am not rewriting the heavens. I'm reminding them how to burn."

He lifted the Wingblade.

The world turned white.

When sight returned, the Archon was gone — shattered into fragments raining like snow.

The Hall stood, battered but alive.

The Genesis System whispered:

> [Objective complete: Divine Siege repelled.]

[Warning: System evolution irreversible. Next stage— Heaven's Trial.]

Liu Feng floated in silence. Around him, the air shimmered with the remnants of divine light and mortal flame interwoven — proof that something impossible had just been born.

Far away, beyond mortal sight, th

e gods stirred uneasily on their thrones.
