Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Tower of Trials

Still in his room, William pressed the Reincarnation Space tattoo on his forearm, now marked with a letter "C," and held it for a few seconds.

Immediately, he was transported to the Reincarnation Space Plaza, taking the form of his avatar.

This time, he did not appear in the quiet Safe Zone Plaza, but in the Tower of Trials Plaza.

Everything was different here. Around him, hundreds of people displayed astonishing abilities. Some were flying, others transformed into winged creatures or soared through the air on magical artifacts. I even saw someone riding a Firebolt!

The atmosphere was vibrant, full of energy, although many walked calmly, as if it were a daily routine, heading towards their respective destinations.

In addition, there were many shops. Some belonged to the Reincarnation Space itself, while others were managed by Reincarnated who traded items they had obtained in the dungeons.

Although I felt the temptation to head directly to the Floor 1 Dungeon, I restrained myself and walked towards the nearest store.

The store, though modest on the outside, was filled with items from the Safe Zone and the first floors of the Tower.

It seemed like the perfect place to get rid of everything I didn't plan to use from the Minecraft dungeon.

After patiently waiting in line, it was finally my turn at the counter. I was greeted with a warm smile.

"How can I help you? Buying or selling?" asked a kind-looking old man.

Seeing someone his age in the Reincarnation Space was unusual, but I quickly understood that he was an NPC created by the system itself to run the store.

"Selling," I replied calmly.

Instantly, I placed a chest full of gold ingots, diamonds, and emeralds on the counter, along with a brightly shining bow. It was an Enchanted Bow with Infinity and Mending.

It wasn't the same one I had used against the Dragon, but it was just as valuable.

As soon as I placed the objects, I noticed how some people around stopped in their tracks, turning their heads towards me, their eyes fixed on the treasures I had just displayed.

It was evident that they recognized the items from the Minecraft dungeon, and the fact that someone was selling so much valuable material in a single move did not go unnoticed.

Ignoring the stares, I waited for the NPC old man's offer, who began to review each item with mechanical precision.

"I can offer you 18 thousand reincarnation points for the minerals..." the old man said as he examined the gold ingots, diamonds, and emeralds.

Then, he gently lifted the enchanted bow, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of admiration and resignation.

"However," he continued, carefully observing the bow's shine, "I don't have enough reincarnation points to buy such a valuable item from you. An enchanted bow that generates its own arrows and repairs itself... is something an old man like me could never afford."

I sighed, noticing how the stares around me intensified after the old man's words.

However, I decided not to prolong the unnecessary attention any further. With a simple gesture, I put the bow away in my personal warehouse, moving it out of the sight of those present.

Then, I pointed to the gold ingots.

"I want to sell the gold ingots for real-world money. The rest, for Reincarnation Points," I indicated to the old man.

Although Reincarnation Points were useful, at that moment I was not in a rush to accumulate more. However, real-world money had a more important value for me right now.

Despite having spent all my points on improving my attributes, I needed money for the outside world.

My father, a man who has worked tirelessly for as long as I can remember, deserved a break.

With this, I could give him the vacation he had always deserved and needed. I owed it to him, and this would be my way of thanking him for everything he has done for me.

The diamonds and emeralds generated 11 thousand reincarnation points for me, a considerable sum that I already planned to use.

"I suggest you take the enchanted bow to the auction house," the old man said. "You could get a much higher sum for it there than anywhere else. Although, if you decide to keep it... you won't lack eager buyers."

I looked at him for a moment, thinking.

The truth is, going to the auction house was too much of a hassle. I would prefer to sell the bow in a store and save myself the trouble.

I wanted to start climbing the Tower of Trials as soon as possible...

However, I also didn't want to risk being scammed with a price far below its real value, so sooner or later I would have to make the effort to go through the auction house.

For now, I decided to leave the bow where it was, safely stored in my personal warehouse.

I would find a suitable buyer when I completed Floor 1 of the Tower of Trials, which, after all, was my next destination.

Upon leaving the store, I was almost instantly surrounded by a group of people who rushed towards me with excitement and desperation.

"You're Seth, right?!" shouted one, practically pushing me.

"Idiot! Of course, it's him! Can't you see all the stuff he has from the Minecraft dungeon?"

"Please, tell me the strategy to complete it! I'll pay you well!" pleaded another, nearly shoving me in their attempt to get my attention.

"Don't listen to him, sell it to me!" yelled someone else.

Then, someone blurted out what seemed to be the most absurd idea I had heard in the Reincarnation Space.

"You should publish the strategy for free so we can all use it! After all, it's a dungeon considered impossible!"

"Yes, he's right!" another chorused, as if it were the most logical thing in the world.

I felt my patience beginning to quickly disappear.

I was being bombarded with demands, as if they were entitled to ask something of me.

They wanted me to sell them the strategy? Okay, I understand. But... publish it for everyone? For free? What do they think they are?

"Are they high or what? If so, they should quit because it's not sitting well with them..." I thought, while trying to maintain my composure and push my way through them, ignoring their pleas.

I didn't even understand why they were so desperate. It was absurd. Those who had already entered the Tower of Trials or surpassed Rank E did not have access to the Safe Zone.

That means even if I gave them the strategy, it would be useless to them.

They couldn't re-enter that dungeon, just like me.

Then I received a system message, or rather, a message from my guide fairy:

[ Reincarnated 'Seth' is being harassed. Do you wish to file a complaint? Violators will be sanctioned with a one-week expulsion from the Reincarnation Space. ]

With a malicious smile, I began to draft the complaint, detailing how hurt and aggrieved I felt by the harassment I was suffering.

In a matter of seconds, all my harassers received their sanctions and began to disappear, one after another, until no one was left around me.

With an almost angelic smile, I stood in the middle of the plaza, arms crossed, waiting, almost daring, anyone else to bother me.

It was as if the system was on my side, and that made me feel powerful.

Before it could go to my head, I decided to ask my guide fairy to transport me to the Floor 1 waiting room.

However, before I could do so, a woman suddenly approached me.

Her appearance did not go unnoticed; people watching from a distance began to whisper among themselves when they saw her.

"Hello, Seth. My name is Cassandra, although in the Reincarnation Space everyone knows me as the Princess of Death. I would like to speak with you privately, if possible."

The Princess of Death? I instinctively looked up at the World Reincarnated Ranking List, visible in the center of the plaza.

There, in the second position, her name stood out, Princess of Death, Rank A, currently located on Floor 26 of the Tower of Trials...

What the heck did the Second in the World Ranking want from me?
