Eve Sherman heard this and instinctively furrowed her brows, asking without thinking, "Why? Where are you going?"
"I need to handle something. You stay home and rest well. I'll come over as soon as I'm done,"
Stellan Sutton explained to her patiently, yet he didn't specify what he was going to do.
Eve pondered for a moment and then nodded, "Alright then, go ahead. Don't stay up too late. I'll just go to sleep."
"Okay."
Stellan stood up, grabbed his suit jacket, was about to leave, and then turned back.
Eve had just lain down when he approached her, without saying a word, bent over, and kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight, sleep well."
"..."
Eve opened her mouth but didn't know what to say. She just nodded blankly, "Okay."
After Stellan left, Eve realized her face was burning, and even her ears were a bit hot.
"Seriously, Eve Sherman, is this all you've got? After all, you're already pregnant with someone else's child, and just one kiss gets you like this?"
