Chapter 16 - Conspiracy

Noah confirmed his objective.

Regardless of whether the Terran Federation existed or not, he would definitely rebuild this civilization; he would surely make human civilization stand tall in the galaxy once again!

However, achieving this would not be easy; he first had to ascertain the technological level of this universe.

More importantly, he had to acquire the military technology of the Terran Federation.

He did not believe that civilian technology could successfully overturn this universe; at least, he dared not believe that the combat power of a universal civilization would be very low.

Noah began to ponder the database he carried with him.

This was a database provided by the federation; every federation citizen would have a super quantum core containing all of the federation's data.

For ordinary citizens, it was civilian data, but his was different; at some point, he had acquired something extraordinary.

He was a senior researcher for the Terran Federation, which meant his data could not be limited to just civilian data, as he had to research newer weapons and equipment, as well as more advanced weaponry, for the federation.

He was not just an ordinary federation researcher; he was a triple-discipline researcher.

This meant his database actually stored all of the federation's data from the period he was a researcher.

All of this was recorded; what he needed to do now was reactivate his permissions.

However, this was destined not to be a simple project; it would be a lengthy endeavor.

If Noah were to do it alone, this would definitely be a prolonged task; at this stage, he could only rely on civilian technology.

While Noah began tinkering with his technology, the Imperium's high-ranking officials, whom Noah had sent back to the Governor's Mansion, looked at each other.

The meaning they wished to convey to each other was clear and unambiguous.

Should they deal with the fellow who had captured all of them?

As a group of old foxes, they could communicate such intentions with just a glance, but they quickly reached a consensus.

No.

They could not go after the fellow who had captured them all, because when they were captured, no one discovered it. If they could be captured once, they could be captured a second time.

At least given the current situation on the Bethel Empire Hive World, there was no way they could do anything to Noah, even if they mobilized the Planetary Defence Force and the Astra Militarum for an attack, it would be meaningless.

Although the attacks in the Underhive earlier were only from some heretic cults and Gangs, they had witnessed the combat power of Noah's 400 personal guards.

That was a combat power capable of charging into a crowd and wreaking havoc; they had to be cautious of this level of combat power—

Alright, they needed to remain cautious about Noah, but what about those cults and heretics?

Grover slowly stood up and straightened his crumpled uniform. His eyes became sharp and cold, a stark contrast to the fear he had shown in front of Noah.

"Gentlemen," his voice was low, "I think we all know what needs to be done now."

Marcus immediately understood, pressing the communicator with a sneer: "All Arbites squads, attention! Immediately execute 'Purification Protocol'. Target: All heretic activity zones in the Underhive."

Planetary general Albert, on the other hand, directly connected to the Planetary Defence Force's command system.

"All of the PDF are to be deployed. Eliminate those scum in the Underhive.

Let them know what the wrath of the God-Emperor means; they dared to worship heretics!"

With the Adeptus Arbites and the planetary general taking action, the Inquisition naturally would not be absent.

Ecclesiarch Bishop Cyrus piously kissed the Imperial Aquila: "The Inquisition has received my report.

The Inquisitor is on his way with the Flame Purging Squad."

The Governor's Mansion attendants were horrified to discover that these high-ranking officials, who usually engaged in infighting, now displayed astonishing synergy.

Within just thirty minutes, the entire Hive World's machinery of violence was mobilized.

From the perspective of the Empire's administrative departments, this was almost impossible. Were these the same people who, for a minor proposal, would drag out procedures for several years?

And their targets were merely the Gangs and cults of the Underhive.

When did these fellows suddenly become so concerned about the scum in the Underhive?

The heads of various Imperial departments who received the orders and notifications were all dumbfounded, not knowing what exactly had happened.

After they had issued all the commands, these highest-ranking officials of the Bethel Empire Hive World once again fell silent.

Although they had just used those Gangs to divert their attention, the problem of Noah, which lay before them, was one they had to face.

Even if they played dead, it would be useless.

Regardless, they had to come up with a plan to deal with Noah today.

They had to come up with a plausible plan, otherwise, it would definitely be a big problem for them.

Grover took a deep breath and slowly removed his sash and insignia, placing them on the table.

This action made the other high-ranking officials hold their breath—this was a signal that a major decision was about to be made.

"Gentlemen," his voice was hoarse.

"We must admit a fact: with our current strength, we are simply unable to contend with that entity."

Justice Department Executive Officer Marcus clenched his fist in frustration: "Are we just going to let a heretic run rampant in the Emperor's world?"

"Of course not." General Albert suddenly revealed a sinister smile, "We indeed cannot deal with him, but someone can."

A glint flashed in bishop Cyrus's cloudy eyes: "You mean... the Inquisition's..."

"Black ships." Governor Glover slowly nodded, "Only Psykers can fight Psykers. We need to request aid from Holy Terra."

This decision plunged the room into a brief silence.

Everyone knew that once the black ships arrived, not only would that mysterious person be taken away, but all Psykers on the entire planet would face a massive purge.

This might even require paying an additional tithe, as the Empire's taxes were truly abstract.

Although their planet was a Hive World and its economy was relatively prosperous, they truly could not afford it.

But at this moment, this seemed to be their only choice.

"So be it."

The Justice Department Executive Officer finally unclenched his fist, "I will personally write an encrypted report and send it directly to the Solar Sector Inquisition via Astropath."

"Very well, I will also use my last influence to make the Inquisition expedite the process. May the Emperor's light shine upon us once again."

Governor Glover was born into the High Lords, but due to a failure in political struggles, he was ultimately exiled to this planet to serve as governor.

Because of this, he was very clear about how bizarre the Empire's administrative efficiency truly was.

Without external influence, who knew if his matter would be delayed for several years?

Therefore, he had to make a decision, even if doing so would deplete his last political resources, but it was clearly not the time to worry about political resources; his life was in someone else's hands.

"Agreed." The Ecclesiarch Bishop trembled as he made an aquila salute, "May the Emperor forgive our incompetence."

These fellows made their respective decisions, unaware that their every move was being watched by Noah.

Immediately after they made their decision, a psionic wave transmitted into their minds, directly erasing all their previous decisions and all memories concerning Noah..

It was still the same sentiment: they were human, and Noah could not ascertain how much trouble killing these people would cause; otherwise, they would have long been dead.
