Chapter 17 - Ch.17 Leisurely Time

"Goddess, do all members of this race have such regeneration capability?"

Nexus asked, after all, if such a race that can never die and grow stronger with every death truly exists, it's a miracle that humanity or any other race in the universe has been able to survive till now.

"Such strong regeneration is only possessed by the strongest of their race; on average, they can only regenerate once a year, and their strength increase is also temporary."

"Plus, as they reached higher ranks, their strength increased by their rebirth decreases."

Hearing her words, Nexus released a sigh of relief. It's a good thing that this race wasn't as overpowering as he thought. Although they are stronger than humans as a race, they aren't vastly superior.

"Goddess, does this race have some kind of core that enables their survival or regeneration?"

"No, Dear Citizen Nexus, no such cores have been found to this point. If you do find it in the future, please notify me. This would be considered a huge contribution to humanity."

"Understood."

"Hmm, Dear Citizen Nexus, I have changed the time flow of reality and this world to 1:100. If you wish to practice your fighting style, please do so. If you wish to exit the space, please think of exiting in your mind."

After saying that, the goddess's voice disappeared, and a panel appeared in front of him with three pictures. The three pictures were the three races: The White Pague, Humans, and the Zerg.

"Hmm."

Nexus nodded his head as he closed his eyes, he opened his otherworldly compression and chose the second last White Plague he fought.

Taking a battle stance, he threw himself into the heat of battle, his eyes observing every move it made as thoughts and ideas arose in his head.

[Your Comprehension defies all the logic of the world. You have watched the White Plague fight and learned about its body function.]

[Your Comprehension defies all the logic of the world. You have watched the White Plague fight and through it, you have mastered controlling every muscle and fiber of your body.]

After days of continuous fighting, Nexus fell to the ground as he closed his otherworldly comprehension. He rubbed his head as he felt an intense headache.

All the things he managed to learn to this point almost overloaded his brain. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes. After an hour or so, he opened his eyes as he sat down on the ground.

He had been fighting and comprehending for five days, so he was mentally exhausted beyond doubt. If not for his path having a way to regain mental strength quickly, he would have to sleep for a day or so.

Though his gains in this fight weren't small, he more or less understood why the White Plague can exist in both solid and liquid states.

The reason is simple: they aren't a pure physical existence; they are more of a hybrid of energy and physicality. In terms of biology, they should be more closely related to spirits than living bodies.

As for the reason for their rebirth, well, it is quite simple and complicated at the same time. Due to their bodies' nature, they can store a certain amount of energy under their normal energy reserve.

And during the moment of their death, this energy reserve burst out rapidly, regenerating their half-energy body. This is also the reason they can only regenerate once a year.

But it also makes it hard for them to kill, after all, although the hidden reserve exists, it is deeply connected to their normal energy reserve, so unless they are destroyed from atom to atom, it is impossible to stop their regeneration.

"Well, at my current level, I can't find a way."

Nexus muttered to himself as he stood up, stretching his body. He gave a command to exit as the world near him collapsed. Looking at the testing room, in reality, he touched his body to make sure he was alright as he exited.

It had been almost two hours since he entered the virtual world; it's a good thing that the goddess changed the time flow, otherwise he wouldn't have dared activate his otherworldly comprehension.

"Yoooo."

Just as he exited the room, Ronan's loud voice assaulted his ears as he looked in Ronan's direction with a helpless look. Ignoring the awkward situation with his thick skin, he walked toward Ronan.

Although he wanted to act like he didn't know this loud bastard, he knew that if he did so, he would shout even louder.

"You seem to be in a good mood."

Nexus said as he walked toward the exit of the room. Ronan gave a large smirk as he followed him, putting his hands on Nexus's shoulder, and he whispered.

"Guess what order I got."

"Sixth or higher as you had boasted before.'

Hearing his question, Nexus replied with a smile as Ronan froze; he even forgot what word he was going to say next.

"You know that was a joke."

Ronan quickly collected himself as he replied, although he was smiling, the weight on Nexus's shoulders increased. Although it was enough force to crush ordinary people, for those who have entered the first rank, it isn't much.

"Yes, yes, so boastful Ronan, what rank did you get?"

Nexus asked as he looked at him.

"Hehe, I got First Rank: Third Order. Aren't I great?"

Ronan said as he started to laugh arrogantly, looking at his face that seemed to say Praise me, Nexus wanted to give him a light punch.

"So what rank did you get?"

Ronan asked as he turned toward Nexus with interest in his eyes. He remembered that Nexus had also boasted that he would get higher than Fifth Order.

"Oh, me. It's not much, just First Rank: Fifth Order."
