Chapter 69 - Chapter 69. Sugar Mummy

"You are such a gentleman, sir, and your performance was wonderful. If you ever plan to show more magic tricks, please don't forget to invite me," As she finished speaking, her face was so close to Ed's that he could feel her warm breath on his lips.

Just as he was about to make a move to steal a kiss from this rich sugar mommy and bring their relationship to the next level, she drew back with a shy expression, breathing heavily as if trying her best to control herself. She is indeed a very open-minded woman, Ed thought with a lewd smile.

"Of course. This is a beautiful city. I'm planning to open a grand magic show here soon. I may not care about others, but you simply must come to encourage me. I will reserve a front-row seat just for you," Ed said with a smile, snapping his fingers. As he did, a candy appeared in his hand, which he personally placed in her mouth. She ate it without hesitation.

"Sir, why don't you come inside so we can talk properly about your matter?" The woman hugged Ed's arm between her E-cup breasts and pulled him toward her villa.

Ed hesitated for a moment, but after looking at the woman's sexy figure, he gave in and walked inside. He had first thought this rich woman might live with family, but it turned out she lived alone in the large villa with just five maids to look after it.

Her sixty-year-old husband had died from an illness just two years prior, leaving all his wealth to this attractive lady, who was still, ostensibly, trying to move on from the "sadness" of his passing and hadn't yet considered finding a new partner.

No wonder she's so open-minded, Ed thought, sitting on the soft sofa and smiling at the beautiful woman beside him, who was enthusiastically telling him various stories about herself.

It turns out no one has plowed that barren field of hers for almost two full years. It's only natural she'd be attracted to a super handsome guy like him and get excited from just a little conversation.

As he listened, not-so-beautiful middle-aged maids brought desserts from the kitchen.

Ed spent an entire hour with Kaila, the owner of the haunted house and his soon-to-be sugar mommy. Because she was a simple, honest, and horny woman, by the end of their conversation, Ed had dug out everything about her, even the color of her panties wasn't kept secret. He could say with confidence that if given a full day, he would make Kaila fall crazily for him and definitely "eat her up" by nightfall.

After their conversation, Ed finally returned to the main point and brought up the haunted villa again. This made Kaila hesitate, as she didn't want him to go to such a dangerous place. But after he reassured her by showing several impressive magic tricks, she finally bit her lip, accepted his request, and rented him the villa for a week for two silver snakes.

Of course, since she already considered Ed a close friend, there was a condition attached: Ed had to come to her for dinner every night and breakfast every morning to confirm he was safe and hadn't been harmed by any ghost. If she sensed anything wrong, she would instantly take back the keys.

"Sigh, my luck with women is just helpless," Ed mused while his head worriedly. First, a kind, caring, and perverted woman enters his life, and now this. If he'd had such luck in his last life, would he have suffered so much?

Snapping out of his thoughts, Ed happily accepted Kaila's conditions. After taking the villa keys, receiving a serious good-luck kiss on his cheek, and coaxing her once more that everything would be fine, he walked out of Kaila's villa.

It seemed the villa had left a deep shadow on Kaila in the past. Although she hadn't told him the details, even though she genuinely worried for him, she didn't dare to step forward and accompany him to the place.

After leaving, Ed soon arrived at the door of the haunted villa with the key. He unlocked the outer door and walked in casually, as if entering his own home.

The few passersby nearby stared at him as if they'd seen a ghost, then quickened their pace and fled. One old lady, who knew where she got the strength, suddenly picked up her granddaughter and ran faster than the middle-aged uncle ahead of her.

Thankfully, Ed didn't witness this small episode; otherwise, he might have doubted whether she was truly an old lady or someone in disguise.

As Ed walked in and closed the door with his back hand, two neighbors some distance away looked at him with pity. Man A, a cigar in his mouth, spoke to his friend.

"How long do you think he'll last?"

"He's just a young man. One night, I think, at most. He doesn't look very brave. I'd bet he's doing this to impress a girl."

"What about you? How long do you think?" Man B asked, taking a sip of wine. "After all, you've been in there once. You're the expert here."

"Well, he looked very confident when he entered, and Kaila is a kind woman. There's no way she didn't tell him the true story of this cursed villa. So, I think he must have some trick up his sleeve. If he's really prepared, spending three days shouldn't be a problem," Man A replied after thinking for a while.

"Want to place a bet?" Man B asked after listening.

"Just the two of us isn't enough. Let's go drag others into this as well. It'll be more fun," Man A said, throwing away his cigar. Together with Man B, he quickly walked toward a nearby villa to find their friends and share the amusement.

Unaware that his neighbors had already started betting on him, and were now praying he would quickly become a ghost's victim, Ed looked around the villa, coughing loudly and waving his hand to dispel the cloud of dust before him.

Since the curtains were drawn and no one had been inside for some time, a light haze of dust hung in the air as he entered.

He picked up the lantern hanging by the door, turned the hinge at the bottom, and lit it.

A thick layer of dust covered everything in sight, confirming that no one had come here for a long time.

First, Ed opened all the curtains to let sunlight flood in and give the haunted house a sun bath. Soon, the whole place brightened and grew warmer.

The layout was simple: a living room and a dining room separated by a short distance. The decoration was simple and warm, and apart from the thick dust, spider webs, and white sheets covering the furniture, it didn't seem like a haunted house at all.

Ed took a tour of the villa. Confirming there was only one entrance on the ground floor and no basement, he breathed a sigh of relief and drew all the curtains closed again.

Then, he fetched cleaning tools from the storage room and began sweeping away dust and spiderwebs blocking his path. He also cleaned specific areas to get a more detailed look at the villa, hoping to find where the treasure was hidden.

If he can find it easily, he'll definitely run from this villa and spend a few days with his sugar mommy, who'd be more than happy to take him as a temporary husband. Maybe if he performs well, he can even earn pocket money worth a few treasure-hunting trips.
