Chapter 54 - "A Dragon Ball Request"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

At the mouth of the jar, Harry and Gine leaned over to look inside—and both froze for a moment.

It looked like an entirely different world was sealed inside that pot.

Only then did Harry recall the relevant part from the original story.

The jars kept by Korin connect to various corners of the lower world. Celari must've accidentally opened one passage and ended up getting sucked to some random place on Earth.

Seeing that Celari was unharmed, Korin let out a heavy sigh of relief. "Good, good. I'll pull you up now. Don't run off again."

He reached for his staff, ready to extend it down.

But Celari didn't seem rushed at all.

First, she was plenty strong—there was nothing for her to panic about. Second, she could fly. And even if she couldn't, jumping up from this height would be trivial for her.

After she returned to the top of Korin Tower, Korin quickly put the lid back on the jar so nothing else would happen by accident.

He explained the situation along the way.

Gine and Celari were fascinated, unable to imagine how something like this worked.

Harry, however, remembered it from the original series, so none of this surprised him. He had simply failed to think of it at first—he must've subconsciously overlooked it.

But Celari's "incident" finally reminded him of something: the Ultra Divine Water.

Earth's Ultra Divine Water could awaken a person's hidden potential. The process was agonizing, but if one endured it, their power would skyrocket.

In the original story, Goku drank it and gained enough power to defeat King Piccolo.

Should I get the Ultra Divine Water now?

The idea surfaced, but Harry shut it down almost immediately.

Awakening his potential sounded great, but his current battle power was only a bit over 2,500. Even if the Ultra Divine Water boosted him significantly, he didn't have enough underlying accumulation yet.

How much power you gain from potential awakening depends entirely on how much potential you've built up in the first place.

Just like all the potential unlocks we've seen in the original series, the results always hinged on the person's foundation.

And honestly, the most outrageous example wasn't even Ultimate Gohan later in the Buu arc. The craziest one was back in the Namek Saga, when Guru casually unleashed Krillin and kid Gohan's potential. Their power leaped from a couple thousand to over ten thousand, then continued to climb into the tens of thousands as the plot progressed.

In other words, for Harry, this wasn't the right time. The Ultra Divine Water should wait until he'd built enough foundation through gravity training and raw effort.

Harry fell silent, clearly deep in thought.

Gine and Celari stayed quiet beside him. Korin glanced at him, secretly wondering what he was thinking about.

When Harry finally snapped out of it, he chatted a bit more with Korin, and the matter was settled.

Before leaving, Harry, Gine, and Celari thanked Korin again.

Then the three lifted off toward the Lookout.

After watching them disappear, Korin's expression turned complicated. He muttered something meaningful under his breath before finally letting out a relieved sigh.

Whatever he said, only he knew.

The Lookout

Three figures cut through the sky and landed steadily on the plaza.

Kami and Mr. Popo had been waiting for quite a while.

They shouldn't have had to wait this long, but apparently Harry's group took their time atop Korin Tower.

Kami noticed the jar of Senzu Beans in Harry's arms and immediately guessed that Korin had given it to them.

"You're back. How was your little trip around Earth?" Kami asked with a pleasant smile. He didn't bother nitpicking the Senzu Beans anymore; it was pointless now.

From the moment they left the Lookout, Kami had been watching their actions. He already knew how their trip went, but he still had to play along.

"It was alright," Harry said casually. "Earth's pretty developed. Lots of interesting things… but most importantly, something we saw reminded me of another ability Namekians have: creating Dragon Balls."

When he mentioned Dragon Balls, Kami's expression tightened just a little.

The thing he feared most had happened.

Dragon Balls could grant wishes—an irresistible temptation for anyone.

When he first created them, he hadn't thought too deeply. But as he grew older, he began to realize just how unnatural their existence was.

He used to feel safe because gathering all seven Dragon Balls was harder than climbing to the heavens. For hundreds of years, no one had ever managed to assemble them.

But now that Harry had brought up their existence—and directly traced the ability back to Namekians—Kami felt shaken. Thankfully, the Dragon Balls were scattered across the Earth.

"So it isn't my personal ability, but a Namekian ability… I see. Thanks to you, I've learned something new about my origins." Kami spoke gently, half grateful and half trying to redirect the conversation.

Harry didn't care about his tone. He spoke bluntly. "We need the Dragon Balls to grant a few wishes. Since you're the one who created the Earth Dragon Balls, could you help us gather them?"

Sweat visibly formed on Kami's forehead. Gine and Celari stared at him, making him even more uncomfortable.

Popo looked worried. Kami forced himself to stay calm. "I'm sorry. Even though I created the Dragon Balls… I cannot sense their locations. If you wish to use them, you'll have to find them on your own."

Just in case, he added, "But if you need assistance, I will do everything in my power to help."

Meaning: he wouldn't stop them, but he definitely wasn't going to help them find the Dragon Balls either.

It was clear that Kami still held onto caution where others were concerned.

"Just as I expected. In that case, we'll have to rely on technology," Harry said, glancing at Gine and Celari.

Neither of them had any fondness for Kami anymore. In fact, they were a little annoyed.

He always said he'd help, but only ever offered lip service.

It was like when they asked him about finding Kakarot—he talked but didn't lift a finger. And now it was the same with the Dragon Balls.

The mood of the conversation wasn't great. Gine and Celari no longer held any expectations for Kami.

If Harry hadn't stayed calm, they probably wouldn't have wanted to remain on the Lookout a minute longer.

"..."
