Chapter 25 - Beginning of Trauma

Iza's POV

"No! No! Don't kill me; don't hurt me. Please forgive me!" I continued to scream, struggling to breathe as the weight on my neck was choking me to death.

I jumped out of bed, gasping, after realizing it was a dream. I looked around in fear as I tiptoed and turned on the bed.

I began to hear someone banging on my door, and I was startled even more.

"Who's there?" I yelled in fear.

"Open the door, Iza." It was Alfred's voice.

I hurriedly walked to the door and twisted the keys, opening it.

"What happened? I heard you screaming." He asked as I hugged him tight to myself; that was all I needed right now, not a bunch of questions.

"It's okay; you'll be fine." He caressed my hair.

"Alfred, she's alive." I sobbed.

"She? who?" He asked, confused, his hands still on my hair.

"Aurora," I said, pulling away from the hug. "Alfred, I felt her; I saw her." I sobbed, pulling on his shirt. "I swear I did, and she was so angry, she tried killing me. She said, I betrayed her, and she's coming for us."

He stared at me for some seconds before letting out a sinister laughter. Iza, you're just imagining things, and besides, I choose you over her. Aurora is dead and gone," he said, trying to pull me into a hug.

"No Alfred." I step back, pushing his hands away. "I know what I saw; look, look at my neck," I said.

"Enough Iza! What would you have me do? Why is this information? I've told you that your cousin is dead and it has been confirmed, and I don't know why you're insisting on it because of a silly dream or imagination."

"It isn't silly, Alfred; the earlier you accept it, the better."

I wasn't done talking when he opened the door and said, "Suit yourself." He slammed the door in my face.

I began to hear the whistling of the winds; the rain was about to pour, and I became so scared.

I knew exactly what I saw; the feelings were so fresh. Aurora and I shared half-blood, and I could still feel her breathing.

Alzred's POV

The storms began to rumble and thunders began to cluster as I walked to my room, paying deaf ears to the nature of the earth.

I got to my room and slammed the door while my thoughts wandered. I knew Iza wasn't wrong, but I choose to believe that she's gone, and I hate it whenever I'm reminded of her; it does no good to be but harm.

She was still my first love, and I had a connection and bond with her even if I rejected her. I could still hear her breath and smell her scent, but I chose to believe that it was all my imagination.

And that was one of the reasons I chose to seek the witch goddess because I knew Aurora would return; at least I could be prepared by then.

It would be a great loss and humiliation if Aurora returned and took away the title from me.

But if I'm the overall Alpha of every pack, she would be powerless to do anything.

"You have to act quickly." A voice came from my head.

I paused for a second, darting my eyes around to confirm if my thoughts were actually right.

"Surprised?" The voice spoke again.

"Rowen?" I called immediately.

"Yes, that's me." He answered.

A mild smile appeared on my face. The goddess was finally on my side. My wolf has finally decided to talk with me.

Rowen was totally against me rejecting Aurora; he believed that Camel, Aurora's wolf, was his mate, but I chose to pay deaf ears to him.

On the night I rejected her, Rowan seized on talking to me or having anything to do with me except when I wanted to transfer into my wolf form.

"Welcome back, buddy." I told him.

"We need to ask fast. She isn't our mate, but that doesn't justify what you did to her," he said.

"You mean, what did she do to me? I only gave her a taste of her own soup, and that's all. Maybe I went a little extreme, but I don't regret a thing. Besides, how did you find out that we aren't mates?" I desperately asked.

"We aren't yet on talking terms; just do your path and allow me to do mine."

"I love the sound of that." I smirked.

It was time to take action. I couldn't do this alone; I needed a trusted person with whom I'd share the same motive.

I know I was the Alpha, but I couldn't just let everyone know that I was about to use the head of three Omega's fit sacrifice; even the pack council would go against it, and I wasn't ready to buy favors from anyone.

I walked outside my room and stood by the lobby, thinking of who to trust. "Sylvester?" Hell no, I wouldn't want someone to condemn me today and reveal it tomorrow.

I couldn't just trust any guard after the incident with Roman. Who else can be trusted? I thought, and that was when Iza hit my mind.

"How could I forget?" I smiled.

Iza was the only one I could trust with such information. She was already bitter about our slacking relationship, and I could see the desperation in her to do anything to reunite our love, which is why she went as far as involving pregnancy.

She wouldn't dare speak out to anyone; it wasn't like she had friends or relatives. I knew her to be greedy and pompous; why would she reject the offer of being an overall Luna?

Boasting of my idea, I stormed into Iza's room; she wasn't expecting to see me as she sat on her bed, both hands covering her face.

"Iza, I've got good news." I smiled as she raised her head to face me.
