Chapter 11 - 11

Lieutenant Reese, the Commander of the National Guard, roared, "Fire! What are you damn well waiting for? Fire, fire!"

Hundreds of Splitters surged out of the school building—how terrifying was that scene? It could make ordinary people wet their pants. And they were utterly fearless, scrambling over each other, which truly made the soldiers' legs turn to jelly.

"Fire! Fire!"

"Don't panic! Focus fire on the front row..."

"They're too fast! They're catching up!"

"Why aren't they dying after taking a whole clip of bullets?!"

"Damn it! What the hell are these things?!"

Although Splitters don't have shells as thick as Zerglings, you still need to hit a vital spot to kill them.

As the Overlords of the Universe, every Zerg combat unit has undergone tens of thousands of adjustments during its evolution.

Take the Splitter, for example. In the common sense, even if their bodies are torn apart, they won't die; they'll still counterattack if given the chance.

Their vital spot is in their brain, but their brain is covered by pincer-shaped fangs. Unless it's a sniper, with the current momentum, bullets simply cannot hit the brain behind the fangs.

"Riot shields! We need riot shields!"

"And fragmentation grenades! This is a battlefield, a real damn battlefield!"

"Don't come any closer! Ahhhhh..."

"There are too many of them! They're eating his body!"

"Retreat! Retreat! We can't hold them!"

The National Guard was forced out of the campus, but they soon discovered that these monsters wouldn't leave; they only devoured the bodies inside the gate, then split into miniature larvae, creating more Splitters.

Gwen's father, George, suggested, "Bullets have little effect on them. We should use flamethrowers."

"George! How could our National Guard possibly have such high-end stuff?!" Commander Reese anxiously clutched his hair. Just a probing attack had killed nearly a hundred of his brothers, and those damned monsters hadn't lost a single one!!!

George patted Reese's back and said, "Captain Tuode of the Marine Corps is an old friend of mine. I should be able to borrow some from him."

"That's great, George! Thank you for your assistance!" Gratitude emerged in Reese's weary eyes.

However, at this moment, another anomaly occurred.

The Splitters, having finished devouring the National Guard's bodies, returned to the school building.

Screams rose and fell.

Some students jumped out of windows, but they immediately broke bones upon landing and were easily devoured by the Splitters.

The immense bloody horror was broadcast live across the country via the overhead helicopter's cameras.

The Daily Bugle, Planet Daily, and several other news media outlets were a step behind.

They could only purchase the broadcasting rights from Lin Fan's television station.

Because Lin Fan was inside the campus and had firsthand information, otherwise these media outlets would never have paid attention to a small television station.

Gwen had already spoken to her father, George, on the phone. Since the Splitters had been lured out earlier, the surviving students had barricaded the classroom doors.

However, the Splitters were frantically ramming them, so this certainly wouldn't last long. Screams constantly echoed through the hallway.

At this moment, three apache transport helicopters swept by from afar. Each was equipped with two 18mm Gatling heavy machine gun turrets, which, through electric magnetic acceleration, could fire up to 3000 rounds per minute, making them a nightmare for individual soldiers on the battlefield.

Lieutenant Reese saw the apache transport helicopters in the sky, grabbed George's arm, and exclaimed in surprise, "It's the Delta Force! These battle-hardened elites can definitely rescue those students!"

Regarding the Splitter attack on the campus, several nearby Military colonels strongly supported the effort, assembling a hundred-person Delta Force special rescue team. To prevent the incident from escalating further, after rescuing the surviving students, they planned to conduct deep napalm incineration operations to eradicate all living creatures in the area.

Gwen wanted to save more people, but she wasn't that strong. Splitters are very agile, and ordinary attacks are extremely difficult to inflict damage on them. If she acted rashly, she wouldn't be able to save anyone and might even be worn down to Death.

At this moment, Gwen's phone rang again; it was her father, George. Through the call, Gwen learned that an elite unit had landed on the top floor of the school building via helicopter to rescue the surviving students inside.

Lin Fan's Overlord was in the clouds above. The heavy firepower of the apaches posed a great threat to the Splitters, so he would not allow the Splitters to leave the school building again.

However, he didn't expect the Delta Force to act as a rescue team for this operation. They are an ace unit in the Military, second only to the suicide squads.

These elite soldiers are all equipped with light machine guns and fragmentation grenades, possess extremely high combat skills, and have performed missions and participated in various battles in other countries for years, with at least several human lives on their hands.

However, the number of Splitters had already scaled up, and the number of remaining students was less than a hundred. As resources for the Zerg's growth, Lin Fan could not let them go.

This was Lin Fan's conspiracy. The number of people who would eventually leave the campus could not exceed ten, and he wanted to be the crucial person in this incident.
