Chapter 4 - Make Yourself Comfortable

William, with Bri in tow, walked up the stairs, then a few steps down the hall, and suddenly turned back to her. "This will be your room for now."

She followed him as he opened and entered a large bedroom. The room was simple but beautiful, with soft cream walls, tall windows, and a view that stretched across the city.

"This is… nice," Bri said softly.

"It's quiet," he replied. "You'll have privacy."

He stood in the doorway for a moment, as though unsure what to say next. Then, after a few seconds, he said, "I have a few things to take care of tonight. Make yourself comfortable. Here is your Key card. The kitchen is down stairs next to the living room, there is plenty of food."

She stretched her hand for the Key card, and before she could respond, he turned and left the room.

Moments later, she heard the front door close.

Bri stood there for a moment, unsure what to do.

She sighed and looked around the room again, thinking of how it was twice as big as the small apartment she shared with Anna.

She slowly unzipped her bag, pulled out a pair of pyjamas, and then disappeared into the bathroom for a quick shower. Once done, she locked the bedroom door, climbed into the large bed, and turned on the TV.

Her agency, StarLink Entertainment, had just released a new legal drama, and Bri was joining production for the second season as a court clerk. She was both excited and terrified because it was her first recurring role, and she didn't want to mess it up.

So, she picked up her phone and texted her manager, Nancy.

I'll be there for the start of production tomorrow.

Then she drifted to sleep.
