Chapter 6 - Hell no, never

After that encounter, Athenis realized one thing - she needed to be careful. Athenis wasn't dump to expect nothing from Cezanie after the converstaion they had. Instead she focused on training with Lilith and improving her skills even more.

Athenis just wanted her friend to get into academy because she also planned how to get out of this academy before even getting in. Well, the academy is strict especially when it comes to specific rules, so if she breaks one, they will just kick her out right?

That was her plan. Stupid isn't it?

But for now, she had to stay on her guard—Cezanie was not the type to let go so easily.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the kingdom, Cezanie's thoughts lingered on that "messy-haired girl," her eyes narrowing with curiosity.

That girl found solution to the kid's fainting?

In short amount of time?

She didn't even flinch when I approached her… Who does she think she is, talking back to me?

These questions made Cezanie's curiosity boil even more. She was as clever as her father, with an incredible talent for art and music, all while studying sorcery. After thinking for a while she looked at the door like she was expecting someone to come in.

Suddenly, she called for her closest maid. Footsteps echoed through the castle halls, revealing a young woman standing by the door.

"Anna, today i met someone."

Anna's gaze sharpened.

"Shall i find out who it is, my lady?"

Anna asked the question, already guessing the answer.

Cezanie smirked.

"Yes but l will do the rest i just need her personal information that's all."

Cezanie chuckled as she looked out the window.

"This is gonna be interesting."

When Cezanie was interested in something, that meant she would never let that interest fade so easily. She was happy enough to meet with a total stranger instead of spending her day with Theoren. Cezanie sighed heavily.

"You'd better not disappoint me, strange girl."

She muttered to herself.

Anna was a maid who worked for Cezanie, she was a maid who was capable of doing anything to finish her work - laundry, housework, cooking, makeup and even combat. She was a perfect maid or sometimes a... spy.

Anna was smart enough to catch on and understand the meaning of secret signs hidden within casual conversations. Of course, she was nothing like Cezanie, but even as a mere wisdom bearer, she was exceptional for someone of B-rank.

As she was thinking about her master's order to find information about a strange girl with messy hair, people suddenly cheered outside.

This situation made her startled, her thoughts disappearing. She got distrcated by the crowd and immediately looked out of the window only to feel a strong aura of two manipulating figures.

Of course, who could it be?

The great warrior of kingdom, the golden boy - Theoren and the owner of rare dual talent both warrior and a wisdom bearer. Messy brown hair, violet eyes shining like nightfall diaomonds, that sunshine - like energy and a beautiful mole beneath one eye - Alpheratz.

What were these two doing outside?

Anna was suspicious to see both of them - the great rivals, outside chatting with each other.

No wonder why girls screamed earlier.

Anna sighed.

"Why did they even come here? Anyway, i must find that strange girl."

She was determined to find the girl who had caught her master's interest.

Cezanie was on the other hand enjoying this, she was never this excited in her life. As she heard the news about Theoren coming here, one thought crossed her mind.

He must have important reasons.

As Cezanie prepared herself to greet the prince, she bit her lip to hold her laughter because she was going to see that grumpy face again. She stepped out of her room, smiling peacefully and ready for whatever that was waiting her. She gracefully headed towards the luxurious room which was designed for importnat meetings.

Cezanie took a deep breath before opening the door with confidence. Her eyes widened to see that person standing beside Theoren.

Alpheratz? What is he doing here?

How long has it been since she saw him last time?

Alpheratz smiled warmly, bowing as a "long time no see" sign. That made Cezanie chuckle as she looked at Theoren who was standing stiffly, hands clasped behind his back.

"Cezanie, we must discuss the engagement thing."

Theoren looked at her coldly.

"Ah, yes that chraming arrangement that's haunted my childhood dreams and my adulthood dinners."

She smiled mischievously. Theoren was expecting that outcome so he just looked at her directly.

"I will speak plainly. I do not wish to marry. The engagement ends here. I also discussed it with the king himself."

This answer made Alpheratz whisper under his breath.

"Take it easy man, will ya?"

Cezanie's eyes widened as she bursted out laughing.

"You...are you serious?"

Theoren deadpan and unwaveringly continued.

"I am. Entirely serious."

The atmosphere made Alpheratz uncomfortable as he was waiting for Cezanie to cry but seeing her laugh, he was entirely dumbfounded.

Cezanie clapped her hands.

"Well, that's unexpectedly pleasant! I was preparing a hundred excuses, heartfelt speeches!"

What the hell are these two even doing?

What am i even doing here?

This was the question that was creating a whirlwind of complicated questions in Alpheratz's mind.

Theoren raised an eyebrow.

"Speeches? I assumed you were far to civilized for that."

Cezanie laughed.

"Civilized? Maybe. But not when it comes to a lifelong cold stare from someone i have known since we were seven."

Alpheratz was still processing what was going on.

"Wait...wait just one second...you actually don't want it!?"

Theoren sighed.

"Yes Alpheratz, neither of us wanted it. Schocked?"

Cezanie was laughing now while Alpheratz just...stood there.

Theoren immediately added.

"You came to observe students, more likely exam judge observation thing."

Alpheratz laughed like he now understood the situation.

"Mark my words, i shall judge the students, i shall asses history. But today...i witnessed sonething far greater. Cold prince, tricky girl...you two are impossible."

Cezanie laughed ta his words while Theoren just rolled his eyes. Alpheratz smiling like a kid looked at both of them.

"So you two don't wanna go back to engagement thing?"

His words hit both Cezanie and Theoren like a rock, and they both turned to him, speaking in unison.

"Hell no, never."
