Chapter 16 - boons.

Not only did they speak loen language, they also shared the same grim and tense vibes.

Where am I? what do I plan to do here? I would like to know too… calming his thoughts, Adam thought of a reasonable answer to the two questions.

Adam's impression was neither thr sentences formed by words but the meaning behind them, and also the display of bewilderment, vigilance, and reverence by the couple!

Due to his slip up, two people had been dragged onto this world surrounded by white light . as the perpetrator, Adam was already felling abnormally dumbfounded and startled, let alone these two who were pulled into this mess completely passively.

Despite their concerned expression, they weren't all that terrified being in this situation.

At this moment, Adam thought of two options: the first was to hide his identity by acting like a victim, and in turn gain a considerable amount of trust. He could take find some opprtuned moments to gleam some information from them when possible. The other option was to maintain his mysterious identity in the eyes of the couple. He could then affect the subsequent development while also gleaming valuable information from them.

Without the luxury of time to consider a better option, he grasped the idea thst flashed across his mind. He made an immediate decision to try out the second idea.

Exploit the psychological state of the others to gain the greatest advantage for himself!

After a few seconds of silence in the room, Adam chuckled. With a low but not heavy tone, he calmly spoke as though he was replying to the polite greetings from the visitors, "An attempt."

An attempt… an attempt? Ignatius black looked at the mysterious guy veiled in the illusion produced by the white light, and the only thought in his mind was that this situation was weird to say the least.

He was just in his room only moments ago. But just by attempting a divination, he had come to this place that was filled with white light, that created some sort of mirage.

How inconceivable!

Ignatius took a breath, revealing an impeccable, smile. He asked in a weary tone, "Sir is the attempt over? Might you permit our return?

Atur Sanson also had the intention to probe Adam in a familiar fashion, but his rich experience made him hold back his impulse and only observed the interaction.

Adam looked at the questioner. Looking through the light mirage, he could roughtly see the silhouette of the person in question. It was a young man with brown hair, but his exact feature could not be seen clearly.

He did not immediately answer his question, but turned his gaze to look at the other man. He had a very light blonde hair, as well as a medium stature that was that of a young man.

Adam suddenly realized something. Once he becomes stronger by advancing through a sequence or had a deeper understanding of white room, it might be possible for him to see through the mirage and discern the two people he had unknowningly summoned.

In this situation, they are the visitors and I'm the master!

After changing his mindset, Adam noticed details he had neglected earlier on.

The curious and slightly weary man and the young but mature man both looked considerably incorporeal. Tainted by a faint azure blue, they resembled a projected image of the two coloured stars above the white room.

This projection was based on the connection between the azure light and himself, an intangible connection that only he himself could realistically grasp hold of.

The projection would disappear once the connection is cut and the two of them would return… Adam nodded mildly then looked at the brown haired man, "of course if you make a formal request, you can return this very moment".

When he did not identify any ill intention from his tone, Ignatius heaved a sigh of relief. He believed that since a gentlemen who was capable of such miracles had given his word, he would definitely abide by it.

He was in no hurry to request his leave. He rolled his eyes left and right, which was filled with awe and anticipation.

He said in an anxious , anticipative and tempted manner, "This is such an experience, I always wanted to come across supernatural phenomena. I like mysteries. No my point is what I mean is that, Sir, where can I get the sequence 8 formula of the seer pathway.

He was anxious the more he spoke, as he didn't want to offend or anger such a being , he was using this opportunity to find out the next potion formular for his sequence 8 clown. He was certain that this existence had such means, he just didn't want to appear too direct and incur his wrath.

"The seer pathway huh isn't that not the path Leah is on", "I don't know the answer to this question." Adam complained inwardly.

He started to ponder on an answer to the question to maintain his unfathomable image.

At the same time, he felt that he though better when he was seating down, and that it was quite unbecoming of him to talk while standing . shouldn't he be in a palace, sitting at the head of a long table, and on a highback chair engraved with ancient runes, while silently observing his visitors.

As soon as this thought surfaced, the white light stared to churn, giving both Ignatius and Atur a shock.

In an instant, they saw a number of towering stone pillars around then. Above them was a vast dome that that encapsulated them.

This entire edifice looked majestic, grand and loft, just like a legendary palace for kings

But in truth Adam had just thought of a palace that had been described in one of Aurore lee's novel he had taken.

Directly under the dome where dazzling light gathered, they coelenced into a long, bronze table appeared with ten high back chairs on either side in a perfectly symmetrical arrangement, along with a chair on each of the two ends of the long table. The back of each chair dazzled and shone faintly with azure blue, drawing the outlines of weird and abstract schematics and geometry.

Ignatios and Atur sat face to face, next to the seat of honor.

Atur looked at his sides and could not help but mumble, "fascinating…"

It is fascinating… Adam extended his right hand and caressed the edge of the bronze table for a while maintaining a calm but curious expression.

Could I imagine anything into existence in here?. Yes I should be able to.

Atur inspected his surroundings, and after a some silence, he answered Ignatius question in place of Adam.

I do have the potion formula for the seer sequence 8 which is clown.

If you want to get potions ingredients easily its best you join the churches of either the Evernight Goddess, Lord of storms, or the God of steam and machinery.

Beyonders exist in courts, tribunals, and execution agencies. They are still fighting against the dangers that grows in the dark, like evil gods trying to descend onto earth, official beyonders have been occupied with stopping the believers of those evil gods. And evil gods also bestow their believers with boons which are difference from normal pathways since they don't need to digest any potions.

Adam listened attentively, but he tried his best to present himself as paying little attention to Atur's words, like he was just spectating an event in a detached manner.

Being a spectator has many advantages in here, I could easily sit quietly and observe their discussions without feeling the need to be involved.

Relying on previous information he had learned, evil gods can bestow their followers with power exactly the same as a pathway called boons, which involved a secret deed to channel the entity's presence. Adam had thought of this as it was possible the honorific name he found had some ties to an evil god his parents worship. But that doesn't seem to be the case.

Ignatius silently listened to Atur finish his sentence before sighing.

"I know all about what you just said; I even know more than that, including the purifiers, nighthawks, the mandated punishers, and the machinery Hivemind, but I don't want to lose my freedom."

Atru gave a low chuckle, and said "being a beyonder comes with sacrfices. If you don't consider joining churches and accepting their given challenges, you can only seek the royal families and the few nobles with family history. If not, you can try your luck and search for an evil organization.
