Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

It's been a few weeks since my accident when I broke my arm while riding. I've always loved being on the saddle, but now, I can't shake the hesitation about getting back on the same horse that broke my arm, but I know that it wasn't the animal's fault. As I walked through the stable, I received a phone call from Nevaeh. I picked up the call and asked her how her day was going.

As we talked, I felt something off about her. It felt like she wasn't really interested in the conversation. In the past, we had great chats and enjoyed hanging out, but lately, she seems distant and less eager to spend time with me. I can't help but wonder what's going on. It's been tough, especially with everything else I've been dealing with after the accident. I wanted to hang out as much as we used to, but now my world felt like it was falling apart, and I didn't know what to do, so I decided to take a walk downtown just to clear my mind of the things that were happening in my life.

While walking, I saw a familiar face walking on the other side of the road. It was Nevaeh, but it was like she was in a hurry to somewhere; this stirred my curiosity within me. Against my better judgment, I began to follow her, driven by a need to understand what was going on. As I was right behind her, I saw her walk into a restaurant. I didn't think anything of it until I saw a guy walk in and sat right next to her, then I saw the most heartbreaking thing that has ever happened to me. In a crushing moment that felt like a punch to the gut, I witnessed them share a kiss, right there in front of me. When I saw this, I felt an overwhelming wave of heartbreak wash over me, leaving me feeling more lost than ever.

After I saw that, I didn't know what to do, so I just walked away. While walking, I saw an empty bench facing the mountain. When I sat there, I was lost in thought, watching the serene landscape unfold before me, and I felt a sharp pain as if a sharp needle had stabbed my stomach. It was hard to hold back my tears, but I had to let them out. When I was about to get up, I heard a voice behind me and asked,

"Are you okay there, mate?"

"I'm fine, thank you," I replied, quickly wiping my tears.

"Well, friend, it looks like you're going through a tough time. Do you need someone to talk to?"

"Yes, I do, thank you," I replied

"Hey, you look familiar, aren't you the kid that helped me look for the fish?"

"Yes, I'm why," I replied

"Well, I'm the person that you help," he replied

"Well, I'm glad you remember me! It feels like it's been a while. I could really use someone to talk to right now. You see, I just went through a pretty tough experience. I had an accident while riding, and now I'm dealing with some personal stuff too. I just saw my girl, and it hurt to see her with someone else," I replied

"Man, that suck," he replied

"I know it's just a lot on my mind lately. I thought I had a solid relationship, but now I'm not sure what to think. It's hard to process everything."

After I said that, I talked for a while, and he gave me some advice on what to do. I asked what his name was, and he told me that his name was Carlos and how he sometimes hides his face in public just so girls won't try to get with him. He is a man to himself, but he's a really good person to talk to. When the day was about to end, I told him adios, and then I walked back home.
