Chapter 70 - 70

The first things that caught their eyes were various weapons gleaming with cold light: golden long spears, silver longswords, great axes, great hammers... There was a wide variety, and none of them looked ordinary; they were all rare weapons.

"These are all high-quality weapons collected by my father. Do you want to pick one?"

Thor introduced them to Li Yue.

"No need. I forgot to tell you, your father has already agreed to have the Dwarf race on Nidavellir forge a custom weapon for me!"

Although Li Yue saw that these weapons were not ordinary and were only a level below Mjolnir, they were all rare artifacts. In other places, countless people would fight over them.

However, Li Yue only had one chance to choose, so he couldn't pick something displayed at the entrance. He certainly had to choose something from deeper inside to make it worthwhile.

"What? Have the Dwarf race specifically forge a weapon for you? What was Father thinking? I don't even get that kind of treatment."

If Thor was envious before, now he was completely jealous. Although his Mjolnir was also made by dwarves, it wasn't specifically forged for him. To put it plainly, he was just the current owner of Mjolnir.

The treatment that he, as Odin's own son, didn't receive, Li Yue managed to get with just a few words. Was his father getting senile? Thor couldn't help but think this, otherwise, how could he explain it?

Thor stopped talking and led Li Yue further inside. He didn't want to bother with Li Yue right now. He just wanted Li Yue to pick quickly and get out of his sight as soon as possible, otherwise, he might not be able to resist smashing him on the head with Mjolnir... Along the way, they saw only weapons, armor, and so on, occasionally some strange objects and rare materials, but nothing that caught Li Yue's eye.

Finally, Thor led Li Yue to the end of Odin's vault. There were only a few items left, each placed on its own dedicated display stand.

These were the most precious artifacts Odin had collected. Any one of them, if brought out, would be an object of contention even for the strongest in the Nine Realms.

"This is the Orb of Agamotto. It can automatically detect and locate powerful magical energies and can reveal any major evil threats. The Orb of Agamotto can also peer into other worlds and dimensions."

Thor pointed to a purple-glowing object, like a crystal ball, and introduced it.

Li Yue carefully examined the item and remembered that it had appeared briefly in the first Thor movie. The Orb of Agamotto, like the Eye of Agamotto, should have been passed down by the ancient Sorcerers of Agamotto on Earth.

But why would Odin have collected it here? Li Yue felt a bit confused!

Seeing that Li Yue was only looking at the Orb of Agamotto with curiosity and didn't express any interest, Thor could only move on to the next item.

"This is the Eternal Flame. It's a spoil of war that Father obtained after defeating the Fire Giant Surtur and stored here. It is said to contain the mysteries of the cosmic fire source and can resurrect life that has lost its physical body, embodying the power of destruction and rebirth!"

Thor pointed to a brazier where flames were burning. Although there was no material to fuel it, and the flames weren't intense, it gave off a feeling that this cluster of flames would never extinguish.

Li Yue knew about this item. Hela used it to resurrect her mount Fenris and her army of the dead. Eventually, Thor himself used it to make Surtur incredibly powerful, which then triggered Ragnarok and destroyed Asgard.

The power of the Eternal Flame was undeniably great, but Li Yue felt it wasn't of much use to him, so he didn't choose it either... Seeing that Li Yue still wasn't very interested, Thor could only continue to introduce the next item.

"Next up is the Sorcerer's Eye. It can see through all things and trace back to the origin of the universe. When used, a third golden eye can appear on the forehead, and when pushed to its limit, it can emit light that pierces through any illusion, an artifact specifically designed to counter the evil forces of the Dark Dimension."

"Thor, how do you know the functions of these items?"

Li Yue was curious about how Thor knew the functions of these items and couldn't help but ask.

Li Yue looked closely at the item. It resembled an eye, with a glowing white orb in the center and a black dot, like a pupil.

A third eye? Isn't this a perfect match for the weapon I'm going to have forged? Should I choose it?

"Of course, my father told me himself. When Loki and I were little, Father often brought us here and told us about some of his conquests in the Nine Realms. But now, Loki, he..."

As Thor spoke, he seemed to recall his brother Loki, whose fate was unknown, and his tone became somewhat melancholic.

"Alright, alright, I get it. Just introduce me to the next one!"

Li Yue helplessly patted his forehead. Why did he ask that extra question? However, Li Yue still felt he should look further and not choose this treasure yet.

"This next item comes from one of your Midgard's oldest civilizations, the Atlantean civilization. It is inscribed with the life equation for biological evolution. According to the evolutionary equation on the life tablet, any user can evolve into the highest form of life, possessing infinite wisdom and extraordinary combat power."

"It's called the Monument of Life and Time. Unfortunately, Father Odin doesn't recognize the writing on it and cannot unlock its mysteries or use it. However, its powerful function still made Father keep it here!"

Thor spoke with a look of regret and sighed, but he didn't hear a sound from Li Yue. He couldn't help but turn to look at Li Yue.

At this moment, Li Yue was completely captivated by the item, his eyes fixed on the unassuming object.

When Li Yue came within a few meters of the item, his body was strongly drawn to it. For some reason, an intense craving surged through his body, causing Li Yue to lose himself for a while before finally regaining his senses.

...

"Thor, I'll take this one!"

Li Yue, now clear-headed, said to Thor with absolute certainty!

"You're not going to look at anything else? You're choosing something unusable?"

Although Thor wished Li Yue would pick some junk and leave, when Li Yue actually chose an unusable item, he couldn't help but remind him.

"This one. No need to look further!"

Li Yue's tone was very firm. The closer he got to the item, the stronger the craving from his body became. Li Yue couldn't resist and reached out his right hand to touch it.

Thor watched Li Yue's actions with great curiosity. Why was Li Yue so eager to possess this item, whose mysteries even his father couldn't unlock, without even bothering to see if there were more suitable artifacts among the remaining ones?

As Thor held his breath and watched nervously, Li Yue's outstretched right index finger touched the monument, but nothing unusual happened.

This made Thor feel rather bored. He had expected something unpredictable to occur.

Just then, a strange scene unfolded: a visible blue energy appeared on Li Yue's fingertip, precisely where it contacted the life monument. The blue energy directly surged into the life monument along his finger.

A blue glow darted wildly within the life monument, as if trying to find a way to escape. But as more and more blue energy poured in, the life monument seemed unable to bear it and was about to shatter.

Boom!!!

Whether it was an illusion or something else, a loud bang echoed in Thor's ears, but there was no sign of an explosion. Only the life monument before them had shattered, turning into countless blue light particles that eagerly surged into Li Yue's palm and vanished.

And Li Yue's body was undergoing unknown, immense changes!
