Skull☆Pop is a paranormal mystery light novel that combines comedy, slice of life, and urban legends with a warm tone and moments of tension and light horror.
The story follows Kanzaki Rika, a curious high school girl obsessed with the occult, who discovers a mysterious book called The Carnival of the Dead. When she opens it, five tiny talking skulls —the Skullies— emerge, connecting her to the spirit world.
Together with her best friend Hirano Saki and Tachibana Rui, they form Skull Pop, a small group dedicated to solving ghostly cases and helping lost souls find peace.
Each case blends Japanese folklore, urban myths, and even elements of pop culture horror that gradually unfold throughout the story.
