Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Splitting Up

"Those guys blew a huge hole in the space station! With a 'Boom—' sound, just like an earthquake. How could you not have noticed?"

March 7th looked at Felicity's completely bewildered face, her expression growing increasingly peculiar.

"Maybe because I was asleep?"

Felicity answered somewhat uncertainly.

After being briefly killed by Herta for who knows how long, she woke up to see two strange people "bullying" that gray-haired girl over there.

"Hey, Dan Heng, do all Emanators have such... enviable sleep quality?"

March 7th looked at Felicity, nudging Dan Heng beside her with her elbow as she whispered her question.

"...Don't be ridiculous."

Dan Heng fell silent for a moment, sighing helplessly as he rubbed his forehead. His gaze returned to Felicity, the wariness and threat now gone from his eyes: "Could you tell us what happened here?"

The surrounding floor was in shambles - Dan Heng even suspected that stomping hard a couple of times would make it collapse naturally. Then there were the scratches covering the walls and the bullets scattered everywhere - it clearly looked like a battle had taken place.

"Well... how should I put this? I'd just woken up when I encountered a wine-red haired woman and a silver-haired... little girl?"

Felicity rested her chin on her hand, humming thoughtfully as she revealed what actually happened:

"I saw them seemingly bullying that girl lying over there, so I fought with them. But they outsmarted me and managed to escape."

"For real?"

March 7th popped her head out again, "To escape unscathed from under a Emanator of Abundance's nose... Wow, Dan Heng, could it be that a Lord Ravager has come?"

"Mr. Yang personally confirmed that there is no Lord Ravager in the vicinity."

Dan Heng glanced at March 7th beside him, dismissing her wild speculation. "Based on Miss Felicity's description, I think there's probably only one organization that fits."

"Who is it?"

Felicity was even more curious than March 7th.

"The Stellaron Hunters."

Dan Heng voiced his conjecture.

"Hmm..."

Just as Felicity was about to ask more questions, the gray-haired girl nearby finally made some movement.

"Ah, I almost forgot we have an injured person here."

Felicity nodded as if suddenly realizing something. She bent down slightly and curiously tapped the gray-haired girl's forehead.

"How is she?"

March 7th immediately inquired.

No one understood "medical examination" better than an Emanator of Abundance, since such beings had nearly touched the essence of life itself.

"She's fine, her vitality is very strong... even exaggeratedly strong."

Felicity blinked and answered truthfully:

"By the way, do you know her? She's not from the space station."

Huh? Really?"

March 7th was startled, gazing at Felicity with wide eyes full of bewilderment.

"We don't know her either."

Dan Heng answered on behalf of March 7th.

"Mmm..."

As they spoke, the gray-haired girl let out another soft murmur, dazedly opening her eyes to see a slender, pale arm.

"She's awake."

Seeing the gray-haired girl open her eyes, March 7th immediately moved closer to Felicity and waved a hand in front of the gray-haired girl's face.

"Are you okay? Can you hear me? Do you remember your name?"

"I..."

The gray-haired girl held her forehead with one hand while using the other to push herself up from the ground, as if struggling to stand. She looked blankly at the two pretty faces crowded in front of her and shook her head.

"...I don't remember anything."

"Geez, that's no way to ask. Let me handle this."

Felicity pushed March 7th aside a bit, confidently patted the gray-haired girl's shoulder, then suddenly adopted a serious expression.

"You're awake. You're the most promising recruit among this batch of newcomers."

"???" x3

"Your novel-like opening is the real problem here!"

March 7th pursed her lips, shot Felicity a sidelong glance, then turned back to the gray-haired girl. "Can you try to remember? Your name is..."

"I'm Stelle."

"Stelle?" Dan Heng nodded calmly. "Hello, I'm Dan Heng. This is March 7th, and she's..."

"I'm Felicity. Hey, rookie, can you hear me?"

"Are you still going with that setting?!"

March 7th retorted.

"Let's just take her to the Master Control Zone first."

Dan Heng suddenly felt a headache coming on. March 7th was already impulsive enough, and now there was someone else who enjoyed stirring up trouble.

They were in the middle of a dangerous battlefield, not on some picnic.

"In that case, you two take her to Asta."

Felicity clapped her hands. Coincidentally, there was something she wanted to check.

Although she had gained control of her powers with Herta's help, she hadn't yet tested her limits.

She looked at Dan Heng. "Speaking of which, you said you were sent by Station Head Asta for rescue, which means there are still people who haven't evacuated, right? Send me the coordinates. I'll go check."

"Right. Arlan from the Security Department lost contact in this area. He should be somewhere around here."

Dan Heng didn't hesitate. Since Asta had specifically mentioned her, she was probably trustworthy. He directly sent Asta's provided coordinates to Felicity, then left with March 7th and Stelle.

After the three departed, Felicity headed toward the coordinate location.

She knew Arlan - quite a likable boy, Asta's direct subordinate.

Herta only used her for experiments, dumping all other miscellaneous tasks on acting station head Asta, so Felicity's daily needs were basically handled by Asta.

Well, being indebted for favors, Felicity became serious.

"All I need to do is find a familiar presence, right?"

Felicity muttered to herself, lifting her head. Her beautiful emerald-green eyes shimmered with a faint glow as countless life forces surged from all directions.

"...In the monitoring room? What a hassle. There are still quite a few unpleasant presences along the shortcut over there."

The young girl clicked her tongue and waved her hand, summoning a flower half her height.

"The life force is fluctuating... Are they injured? ...Never mind. As long as their head hasn't fallen off, they should be salvageable."

Shaking her head to dismiss the wild thoughts, Felicity finally took a step forward.

Pushing the door open, a horrifying scene unfolded before her eyes. The corridor was riddled with scratches and holes, with several spiderweb-like cracks spreading across the metal floor.

Corpses lay scattered on both sides—unfamiliar figures clad in purple armor, likely the Antimatter Legion that March 7th had mentioned.

March 7th and Dan Heng seemed to have moved ahead, having cleared out most of the enemies along this path before leaving. Still, a few stragglers remained.

Felicity raised her head, a slight smile curling at the corners of her lips.
