(PoV Sasuke Uchiha)

The door closed behind Hana with a soft shrrp, and silence returned to occupy the house like a guest who never left. She'd gone to fetch her things — clothes, utensils, probably that herbal tea that smelled like forests and false promises of better days.

As soon as the sound of her footsteps faded into the street, I did what I had to do.

A mental tug — tump — like pulling an invisible cord tied deep in my skull. The clone appeared out of nowhere, materializing in the hallway with that look of someone who'd just woken up from a forced nap. He looked at me. I looked back. No words. Just a nod — and puff — he dispelled the genjutsu I had cast on myself.

The mask dropped.

And man… I breathed.

Haaaa…

Deep. Slow. Like catching your first breath after nearly drowning. My chest filled, my shoulders relaxed, and for two full seconds, I didn't have to pretend I was broken.

Because pretending tires you out. Pretending burns.

But now? Now I had work to do.

I sat on the tatami — tok — and opened my Inventory with a mental touch. The feeling was weird, like sticking your hand into a pocket that doesn't exist and pulling the whole world out of it. Pop. Scrolls fell in front of me like cards from a rigged deck. The scent of old ink, paper that had outlived generations, secrets written by people who no longer breathed.

First on the pile: Sharingan — Fundamentals and Advanced Applications.

I unrolled the scroll. Shaa. The letters danced under the dim lantern light. Techniques of ocular reading, activation timing, chakra consumption, tricks to avoid frying your brain when your eyes spin too fast. I activated the Sharingan — wrrr — and the three tomoe began to turn slowly, capturing every stroke, every comma, every damned period.

Ten minutes. That's all it took.

The information stuck in my mind like gum on a shoe — impossible to remove, even if I wanted to. Photographic memory, enhanced. The advantage of having eyes that see the impossible and a mind that refuses to forget.

I rolled the scroll closed. Clac. Next.

Uchiha Taijutsu — Interceptor Style.

Thicker. Counterattack sequences, predictive movement using the Sharingan before the enemy's body even realizes it's moving. Notes scribbled in the margins — the handwriting of someone who trained until their fingers bled. I absorbed it all. Every kick. Every wrist twist. Every breath between blows.

Then came Kenjutsu.

Ah, that one hurt a little.

Because I have the Sun Breathing. But having it isn't mastering it. It's like owning a Ferrari but not knowing how to shift gears — the car's there, shiny and perfect, but you'll crash on the first corner if you don't train.

I read the twelve basic forms. Posture. Cutting angle. Energy flow through the blade. A sword isn't a tool — it's an extension of your arm, your heart, your intent. I closed my eyes and felt the phantom warmth of Solar Breathing pulse in my ribs, like the sun itself had been swallowed and now lived inside me, waiting to be released.

Next scroll: Fire Release — Advanced Variations.

Gōkakyū no Jutsu, Hōsenka no Jutsu, Ryūka no Jutsu… techniques that turn chakra into a furnace. I memorized the seals, the sequence, the breathing rhythm. Fire doesn't forgive mistakes. Fire is honest — it either burns you or your enemy.

And then I saw it.

Enton. Black Flame Release.

I stopped. Reread. Again.

I have this.

A second Kekkei Genkai, hidden behind the Mangekyō like a secret I didn't even know I was keeping. Flames that don't extinguish. Fire that devours until there's only ash, dust, nothing. But the cost? Mangekyō active. And using it carelessly is like lighting a fuse straight to your eyes.

I shelved that card for later.

I stood — tok — and stretched my arms. Crack, crack. My joints popped like stale popcorn. My body was here, whole, functional… but weak. Too weak for what I needed to become.

And then the idea hit.

Super Regeneration.

If I break the muscle… it rebuilds stronger. Microtears become growth. Pain becomes progress. Basic biology — except I have a shortcut. I can destroy and rebuild in an infinite loop. No rest. No limit.

Accelerated training.

Perfect.

Next step: chakra control. Walking on trees, walking on water — the basics every ninja learns and half forget. But I won't forget. Because control is everything. Power without control is just noise.

And then… there are the girls.

Hana. Kurenai. Anko. Yugao.

They offered training. And honestly? Training alone is dull. Training with someone skilled — someone who can push, correct, see — is a different story.

Besides… getting close to them isn't just strategy.

It's survival disguised as affection.

And then it happened.

Ding!

The sound echoed in my head — sharp, metallic, impossible to ignore. The system. That cosmic gacha that decided my life would be a slot machine.

A translucent window appeared midair, glowing in neon blue.

[1x Legendary Draw]

[2x Gold Draws]

For deceiving the village, you've earned one Legendary Draw.

Tricking serial killers much older and stronger than you… that doesn't happen every day.

Ding!

For convincing older sisters to live with you, you've earned 1x Gold Draw.

That meant I was half a step away from unlocking something new.

Ding!

For bathing with an older sister who likes S%¨#T0, you've earned 1x Gold Draw.

I blinked.

Reread.

"…Seriously?" I muttered to the air.

The system didn't answer. It never does. It just throws cards on the table and leaves you to play the hand.

I sighed.

"Alright. Let's see what fate brought this time."

I mentally tapped the first ticket.

Whrrr… clack!

[Jack of All Trades]

Epic Skill

While this skill is active, your comprehension increases drastically. You only need to read a book once to master its contents. You can mimic martial arts after watching them once. You can learn techniques mid-fight through observation. You acquire and master skills at supernatural speed.

My heart jumped.

This… this was pure gold. Better than gold — platinum.

Next draw. Click.

[Doppel]

Uncommon Familiar

Monster Musume — Doppel is a female(?) doppelgänger with police and military training. As a mimic, she can transform into any living being and recreate clothes she's seen, though her stats remain human-level.

…A shapeshifter.

Useful. Very useful. Espionage, infiltration, perfect disguises. I filed that card in my mental sleeve.

Last draw. Whrrr… clack.

[Cursed Flames]

Rare Skill

Terraria — Allows you to cast green fireballs that don't burn inanimate objects but devour living flesh. When they touch non-living matter, they bounce like rubber and cling to flesh like glue.

Fire that only eats people.

Fire that bounces.

Fire that sticks.

I smiled. Couldn't help it.

"This is gonna be fun."

The screen blinked, showing my active slots:

[Perfect Mangekyō Sharingan - Sasuke]

[Abyssal Energy]

[Super Regeneration]

[Inventory]

Four slots. Four pieces on the board.

And the game… the game had just gotten a lot more interesting.

I leaned my head against the wall — tump — and closed my eyes.

Outside, Konoha slept.

Inside, I planned.

And the roulette of fate?

It kept spinning.

Clack… clack… clack…
