Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Unknown Feelings

Leon sat in front of Cloue.

Leon: "I knew it was you."

Cloue stood up and was about to leave.

Leon: "Wait." (He grabbed her wrist.)

Leon: "Why are you avoiding me? I just want to-"

Cloue: "Let go of me."

Leon: "Eh?"

Cloue pulled away and gave him a glare.

Cloue: "Find someone else."

She hurriedly left.

---

At the supermarket:

Cloue: Hah...

She was buying dinner. As Leon was leaving campus,

Rion: "Leon?"

Leon: Mmm? Hah...

Rion: "Eh? What's... the problem?"

Leon: "Ah..."

---

Back at the residence:

Leon: "Hah... earlier in class, they were studying my dreams."

Rion: "Eh!?"

Faye: "What subject?"

Leon: "Literature."

Rion: "Fiction?"

Leon: "Mmm... But it feels like everything that happened is real."

Faye: "Did you do something to one of the students?"

Leon: "H! She was the one who helped me buy juice."

Rion: "She?"

Leon: "Mmm! But she's so weird."

Rion: "Weird?"

Leon: "She doesn't talk, dresses strangely, always alone, and..."

Rion: "And?"

Leon: "I feel like... I've seen her before. A long time ago."

Faye: "Prince Leon."

Leon: "Mmm?"

Faye: "Are you hungry?"

Leon: "No! Hah... Faye, information on her."

Faye: "Understood."

Rion: "Le...Leon, don't tell me-"

Leon: "What are you saying? It's impossible for me to like her."

Rion: "Mmm! Just remember, there's a princess waiting for you."

Leon: "Ah. I know."

---

Meanwhile, at Cloue's home:

Cloue was studying and came across the book.

Cloue: "It's been a long time... since he..."

---

In the middle of the night, in a dream:

(The scene shifts into a dreamlike state, possibly showing visions or memories tied to the mysterious events and characters.)

---

This chapter delves deeper into Leon's confusion and growing feelings, while Cloue's internal conflict about the book and her dreams intensifies.

Boy: "You don't have to do this!"

Girl: "I'm sorry, but this is the only way... to stop the war."

Boy: "Won't you change your mind?"

Suddenly, Cloue and Leon woke up, both in tears.

Cloue: "Regret..."

Rion: "Prince Leon?"

Leon: Mmm?

Rion: "Your breakfast is ready."

Leon: "Ah... tsk... Why?"

---

At school, Cloue arrived early and went straight to the library to read.

Cloue (reading): "In ancient times, the four kingdoms each had their own ruling lands. The North, South, East, and West, as their territories grew, sought to expand. But the East King was the most greedy of all. He wanted to unite the four kingdoms, while the others wished to remain independent. One day, all the kings blessed a child to be the heir of the next generation: one princess and three princes. Supposedly, it should have been all princes, but an oracle came to the East King, saying that the princess was the key to fulfilling his ambitions."

---

Back in class, Cloue was suddenly bumped by some boys playing catchball, but fortunately, Leon caught her.

Leon: "Are you okay?"

Cloue: "Thanks."

Boy: "Hey! Leon!"

Leon: Mmm... "But before that..."

Boy: "Ah... sorry."

But Cloue just headed to her seat.

Boy: "Tsk... That's why we don't like her."

---

As usual, Cloue sat quietly, staring into space.

Teacher: "Ms. Cloue, could you please read the next paragraph?"

Cloue: "As you can see, a lot of friends were just fooling around, making themselves look silly, but they are the ones enjoying their life to the fullest."

Teacher: "Th... thank you."

Everyone in the class was amazed by her.

---

At lunchtime, Leon noticed that Cloue was heading to the gym, so he followed her.

Girls: "Leon... Let's eat together!"

Leon: "Where did she go?"

Boy: "She just left suddenly."

Girls: "Eh?"

---

Behind the gym:

Mone: "Have you read it?"

Cloue: "Why are you here?"

When Leon heard their conversation, he hid.

Mone: "Is it wrong to hang out with my cousin?"

Leon (thinking): "Cousin?"

Cloue: "What are you planning to do?"

Mone: "Eh? Where?"

Cloue: Hah...

As Cloue stood up,

Mone: "Hey! Wait! I just wanted to-"

Cloue: "Sorry, but my mind won't change."

Mone: "But next week is the exam!"

Cloue: "I have an exam."

Mone: "You can still-"

Cloue: "You can go instead."

Mone: Hah... "Mmm? Are you just starting? What?"

Cloue: "It's only gotten worse."

Mone: "What if you have it checked by a specialist? I'll go with you."

Cloue: "No..."

Mone: "I'll go with you. We'll leave early."

Cloue: Hah...

---

Afternoon class:

Mone: "Excuse me. Ms. Cloue?"

Teacher: "Sir Mone?"

Mone: "Cloue."

Cloue: Hah...

Girl: "Why?"

Teacher: "Ah... she's going for a check-up."

Boy: "Heh~ So she gets sick too?"

Leon: Tsk...

---

At the hospital:

Doctor: "What seems to be the problem?"

Mone: "Doctor, it's about her dreams."

Doctor: "Dreams?"

Mone: "She often dreams about war."

Doctor: "Ah... I know a specialist who deals with that. I'll refer you to him."

Mone: "Thank you very much."

---

In another building:

Mone: "Good afternoon."

Nathiel (21): "Good afternoon."

---

This chapter reveals more about Cloue's mysterious dreams and her reluctance to accept help, while also showing a glimpse of Leon's growing curiosity and possible feelings.

After receiving the referral,

Nathiel: "Ah, you're here. Please have a seat."

Cloue sat down.

Nathiel: "What's your name?"

Cloue: "Cloue."

Mone: "I'm Mone, her cousin."

Nathiel: "So, it's about the dreams. Don't be shy, you can tell me everything."

---

Nathiel: "So, when did the dreams begin?"

Cloue: "Eight years ago."

Nathiel: "That's a long time. What's the first scene you remember dreaming about?"

Cloue: "It's in the middle of a war, with everything around burning."

Nathiel: "And then?"

Cloue: "A man is stopping a woman."

Mone: "Eh?"

Nathiel: "Why is he stopping her?"

Cloue: "To stop the war."

Nathiel: "Do you think they were lovers?"

Cloue: "Mmm... The man doesn't want to let the woman go, but..."

Nathiel: "But?"

Cloue: "The man says something to her."

Nathiel: "What does he say?"

Cloue: 'I promise, I'll return for you.'

Nathiel: "And then?"

Cloue: "I wake up, crying."

Nathiel: "Hmm... So, since you were 7 years old, this has been your recurring dream?"

Cloue: "Mmm."

Nathiel: "Can you feel what the woman feels in the dream?"

Cloue: "Regret... sorrow."

Nathiel: "Based on what you've said, it's possible that she's remembering the memories of her ancestor."

Mone: "Huh?"

Nathiel: "Many people believe in reincarnation and recollection. Reincarnation is when you are reborn repeatedly in different times, while recollection is when the past memories are triggered, even if it's been a long time, through direct descendants."

Mone: "So, you're saying..."

Nathiel: "It's not a disease, but it's rare. The descendant only remembers the past when there's a strong emotion involved, like the regret and sorrow you mentioned. The woman in your dream can't forget the man leaving. But it could affect the mentality and lead to mental health issues."

Mone: "What about Cloue?!"

Nathiel: "She's fine. For the 8 years she's been having these dreams, her mentality is strong. She can resist the intense emotions from the dreams."

Mone: "How can we stop it?"

Nathiel: "I'm sorry, but it's impossible to stop it completely. What you need is a counselor, someone who can help her relieve the stress she's feeling."

Cloue: "It would be better to find the answer."

Mone: "Cloue?"

Nathiel: "That could work, but it's risky. If you try to find the answer, it could make the ancestor's emotions stronger. If that happens, she might even overpower your personality."

Cloue: "Hmph. That won't happen to me."

Nathiel: "Just in case."

Mone: "Do you need a form?"

Nathiel: "You can just come once a week, so we can help relieve some of the emotions. But I'll need parental consent."

Mone: "I'll take care of it."

Nathiel: "We'll continue with the rest next time. I hope you can come back."

---

Later in the afternoon, when they left the hospital,

Cloue: "I'll just change."

Mone: "I'm cooking, you can rest."

Cloue: "I'm not sick."

Mone: "I know."

Cloue: Hah...

In her room, Cloue sat down behind the door.

Cloue: Heh...

---

A whys they ate,

Mama: "You're home-"

Cloue quickly ran to the dining area.

Mama: "Mone!"

Mone: "Auntie~"

Mama: "How have you been?"

Mone: "I'm okay. Let's eat first."

Mama: "Sure."

---

After eating, Cloue washed the dishes while Mone stayed in the living room.

---

This chapter deepens the mystery surrounding Cloue's recurring dreams and hints at the possibility of her being connected to her ancestor's past. It also introduces the idea of a counselor helping her with the emotional strain.

Mone: "Mama?"

Mone: "Did you know Cloue has been dreaming about your ancestor?"

Mama: "Huh? Ancestor?"

Mone: "Yes, ever since Uncle passed away, she's been dreaming repeatedly about the past of your ancestor."

Mama: "Impossible!"

Mone: "That's why I took her to the hospital to see a doctor."

Cloue: "I'll go study now."

Mone: "I'll take care of things here."

Mone then explained everything that happened at the hospital to Cloue's mother.

---

Faye: "Prince Leon?"

Leon: "Mm?"

Faye: "What's going on with her?"

Leon quickly opened the door. While reading through Cloue's information,

Faye: "What's wrong with her?"

Leon: "Mm... There's nothing wrong with her?"

Faye: "No, she's fine."

Leon: "But she went to the hospital earlier today."

Faye: "She's fine, really."

Leon: "Is that so?"

---

The next morning, as Cloue woke up,

Mama: "Why are you... crying?"

Cloue: "It's nothing..."

Mama: "In your dream? I'm sorry."

Cloue: "You're not to blame."

Mama: "But..."

Cloue: "Nothing bad will happen to me."

Mama: "If I can, I'll make some time for you to rest-"

Cloue: "Please, rest. I can take care of myself."

Mama: "Cloue..."

Cloue: "I'm fine, really."

---

On the way to school,

Leon: "Yo!"

(Ignored)

Leon: "Good morning!"

But still, Cloue didn't respond, so Leon kept bothering her until they entered the classroom.

Rion: "So it's him. Plain."

Faye: "Don't judge a book by its cover."

Rion: "Ah..."

---

In the classroom,

Leon: "How was the check-up yesterday?"

But Cloue just kept reviewing her notes.

Girls: "Leon~ Let her be!"

Leon: "But..."

Girls: "Just look at this!"

The girls dragged him away.

Rion: "As expected, the prince is always chased by girls."

Faye: "Hah..."

---

During lunch, the two of them were on the rooftop of a different building.

Leon: "What's-"

Boy: "She's probably eating alone again. Let's head to the rooftop now."

Leon: "Mmm..."

---

Behind the gym,

Mone: "How are you feeling?"

Cloue: "I'm fine."

Mone: "Your aunt cried last night."

Cloue: "I know."

Cloue remembered her mother's puffy eyes from earlier that morning.

Mone: "Is that why you won't tell her?"

Cloue: "It's not necessary."

Mone: "What are you planning to do now?"

Cloue: "I'll find the answer."

Mone: "And do you think it's in the book?"

Cloue: "Not everything written here is true."

Mone: "Then how do you plan to-"

Cloue: "I'll know once I finish reading, but before that..."

Mone: "You still have the exam. Hah... I've already excused you from your teachers."

Cloue: "I don't need that."

Mone: "Cloue..."

---

In the afternoon, Cloue was in the library, studying, while Leon watched her from a distance.

Leon: "Is studying fun? Isn't it boring, always seeing books, papers, and pens?"

(Ignored)

Leon: "Why do you prefer being alone?"

Cloue immediately stood up.

Cloue: "It's quieter."

And she walked away.

Leon: "Quieter..."

---

Back at home,

Cloue: "Why is this happening..."

Meanwhile, as Leon walked back to the mansion,

Rion: "Prince Leon?"

Leon: "Leave me alone for a moment."

Rion: "But that's not possible!"

Then Leon remembered what Cloue had said:

"Cloue: It's quieter."

Leon: "Tsk..."

---

It was exam week.

Teacher: "Eh? Ms. Cloue, aren't you joining us?"

Cloue: "I don't need to."

Teacher: "But you have to-"

Cloue: "Let's just start."

The bell rang.

Teacher: "Hah..."

---

After three subjects,

Teacher: "Ms. Cloue..."

In the faculty room,

Teacher: "If you're worried about the exams, it makes sense that you'd leave."

Leon: "Leave?"

Boy: "Ah~ Every year, they celebrate the anniversary of her father's death, but she never shows up. She always takes the exams in one go to catch up. I don't get it. She seems to care more about her exams than her father."

In the classroom,

Girl: "There she goes again. She barely visits his grave, and still, she can't be bothered? How cruel."

Girl 2: "Even though it's been a long time since her parents passed, she should still show respect."

Boy: "She cares more about her exams."

Boy 2: "True, she has no emotions, so how would she feel?"

---

At lunchtime, students were heading home, but Cloue stayed behind to take all her exams. In the afternoon, when Leon returned to the room, he found Cloue asleep at her desk. He approached her,

Leon: "tears?"

Cloue: "Pa...pa..."

Leon: "Are you... crying?"

He wiped her tears away.

Cloue: "I'm sorry... Papa..."

Leon: "How annoying!"

Leon: "Good morning."

Then he offered her a handkerchief, but she didn't take it and continued packing her things.

Leon: "Why didn't you go?"

Cloue: "Mm?"

Leon: "You wanted to visit your father, didn't you?"

Cloue: "Move."

But Leon blocked her.

Leon: "I won't leave until you answer my question."

---

The tension between Cloue and Leon builds, with Leon pressing Cloue for answers about her emotional state and her connection to her father's anniversary. The emotional struggles are starting to surface more clearly, and Leon's concern is growing.

---

Cloue: Hah.

After she turned away... (grab)

Cloue: Let go of me!

(Slapped)

She slapped Leon, and that's when she noticed Cloue's eyes had tears in them, so... he hugged her.

Leon: Even if it's just for now... don't worry, I won't bother you anymore.

Rion: Prince... Leon?

Cloue couldn't hold it in and cried on Leon's chest. It was 6 PM, and they were walking home.

Leon: It's already late.

Cloue: Why are you still following me?

Leon: Naturally, I can't let you go home alone.

Cloue: Hah... Whatever.

When they reached the house,

Cloue: Go home already, your escorts have been following you for a while now.

Leon: Huh?

Cloue quickly entered the house.

Leon: She's fast. Rion.

Rion: Yes?

Leon: I think... I've found her.

The next day,

Boy: Absent? Well, she doesn't have an exam anymore.

On the rooftop.

Leon: Faye.

Faye: "She's at the train station now."

Leon: That's good.

Rion: Prince, are you sure she's the one you're looking for?

At the train station.

(Bumped)

Cloue: Sorry.

Shiuo (16): Sorry too. Are you okay?

Cloue: Mm.

Shiuo picked up the book.

Cloue: Thank you.

Shiuo: No problem.

Cloue entered, and Shiuo exited the train. After the train left,

Shiuo: I've found you.

Cloue turned around while walking towards a seat. After the exam week, Cloue returned home.

Mama: It's good you decided to go back to the province; your father will surely be happy.

Cloue: Hah...

Mone: By the way, someone will be inspecting the school tomorrow.

Cloue: A transfer student?

Mone: Ah...

Midnight, a dream.

Cleo: Good day, I am Cleo Eastivia.

King of West Kingdom: Welcome to the kingdom, Princess Cleo. By the way, this is...

Leon: Leon, Leon Westeria.

Cleo: I'm pleased to meet you.

King: Think of this kingdom as your second home.

Cleo: Thank you so much.

In the morning,

Cleo: The first... meeting. "Cleo." Hah...

When she woke up (bang).

Mama: Cloue?

She quickly went to her room.

Mama: Cloue!

Cloue: Hah... Hah... Hah...

Mama: Your fever's really high. Rest for now, I'll just call the company to-

Cloue: Please go in.

Mama: But-

Cloue: I can... do it.

Mama: Child...

Cloue: Don't... worry...

She fell back asleep. In the living room.

Mama: Sorry.

Mone: No problem. I'll handle it.

Mama: Thank you.

Back in the room,

Mama: I'll try to come home early. The medicine and water are beside you, and I cooked something for you, just heat it up.

Cloue: Mm... You'll be late.

Mama: Call me if you need anything.

Cloue: Mm... Be careful.

When the door closed, Cloue rested again and...

(A dream)

Leon: Aren't you suffocating in your room?

Cloue: Your Highness.

Leon: It's just Leon. My name is Leon.

Cloue: But-

Leon: I have something to show you.

They went outside and he took her to a hill full of flowers.

Cloue: It's... beautiful~

Leon: Isn't it?

He stared at Cloue.

Cloue: Mmm?

Leon: This is one of my favorite places.

(end of dream)

She woke up again.

Cloue: Wa... ter.

Mone: Is my lecture boring, Mr. Leon?

Leon just stared out the window.

Leon: Ah... S-Sorry.

Mone: Hah...

At 10 AM, Cloue was reading a book. Lunch time,

Mone: I'll be stepping out for a moment.

Teacher: Hm. Sure, please give my regards to her.

Mone: Thank you.

He hurried to see Cloue.

Shiuo: Excuse me.

Teacher: Ah... come in.

At the window of the room,

Leon: Mm?

He saw Mone leaving the campus.

Leon: "Cloue."

(Ding dong)

Cloue: Who... is it?

Mone: It's Mone.

Cloue heard Mone go inside.

Mone: Hey!

At the dining table,

Cloue: Hah...

Mone: You're really something else.

Cloue: Once you're done eating, you can leave.

Mone felt Cloue's forehead and...

Mone: You still have a fever, but it doesn't seem like you're in pain.

Cloue: Are you teasing me?

Mone: Ah... I'll heat this up so you can eat later.

Cloue: I... had... a dream...

Mone: Eh?

Cloue: The first... meeting...

Mone: Have you taken your medicine?

Cloue: Tsk...

---

Mone: That's why you're getting sick.

Cloue: My dream has nothing to do with it. I was just forced to go back to the province.

Mone: Ge...

Cloue: I should have just rested.

Mone: You... had to go.

Cloue: It's your fault.

Mone: Sorry.

Cloue: "Cleo."

Mone: Huh?

Cloue: "Cleo Eastivia." Even in the book.

She showed it and wrote it down on paper.

Mone: "Cleo." Wait! Don't tell me you've been reading!? You should be resting!

Cloue: I don't want to see it.

Mone: Huh?

Cloue: The time has passed, and it still isn't peaceful.

Mone: It's better if you rest now. I'll take care of the dishes.

Cloue: I don't want to.

She eventually fell asleep on the sofa, so Mone carried her to the room. Outside, Leon saw Mone carrying Cloue and laying her down.

Leon: Tsk...

Mone removed Cloue's braid and...

Mone: Your hair has grown long...

He gently held it, then kissed her. After leaving the house,

Mone: What are you doing here, Your Highness?

Leon: Is it wrong to visit a friend?

Mone: "Friend"?

Leon: How is she?

Mone: Don't worry, she's resting now.

In the afternoon,

Mone: I'll go ahead.

Teacher: Ah... Sir, about the scouting?

Mone: Let's do it tomorrow.

Teacher: Hah...

Boy: Leon, let's go home together.

Leon: Sorry, I still have somewhere to go.

Boy: Huh?

They hurried to leave. At Cloue's house,

(Ding dong)

Cloue: Who-

She collapsed.

Mone: Cloue!? Cloue!

In her room, Leon was standing watch while Mone was making tea in the kitchen.

Cloue: Le...on...

Leon: Huh?

Mone: After your tea, you can leave.

Leon: Heh~ Is this how you treat your guest?

Mone: Hmph.

Cloue: Tu...big...

The two rushed to her, but...

Cloue: Why are you... here?

Leon: Huh?

Mone: Didn't I tell you I would come back?

Cloue: Go away.

Leon: Heh...

Cloue: I didn't say... to visit me.

Leon: Huh?

Cloue: How did you... get in?

Mone: Don't you remember...?

Cloue: Ah... I was walking... towards the hill...

Mone: Hill?

Leon: Sleepwalking?

Mone touched Cloue's forehead and...

Mone: Your fever hasn't gone down.

Cloue: Just leave.

Mone, Leon: No way!

Cloue: Tsk...

Mone: Cloue, please...

Mama: Cloue!

Mone: Aunt...

Leon: Good afternoon, ma'am.

Mama: Huh?

Cloue: Hah... Please make them leave.

Mone, Leon: Huh?

In the living room,

Mama: Please forgive her.

Leon: It's no problem.

Mone: Aunt, how about we take her to-

Mama: She has a high fever, doesn't she?

Mone: Yes.

Mama: Mm... It should be gone later.

Mone: But-

Mama: Maybe you upset her earlier?

Mone: I was just checking on her condition.

Mama: Thank you. You're the first classmate to visit her.

Leon: Really?

Mama: Didn't you notice?

Leon: Mmm...

Mama: Thank you.

Later,

Leon: I'll be going home now.

Mama: What if you stay here-

Mone: Your parents must be worried about you, it's better if you head home.

(Smack) He was tapped on the head.

Mone: Ouch~ Aunt, why?

Leon: Thank you for inviting me. I'll come again next time.

Mama: I'll be waiting. Take care.
