Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Walking Hand in Hand

Kakashi merely stood with his hands in his pockets and said coolly, "I'll remind you, we're in a classroom. If you don't want to be punished by the teacher, feel free to attack me. I promise I'll only dodge."

Obito immediately deflated like a punctured ball, completely helpless. He just gritted his teeth and squeezed out three words.

"Ka! Ka! Shi!"

Kakashi, however, turned around and sat in the empty seat in front of Rin, reminding her.

"The teacher will be here soon. Get ready for class."

Obito was startled and glanced at the classroom door. Where was the teacher?

But the next moment, Chunin Teacher Inaka Tsuki, with a bowl cut and a Konoha Ninja forehead protector, walked in.

Obito clenched his fists tightly. Damn it, was Kakashi's sensory ability already that strong? He hadn't sensed anything.

The path to catching up with Kakashi was long and arduous. Obito reluctantly returned to his seat, feeling very unwilling.

Rin quietly watched the scene, finding it wonderful to see Obito and Kakashi bickering.

However, she immediately remembered the information recorded in her notebook: the Uchiha Residential District was filled with corpses lying haphazardly.

Hopefully, Obito wouldn't become one of the dead and could continue to live such a peaceful life... At this moment, the Chunin Teacher had already stepped onto the podium. After all the students were in their places, he began to speak.

"Yesterday, I talked about the basic knowledge of Ninjutsu and the importance of Chakra. Today, I'll talk about the code of conduct for the Ninja profession, and most importantly... the will of fire."

"You must remember, a Ninja's first rule is to complete missions. A Ninja who cannot complete missions is just a good-for-nothing!"

"But while completing missions, we must also protect our comrades' safety as much as possible."

"Repeat after me: Where the leaves of Konoha dance, the fire burns on. The fire's light will continue to illuminate the Village, and allow new leaves to sprout..."

As the teacher spoke voluminously, Rin couldn't help but look at Obito, noticing that he was listening much more attentively in this class than yesterday.

Yesterday, when the basic knowledge of Chakra was being taught, Obito was sleeping sounder than anyone.

Unlike now, his eyes sparkled with a light, a light named dreams and hope... Soon, the class ended. Afterwards, another teacher took over and led everyone to an outdoor class.

The outdoor class included all the skills a Ninja needed. Obito performed very poorly, while Kakashi always stood out from the crowd... As Higurashi began to set, the day's classes at the Ninja Academy ended. Rin didn't forget the main task; she wanted to follow Obito to the Uchiha Clan Grounds to observe the environment there and see if there was a way to break the situation.

Before she could go look for Obito, he excitedly came to find her first.

"Rin, is our previous agreement still on?"

Rin smiled and nodded, "Of course, that's something I asked you to do."

Obito jumped with excitement, then took Rin's hand, "Then come with me, Rin. How about we go to and from school together from now on?"

Rin was quite used to holding hands with Obito, as they had done it countless times. She just said with some difficulty, "But our homes aren't really on the same path. I can only occasionally come find you."

Obito, however, said, "It's okay. At worst, after school, I'll walk you home first, and then wait for you at your house in the morning."

Rin didn't believe him at all. "Obito, first, try not to oversleep in the mornings. When have we ever gone out to play without you being late?"

Obito's face flushed, and he couldn't help but raise a hand to scratch his head. "Is that so? Haha, I'll definitely pay attention from now on."

Rin, however, didn't want to delay. She took Obito's hand and walked ahead. "Come with me. I hope to reach the Uchiha Clan Grounds before the sun sets."

With Rin's small hand in his, Obito felt incredibly happy.

The two walked hand in hand, chatting about various things, and soon arrived at the main entrance of the Uchiha Clan Grounds.

The path leading to the Uchiha Clan Grounds gate was not particularly wide. Rin had walked it many times before, due to often coming to find Obito.

However, this time she stopped, looking at the rather quiet surroundings, and asked, "Obito, is there no other way to get to the Uchiha Clan Grounds?"

Obito asked strangely, "There's always only been this path, since there's only one main gate."

Rin, however, remembered that in that game, she was killed right here by a group of Ninja, possibly from "Root."

She said with some concern, "But what if something unexpected happens? For example, if this path is blocked by bad guys, wouldn't all the Uchiha Clan members be unable to leave?"

Obito, however, dismissed it, "Who would dare block the Uchiha Clan's gate? If they dared, they'd turn to ashes the next day."

Rin's body trembled. Normally, that would indeed be the case, but why was it arranged that way in the game?

She murmured, "I hope so."

After a pause, she suddenly remembered the figure who seemed to have activated the Mangekyo Sharingan.

Since he possessed the Sharingan, it meant that person was also a member of the Uchiha Clan.

Rin couldn't help but ask, "So, what if the ones blocking the path are people from your Uchiha Clan?"

Obito was stunned. He had never considered such a question and didn't know how to answer for a moment.

Rin's thoughts, however, became clearer.

Indeed, with the Uchiha Clan's strength, it would be difficult for outsiders to commit such a massacre. But what if it wasn't done by outsiders?

Rin thought for a moment and asked, "Obito, do you remember where there's a utility pole in your Clan Grounds? I want to go see it."

Obito was surprised. "A utility pole? There actually is one, standing outside the Residential District. Rin, you want to visit a utility pole? That's really a strange idea."

However, no matter where they went, as long as Rin was with him, he would be content.

So, he took Rin's hand and said, "Rin, come with me."

The two soon reached their destination.

Rin couldn't help but look up at the somewhat solitary utility pole, standing at the entrance of the Residential District.

She sighed, "The view from up there must be excellent. You can see the entire Uchiha Clan Grounds."

No wonder that figure stood on the utility pole. Was he observing the Uchiha Clan for any stragglers?

Rin suddenly felt an urge: "Obito, I want to stand up there and see."

Obito didn't expect Rin to make such a request. He looked at the height of the utility pole. Although he really wanted to agree with Rin, he still said, "Rin, it's too high. It's very dangerous."

Seeing this, Rin also felt that climbing up would be extremely difficult, and if she lost her footing slightly, she could easily fall.

She had to temporarily abandon this dangerous idea and instead said, "Then let's go see the Police Force Department?"

Obito didn't know why Rin was interested in visiting the Uchiha Clan today. Was it because Rin wanted to learn more about him?

He said excitedly, "No problem, let's go now."

And so, the two walked together, all the way to the entrance of the Police Force Department.

Rin looked at the impressive building, at the people coming and going at the Police Force Department entrance, and watched many people walk in grumbling and then walk out obediently.

Suddenly, she raised her hand and pointed to a window on the second floor.

"Obito, tell me, could one person stand in that position and fight their way through the entire Police Force Department?
