Chapter 4 - My Cheat is here II

The little celebration was over as Mike returned to his room. He sat on the bedside and then said, "Status."

[ Initializing… ]

Seeing his status screen, Mike couldn't help but grin a lot as he saw it and then looked at the talent section blinking.

"Infinite SSS Gacha… What is this?" He mumbled as he pressed on it to see more info about it.

[Infinite SSS Gacha: Randomly gains any SSS-rank talent for one week]

[Resets every week, and you can keep one talent permanently, but only either

The temporary talent or permanent talent can be used once you switch them.

 Switch cooldown: 24 hours

[ Current Temporary Talent: None (Weekly gacha available {1/1}) ]

[ Permanent Slot: {1/1} ]

Mike let out a weird sound as he looked around his room repeatedly.

"Damn, is this real?" He shook his head but still pinched his cheeks just to be sure.

"Is this my cheat? Damn, my cheat is finally here!"

He was no longer able to stay quiet as he shouted out loud, while in the next room Misty wondered what Mike was shouting about. Downstairs, his parents just thought he was happy and now shouting crazily because of his awakening, so they ignored him.

Just as Mike was about to yell again in excitement—

Knock! Knock!

Misty slammed her fist on his door.

"Brother! What is the good thing? Share it with me!"

Her voice was half-curious, half-excited.

Mike froze for a second.

He forgot about the little spoiled princess.

He hurriedly cleared his throat. "N-Nothing! I was just… excited about my cool skills!"

Misty clicked her tongue loudly from outside.

"Tch! And I thought you got a lottery."

"Don't shout if it's nothing important," she said as she left.

Mike just shook his head.

"Damn… one hell of a spoiled sister I got," he muttered and then checked his other skills.

[ Weapon Master ]

[ Rank: Basic ]

[ Increases all weapon power by 5% ]

"Hm, 5% increase… Well, it is just a basic skill, I guess," he mumbled, remembering from original Mike's memories that skills are divided into Basic, Adept, Mastery, and Perfect Mastery, and with each increase in mastery rank, the effectiveness of the skill increases.

[Valor Surge: A knight never runs from a challenge.

[ Rank: Basic ]

[ Increases the attack power of the next skill attack by 100%. ]

[ Skill Cooldown: 30 seconds ]

[Knight's Mount]

[ Rank: Basic ]

Allows a knight to subdue and bond a beast to themselves.

Once bound, the mount beast becomes immortal with infinite lives.

but its combat effectiveness gets decreased by 50%.

[ Current Mount Slot: 1/1 ]

"All the starter skills of the Knight class… And now, time to check what talent I will get," Mike read as he pressed on the weekly gacha under his talent tab.

Just as he did, a shining wheel appeared in front of him. It was sectioned like a pie, and each section had a talent name. As the wheel began to spin, Mike watched to see where it would land. He wasn't worried at all—he knew whatever talent he got would be SSS-rank, which meant whatever it was, it would be a powerful one.

The wheel spun faster—whirr, whirr, whirr—then suddenly slowed.

Mike leaned forward, pupils trembling with excitement.

Click… click… click…

The wheel stopped.

And the title flashed brightly in front of him:

[ Weekly Talent Acquired: SSS-Rank—Absolute Body: Limitless Growth ]

[Absolute Body: Limitless Growth]

An SSS-tier enhancement talent.

• Physical stats grow permanently at 3× the normal rate.

• Training efficiency increases by 500%.

• All fatigue and minor injuries recover 10× faster.

• Allows the user to break natural human limitations repeatedly.

Duration: 7 Days (Temporary Talent)

You may choose to keep this permanently when the weekly reset occurs.

"Damn, as expected of an SSS-class talent." Mike nodded, happy, smacking his lips.

"Great. With this, I can train a lot before visiting the Origin World. As it is random, who knows whether I end up in an exceptionally challenging zone?" he whispered as he hyped himself up. Since he only had it for one week, he needed to make full use of it.

"Mom, Dad, I am going to the Training Arena immediately! Before going to Origin World," he said.

His father said, "Okay, son, but don't overexert yourself."

Mike nodded, but suddenly his phone rang.

[ 50,000 credits have been added to Mike Vester's ID. ]

Mike blinked at the sudden notification as he looked at his dad, confused. His father just shooed him out of the house.

"Don't worry! We saved it to get you a good cultivation seed. But now that you are awakened, it's not needed anymore—so use it well. It was for you anyway," he said, closing the door on his son's face.

Mike stood outside a moment, eyes trembling a little.

He felt… touched. Loved—

"This is my best day…" he whispered, grinning as he clenched his fists again.

He changed clothes, grabbed his things, and practically skipped toward the Training Arena.

It wasn't complicated—just government-funded and found in all cities, where all supernaturals trained or mastered forms. Most of the top fighters in the city used it too.

Soon after arriving, he showed his SNA-registered ID. On the way home from school he had registered it—since that was standard procedure—and he also got the 15k-credit monthly subsidy from there. The staff had told him that if he couldn't advance to Rank 2 or simply reach Level 101+ in the given time, he would stop receiving the benefits.

But if he did rank up within the time limit, he would gain 150k credits, and the time period for benefits would be extended for another year.

Such was the benefit given to awakeners, as they were considered "cheat-like characters" who could grow extremely fast.

After showing his ID to the guard there, they allowed him into the Training Center of his city—Westhood City. It was a Rank 1 city, which meant the city's highest-rank dungeon gate was Rank 1.
