It had been an uneventful week for Diane. It's been over two weeks since Dravon had been declared missing, or even dead by assumption. And days since Kail Ravenforth had sent the very last search party led by Kaelion Kail. It had looked promising, as there have been reports of Dravon being seen over the northern border.
While it might have seemed like false information, the Duke was not willing to lose any chances of bringing his son back home. Yet no news had been received from the troupe.
Diane stared out of the window and into the garden at its far end. She thought of the husband she never met and one she probably would never get to meet. What would be her fate if he were actually dead?
Mira had been in the kitchen hallway snickering about nothing with Juri. Even from where she stood, she could hear their hushed laughs.
She felt constricted even with the ample air seeping in through the open windows.
