Chapter 1 - Prologue 1: Before the story begins

Alright.

Before we start this story properly, there are a few things you should understand about how reality works. Yes, I know. Cosmic explanations are usually boring.

But trust me — this one matters.

You see, reality isn't just one universe.

It's… layered.

Universes gather together into multiverses.

Multiverses themselves exist inside even larger cosmic structures.

Those structures overlap, intersect, and occasionally crash into each other in ways that would give most scientists a permanent migraine.

Think of it like a ridiculous set of cosmic nesting dolls.

One universe inside another.

Then another.

Then another.

And somewhere inside that absurd cosmic mess…

is the universe where this story takes place. But to understand why that universe matters…

we have to go back to the beginning.

The First Dragon

Long before planets existed…

Before stars filled the sky…

Before time had even decided which direction it wanted to flow…

There was light.

Not sunlight.

Not starlight.

Just raw creation.

From that first explosion of existence, something awakened. A being born from pure magic. A creature of immeasurable power.

The Dragon.

When the Dragon breathed, its fire spread across the newborn cosmos.

That fire became magic.

And magic became the foundation of everything that followed.

Stars ignited.

Galaxies formed.

Worlds began to appear.

Among those worlds was one that would eventually be known as Sparks, the heart of magical civilization in its universe. For ages beyond counting, the Dragon wandered the universe it had helped bring into existence. Until eventually…

it rested.

The Dragon's body faded into the reality it had created. But its power did not vanish. Instead, two remnants of its divine existence remained behind.

Two legendary sources of power.

The Dragon Flame.

The power of life, creation, and warmth.

And

The Dragon Pearl.

A counterpart embodying storm, frost, control, and the quiet balance beneath chaos.

From these two forces, entire civilizations would rise. And among those civilizations… one royal bloodline would inherit the Dragon's legacy more strongly than any other.

The royal family of Domino.

The Primordials and the Gods

The Dragon was not the only ancient being born in those early days. As reality expanded, other powerful entities began to appear. Some were born directly from the raw forces of creation itself. These beings became known as Primordials. Embodiments of concepts older than civilization.

Time.

Void.

Water.

Night.

Chaos.

Even the Dragon was considered one of them. The primordial of magic. Later, as life spread across the universe, belief itself began to shape reality. Entire civilizations started worshipping powerful beings. Some spirits grew stronger from that belief. Some Primordials took interest in mortal worlds, and each other. Eventually having descendants

Others simply pretended to be divine because it came with excellent benefits. Those beings eventually became known as gods. Which, if we're being honest, is mostly just a fancy title meaning:

"Extremely powerful entity that mortals decided to worship."

Some gods ruled vast pantheons. Others wandered the cosmos doing whatever they pleased. And a few…

became legendary troublemakers.

One particularly infamous example would be a certain monkey who once declared himself the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.

Yes.

That monkey. If you know the story, you know exactly who I mean. If you don't… well, let's just say immortals, dragons, and heaven itself had a very bad time dealing with him.

The Shadow in Creation

But balance has a habit of attracting opposition. Where the Dragon created life… Something else stirred within the deepest darkness of existence. A void older than most stars. A force so destructive that even demons avoided it.

Some legends would eventually call it Darkar. Others referred to it as the Shadow Phoenix. Whatever its true nature was, it desired the Dragon's power. Not simply to destroy it. But to corrupt it. At some point in the distant past, that darkness attempted exactly that.

It tried to claim the Dragon's power for itself. The clash between those forces shook reality. The Dragon remained victorious. But the conflict left scars. Fragments of corrupted energy spread throughout the universe. Dark magic was born.

Artifacts were also born from that clash. Among them were the infamous Chaos Pearls. Relics capable of overwhelming even the strongest magical defences. Some sentient some not. Stories of that ancient battle and its aftereffects spread across countless civilizations.

Over time they evolved into and led to the creation of myths. Legends of dragon princes commanding storms. Demon children who could rival gods. Sea dragons powerful enough to challenge heaven itself. And even the reparation of the heavens and the birth of that monkey.

Reality, as it turns out, tends to inspire some very strange folklore.

Magic and the Human World

As magic spread throughout the universe, life adapted to it in different ways. Some creatures became elemental spirits. Others evolved into demons or celestial beings. Many developed the ability to wield magic naturally.

Fairies.

Witches.

Sorcerers.

Elemental races.

Entire magical societies rose and fell across the stars. Earth was once part of that magical world. Long ago, humans lived alongside magical beings without much trouble. But humans have always had a complicated relationship with things they don't understand.

Fear eventually replaced curiosity. Events like the Inquisition made things significantly worse. Magical beings were hunted. Persecuted. Burned. Which, historically speaking, was not humanity's finest moment. The creator… was not pleased.

Over time most magical races abandoned Earth entirely. They moved to other worlds where they could live freely. Like the elves sailing the sea of stars. But their influence never fully disappeared. Magic itself also… changed.

For reasons that scholars still argue about, magical energy gradually began to favour women more strongly than men. Female magic users developed stronger natural connections to magic.

Fairies.

Witches.

Enchantresses.

Male magic users still existed, of course. But they were far less common. And most magical societies eventually adapted to that imbalance.

Which explains why magical schools across the universe tend to have a lot more girls than boys. No one has ever figured out exactly why magic developed that bias.

The universe apparently has a sense of humor.

The Scattered Royal Family

Thousands of years after the Dragon shaped the universe, its legacy still lived on. Most strongly within the royal family of Domino. Their bloodline carried a direct connection to the Dragon Flame. For generations they protected the balance of magical civilization.

But even the most powerful kingdoms can fall.

And when Domino was attacked…

its royal children were scattered across the universe.

One became a wandering nymph.

One was hidden away on Earth.

One disappeared entirely.

And one…

would eventually find himself on a frozen wasteland on a distant world called Dyamond.

But that part of the story comes later. Because right now, we're still missing one very important piece of the puzzle. The main character.

And unfortunately for him…

his story begins the way many interesting stories do. With a completely normal person having a very bad day. Specifically…

the day he died.
