Chapter 45 - The Everyday World

Morning.

Kiana Kaslana used Honkai energy to create a pure white gown upon herself.

"Good morning, Lady Kiana~"

Kuroka and Shiryo, wearing black and white kimonos respectively, stood before her with their hands folded before their chests, bowing respectfully.

Of the two sisters, the younger was already a pseudo-Herrscher, while the elder remained a Stigmata user—just a step away from evolution.

"Shiryo, you're close to evolving. You can go absorb Honkai energy and continue your cultivation," Kiana said.

"Y-yes, Lady Kiana," Shiryo replied, nodding quickly.

Kuroka smiled sweetly. "Sister, you have to work hard and become a pseudo-Herrscher soon."

"Mhm."

At her sister's words, Shiryo nodded seriously.

She knew her talent wasn't as strong as her younger sister's—it would take her more time to reach that stage.

Their cultivation method was a modified version of Honkai martial arts from the Honkai universe, adapted to this world.

Kiana Kaslana rested her slender finger beneath her chin.

Only those with unshakable will could fully master and contain the Honkai energy within them.

The key was endurance—the ability to maintain control over one's own Honkai energy.

As long as one's will was firm enough, evolution was possible.

She had tested it before: if someone's senses were cut off and Honkai energy was injected into them—

The result was always the same.

They couldn't perceive the Honkai energy within them—and didn't even know how they died.

Without perception, there could be no control.

"I get it, you don't need to say another word."

Shiryo pouted adorably and glared playfully at Kuroka.

Her sister was just too cute.

Kuroka giggled softly, covering her mouth.

Kiana Kaslana watched the two sisters' playful interaction, a faint, tender smile curving her lips.

Their sisterly bond was truly heartwarming.

By comparison, her own two daughters—

Bronya.

Sirin.

Their relationship... had always been rather strained.

...

Honkai Academy.

Headmaster's Office.

Bang!

The office door burst open as Bronya strode inside.

Sirin looked up, frowning at the intrusion. "Would you please knock?"

Bronya ignored her completely, walking over to the sofa and dropping into it without a word.

Sirin's eyes followed her sister, lingering upon her.

She had to admit—her little sister's figure was quite... impressive.

Bronya immediately noticed Sirin's gaze.

Crossing her arms, she smirked faintly. "Sister, are you perhaps... captivated by me?"

Sirin blinked, caught off guard, before recovering with an indignant snort.

"Well, I was just admiring your figure. Can't I look?"

She rolled her eyes.

This time, it was Bronya's turn to freeze.

Was that real? Her proud, aloof sister... actually giving a compliment?

After a moment, Bronya changed the subject. "Mother must've already told you, right?"

"You mean... about conquering the new world?"

"What else could it be?"

This time, Bronya would command the main assault for the new world's conquest, while Sirin would serve as support.

"Mom told me to assist you, but I'm not really sure what I can do."

"I've never led a world conquest before. I don't even know how to start."

"Don't ask me," Sirin said, shrugging. "When we fought in this world, I just followed Mom's orders."

Seeing her sister's innocent, untroubled expression, Bronya sighed.

Sister, you're completely unreliable...

"Mom... conquered this world by force, didn't she?"

"Mm..." Bronya nodded thoughtfully.

If she was to claim the next world, its inhabitants would surely resist.

That left only one path—

Conquest through strength.

Having come from the military, she knew better than anyone what truly made people obey—

The weapon in one's hand.

"If you need my help, just tell me," Sirin said. "Mom told me to assist you, after all."

"Mm." Bronya nodded in acknowledgment.

Bronya looked at Sirin. Though the two often bickered, once she had grown used to her tsundere sister, she found her undeniably adorable.

However, lately her proud sister seemed a little less... tsundere.

She was maturing—growing up.

Though her outward appearance hadn't changed—still the same small, charming figure—there was a subtle shift in her demeanor.

From their mother, Bronya had learned that she and her sister Sirin were fundamentally different.

Sirin had been killed once by humans.

Her current body had been reconstructed by their mother using pure Honkai energy.

Bronya, on the other hand, had evolved from a human into a Herrscher by absorbing her mother's Honkai energy.

Speaking of it—her original world's entire human civilization had been placed into the Stigmata Space by that man named Kevin, to live within dreams.

Had she not been taken away, she too would be sleeping within that eternal illusion.

For many among the lower classes, living within a dream wasn't necessarily a bad fate.

If she had still been in the army, Bronya might have longed for the same—an untroubled dream life free from pain.

...

Honkai Fantasy.

Bronya and Sirin entered a virtual world together.

"So this is the game system Mom made?"

Bronya traced her finger through the air, pulling up a translucent blue game interface.

As an administrator, she could access many hidden functions.

The virtual world served merely as a transit hub.

From here, one could load into other worlds.

The avatars were bodies constructed entirely of nanomaterials. Upon death, they would collapse into heaps of silver sand.

"Sister, I'll go ahead first," Bronya said, tapping to enter the game.

In the new world, nanomaterials were limited—only enough to create three bodies.

Within a toy factory filled with assembly lines, Bronya's form emerged from a pool of silver sand.

Her avatar's appearance defaulted to her real one.

Kiana Kaslana had hesitated over whether to include a face-customization system.

With the chaotic creativity of players, if she added such a feature, there was no telling what kinds of bizarre, monstrous designs they might come up with.

Instead, the system featured a disguise function.

Thanks to the flexibility of nanomaterials, users could alter their form anytime and anywhere—at the cost of computational power.

Bronya opened the map to examine her surroundings.

It was a modern world of firearms and technology—peaceful, stable, and mundane.

A world of ordinary daily life.

Kiana Kaslana wasn't even sure which anime world it belonged to.

There were simply too many ordinary, everyday worlds to count.
