Chapter 1 - Prologue: Agony

THIRD PERSON'S POV

The big city streets were bustling as usual, cars filled the road with heavy traffic. It was noon and everyone seemed to have somewhere to be while pedestrians hustled their way across and away from the busy road.

Just down the corner of a street, not quite busy as the highways, a little girl sat at the front of a candy cart, pink cotton candy in her hands as she bit at it slowly, savoring the taste. No one was skeptical as to why she was alone, people carried on with their business as the little girl busied herself with her candy. It was quite sunny yet the little girl had on a yellow raincoat and red boots with her blonde hair styled in pigtails. She had questioned her dad about the raincoat, but he insisted there would be rain today so she agreed and here she stood at the quiet sidewalk close to a candy cart waiting for her parents to arrive and take her home.

And just then among all the noisy engines and cars moving down the street, she saw her parent's gray truck driving towards her and the minute they could reach her, the car engine revved and the tires screeched.

Red.

Smoke filled the air as the car pulled to a stop. Both her parents were dead. Their blood splattered on their windscreen, people gathered at the scene. Yet, she stood there with her candy, quietly biting at it and savoring the sweetness. She waited, and when she realized her parent's car wasn't getting closer, she moved to the scene. She wriggled through the crowd trying to reach her parents and then she realized what had happened.

Bloom saw the side of our father's head smashed to the window, the blood on the window, making it hard for her to make out his features. Her candy fell to the ground as tears streamed down her face no one had prepared her for the tragedy that occurred that day. The police had came with an ambulance, they brought her parents out of the car and had them checked before they left they signaled as there was no sign of life. Her parents were gone, and no one knew who she was. She also didn't know what to say as she was selectively mute and the only people she has spoken to were her parents.

She would find her way home if only she remember the streets or knew how to drive a car, but she was just eight stranded on the streets watching the scene unfold with her candy at her feet.

Life has started too early for Bloom to comprehend.

Amidst all the ruckus caused by the accident, Bloom had not failed to miss the shadow like creature at the top of a building. It seemed like it had shifted and disappeared and yet she caught the sight of blood on its feet.

And then the rain came, washing the blood away and Bloom stood at the scene, people walked by but no one seemed to care why a little girl was under the rain.
