Chapter 9 - 9

Chaldea.

This was the second time Fury had heard that name; the first was from Coulson.

And now he had more detailed information.

Humanity Preservation Organization!

"If you've been protecting the World, why have I never heard of you?" Fury naturally wouldn't believe it so easily. "S.H.I.E.L.D. has the most comprehensive information database in the World; anything humanity has investigated is recorded."

"Because in most cases, we are only observing."

Shen He reached out and once again patted the mech behind him. This time, the giant mech vanished into thin air.

"Observing what?" Fury asked in a deep voice.

Regardless, the miraculous methods the other party displayed were extraordinary.

Just this giant mech alone would require immense resources to build.

"Observing you." Shen He pondered for a moment, seemingly organizing his words. "The purpose of Chaldea's establishment is to ensure the long and resilient continuation of human history. We have no interest in internal human conflicts, nor do we intend to protect World peace, because war is already an inseparable part of human history. Earth has many Guardians, so up until now, most of what we have done is observe and record."

"Many Guardians?"

Fury immediately grasped the key point from Shen He's words.

"The Asgardian gods protect Earth from alien threats; a group of reclusive mages defend against dark creatures from other dimensions. Honestly, your S.H.I.E.L.D. is the most short-tempered and useless of the organizations protecting Earth." Shen He stretched, beginning to think about how to end the conversation.

He only had so much information in his head, and it had all been extracted at once. How would he play in the future?

"What about you?" Fury's remaining single eye stared sharply at Shen He. "Since you're just observing, why are you appearing now?"

And he wasn't even hiding his tracks. Publicly fighting with a giant mech on the street didn't seem like the behavior of an organization hidden in the shadows.

"We..." Shen He narrowed his eyes slightly. "Are you sure you want to know?"

"Of course."

Fury's tone was firm.

"Alright, our prophet foretold a great disaster that even the Guardians couldn't handle, so we had no choice but to step in ourselves. Don't say it's cliché." Shen He stepped past the bald man and clasped Tony's shoulder. "Hey, let's discuss something. You let us have a few rooms in your Villa, and I'll let you study my mech, how about it?"

"You're willing to let me study your mech?" Tony was surprised.

Shouldn't these mysterious organizations all guard their technology as incredibly important?

"Of course, but don't break it. This mech is the only defensive weapon I brought." Shen He smiled. "By the way, I have good news for you. In our prophet's prediction, you have an important role in the future, and I seem to be attending your wedding. So, work hard."

"Oh, my God." Tony pointed at himself incredulously. "Me? Wedding? I'd have to be dying to get married."

"Just tell me if you agree or not." Shen He shrugged.

..."Deal. I need that kind of defensive force field, and your mech doesn't seem to fly by propulsion. Anti-gravity technology?" Tony still agreed.

If what Shen He said was true, then he wouldn't die so easily, and he also had some interest in researching completely new technologies.

Fury watched the two men beginning to talk, remained silent for a while, then wordlessly picked up the HYDRA Agent and turned to leave.

"Director?" Coulson followed behind Fury.

"We need to investigate some things first. If HYDRA truly isn't destroyed, it won't be that simple..."

Meanwhile, Shen He and Tony paid no mind to the bald man's departure. He enthusiastically pulled Saiki Kusuo along, intending to choose his room.

It had to be said, such a house was truly enormous, and its interior facilities were extremely luxurious, with everything imaginable, leaving Shen He dazzled.

As for Tony, he grabbed the mech and dove into the lab.

"I don't plan to stay here." Saiki Kusuo's voice appeared in Shen He's mind.

"Is that so? Are you going back?" Shen He's enthusiasm suddenly diminished greatly.

"Hmm, it seems very safe here. If you encounter any danger, you can summon me anytime."

Saiki Kusuo had previously worried about Shen He's safety, but now it seemed he didn't have to worry so much. And even if he could time travel back to the time he left, he didn't want to be away from home for too long.

This was very uncomfortable for someone who loved being a homebody.

"Okay." Shen He nodded, then suddenly seemed to remember something. "Wait a moment, I just saw a complete set of equipment for making coffee pudding in the kitchen. I'll make some for you to take back."

"You can make coffee pudding?" Saiki Kusuo was a little surprised.

"Of course, my cooking is quite good. When I used to work, I didn't like going out much, so I relied on this hobby to treat myself." Shen He turned and walked towards the kitchen. "By the way, in your World, how far along is the plot now?"

"Plot? Do gag manga even have plots?"

Saiki Kusuo followed behind Shen He to the kitchen with a hint of anticipation.

"Of course." Shen He took a strawberry from the refrigerator. "Let me put it this way: have you secretly drunk Teruhashi Kokomi's strawberry milkshake yet?"

"???"

Saiki Kusuo had a look of utter confusion.

"Alright, it seems the extra story hasn't arrived yet." Shen He showed a mischievous smile. "Then have you hugged Teruhashi Kokomi in public? And a princess carry, no less."

"..."

Saiki Kusuo was speechless.

Because from Shen He's inner thoughts, all of these were actually true!

"Do you only remember these things?"

"Haha, I'm a staunch Shi-Teru shipper." Shen He continued his actions while saying with a laugh, "That kind of self-conquering, slightly narcissistic girl is actually super adorable, isn't she?"

"...You know my situation. Love is something that has no connection to me." Saiki Kusuo shook his head.

Cursed with psychic powers, he might never know what love felt like in his entire life.

"...Don't be silly."

Shen He suddenly stopped what he was doing, turned around, and firmly patted Saiki Kusuo's shoulder, his expression very serious. "Aren't you always pursuing an ordinary life? Ordinary high school students fall in love. Love, family, friends – the happiness of ordinary people lies in these things. Or are you, as some people speculate, truly in love with Kaidou Shun, that chuunibyou boy?"

"No, please allow me to firmly deny that."

"Then there you have it." Shen He turned back to continue making coffee pudding. "You will have a day when you can perfectly control your abilities; I promised you that. So, please cherish the emotions of ordinary people."
