Chapter 4 - 4

Just now, for the first time, he actively summoned that virtual panel.

Unlike the previous passive triggers, this time, he opened it actively with his mind.

A minimalist, translucent light screen floated in his consciousness space, displaying several lines of data that made his heart pound.

[Yin-Yang Joyful Buddha Body]

[Host: Lin Ent]

[Physique: Pure Yang Buddha Body (Initial Stage)]

[Comprehensive Quality Assessment]:

Strength: 8

Speed: 9

Endurance: 7

Spirit: 15

[Current Dual Cultivation Partner: Raven Darkholme (Mystique)]

[Available Funds: $10,000]

[System Evaluation: You are a weakling, slightly stronger than a Mortal, but your spiritual talent is quite interesting. Survive, and don't disgrace Transcenders.]

Lin Ent's mouth twitched violently.

Weakling?

This darn System really doesn't mince words!

However, his heart was ablaze. This panel was his foundation for survival!

Although the basic stats were pitifully low, he saw the four small words after the 'Spirit' column.

Transcendent and Holy.

This should be the unique aspect of his soul as a Transcender.

It was also the source that attracted Raven and activated this golden finger!

A 0.1 times increase meant all his Mortal attributes below 10 were multiplied by 1.1.

While it didn't seem like much, this all-around improvement had already lifted him out of the 'useless' category.

After all, the original owner's body wasn't in good shape, having been steeped in wine and women for years, his foundation long rotten.

His transmigration might also be because this guy was completely drained by Mystique, as Mystique's stamina is also very impressive.

More importantly, that ten thousand U.S. dollars!

That wasn't a vague number, but real, tangible wealth!

As he was studying the panel, Raven suddenly flipped out of bed.

Her body rapidly transformed in a shimmering display of light, and in the blink of an eye, she once again became that terrifying, two-meter-tall, muscular brute.

As she walked towards the door, she said coldly without looking back, "Stay here. Don't leave this room for half a step."

Her voice became rough and deep, filled with an undeniable authority.

"If you dare to run..."

She paused, turned her head, and forced a smile on her grotesque face that was uglier than a cry.

"I will personally find you, and then... one by one, twist your bones."

"Bang!"

The door was slammed shut.

Lin Ent looked at the closed door, the bitter smile on his face instantly vanishing, replaced by a calm expression.

Run?

What a joke.

New York, as it was now, was more dangerous than hell for him.

A rich second-generation international student, carrying ten thousand U.S. dollars, would be a mobile ATM machine if he went out, and he wouldn't even know how he died.

Following Mystique, although he lost his freedom, at least... he was safe.

Safety first, making money second.

He silently recited his code of conduct, then picked up the tattered pants beside him and pulled out a phone with a shattered screen from inside.

Relying on memory, he tremblingly opened a banking APP.

When he entered a string of account numbers and passwords that were completely unfamiliar to him, a number prominently appeared on the screen.

$10,000.00!

Not a cent more, not a cent less!

Lin Ent's heart pounded.

It's real! All of this is real!

He wasn't dreaming!

After an unknown amount of time, the door opened again.

Raven had returned to her original appearance and walked in.

Her expression seemed a little melancholic, but her spirits were very good.

She tossed a paper bag onto the bed, containing some food and Water.

"Eat."

She said indifferently.

Lin Ent didn't stand on ceremony, grabbing a hamburger and devouring it. He was truly starving.

Watching him gobble down his food, Raven sat on the edge of the bed and spoke, seemingly casually.

"We are hiding from someone now."

Lin Ent's chewing motion paused.

"Magneto, Erik Lehnsherr."

Raven's voice was flat, as if speaking the name of an unrelated person.

"I don't want to risk my life for his ridiculous ideal of Mutant supremacy anymore. He's a madman who will drag everyone to hell."

Lin Ent felt the hamburger in his mouth instantly lose its flavor.

Magneto!

"Old Magneto, huh."

One of the most imposing villains in the X-Men series!

A top Mutant who could stir up magnetic fields, control metal, and was a match for an entire army by himself!

What kind of luck was this? Just out of the novice village, and he was dragged into this vortex of divine battles?

He was just an ordinary person now, albeit with a slightly stronger ability, so why was it a hellish difficulty from the start!

Hearing Lin Ent's words, Raven frowned, her heart immediately alert.

"You know him?"

Lin Ent wanted to slap himself, what a loose tongue.

His hand trembled, and the hamburger almost fell.

"No, I don't. Didn't you say Magneto? I just gave him a nickname."

Perhaps sensing his nervousness, Raven's attitude suddenly did a complete one-eighty.

She leaned closer, extended a finger, and gently wiped the sauce from the corner of his mouth, her movements soft.

But this tenderness made Lin Ent's hair stand on end.

It was a tenderness reserved for a precious private possession, full of surveillance and an inviolable possessiveness.

"Don't be afraid."

Raven's voice carried a hint of seduction.

"With me here, he won't find us. I will protect you."

She pulled a brand new smartphone and a thick wad of cash from her pocket and placed them in front of Lin Ent.

"You take these. Besides leaving my side, anything you want, I can satisfy you."

Lin Ent looked at the phone and cash, then at Raven's deep yellow eyes.

It seemed this was a sweet cage.

He was being kept.

Night fell once more.

When the only light source in the room—the hole in the wall—was completely swallowed by darkness.

Raven once again entwined herself with him, her warm body pressed tightly against his, her voice filled with an uncontrollable desire and a hint of eager verification.

"Little one, the cooldown... should be over, right?"

"I want to try again, this time... will it still make me stronger?"

Indeed, the cooldown period had ended.

After another exhilarating 'sparring session,' the familiar warm current once again swept through both their bodies.

Raven felt the renewed surge of power within her, letting out a satisfied and joyful sigh.

Her gaze at Lin Ent became even more like someone looking at a unique, rare treasure, filled with ardent possessiveness.

Meanwhile, Lin Ent silently watched the numbers on his panel.

Strength: 8.8

Speed: 9.9

Endurance: 7.7

Spirit: 16.5

Available Funds: $20,000

The corners of his mouth curved into an unseen smile.

The feeling of becoming stronger was truly good.

Especially in this dangerous World.

Over the next few days, the two settled into a highly regular routine of rest and 'combat.'

During the day, Raven would transform into various appearances to go out, gather intelligence, and purchase supplies.
