Chapter 3 - 3Jiayi bravely ventures into Sapphire Nightclub

That night at the Butterfly Lovers Ballroom, Huo Xiaomei accidentally spilled wine on Jiuyang and immediately apologized. However, Jiuyang was not a kind person, and he took the opportunity to make a scene, saying with a cheeky smile, "Little sister, did you spill the wine? It's alright! Why don't you accompany your brother to have a drink?" As he spoke, he reached out to pull Xiaomei. Xiaomei was terrified and turned pale, hurriedly looking towards Li Haiming.

Seeing the situation, Haiming braced himself and stepped forward, "Brother, don't do it. She's my girlfriend."

Jiuyang was dismissive and still held Xiaomei by the arm, asking, "What's wrong with your girlfriend? Drinking a glass of wine with me is giving her face! Get away from me, or I'll fucking cut you up if you keep on nagging!" With these words, he raised his hand and slapped Haiming.

In that era, if a ruffian took a fancy to a girl, he would often behave arrogantly and unreasonably. However, due to social unrest and seeking shelter, some women had a somewhat blind admiration for such characters.

Haiming was beaten, and he immediately fell silent. Brother Jiadao stepped forward, pulled Xiaomei behind him, signaled Yaqing to pour a full glass of wine, and said to Jiuyang, "I apologize for my friend. Either I drink this glass of wine and let this matter go, or you can pour this glass of wine on my face. As long as you're appeased, it's fine. According to the rules of the road, if wine is poured on my face, I won't say a word. I'll pay for this. Let's toast and drink, and from now on, we'll be friends."

Jiuyang sneered inwardly, thinking to himself that the other party actually dared to lecture him on the rules of the martial arts world. He then interrogated, "Who are you associated with? Give me your name, so I can hear your confidence."

Jiadaitan said frankly, "I don't hang out with anyone. These are all my friends."

Upon hearing that the other party had no powerful backers, Jiuyang felt even more confident and actually took the glass, pouring the wine directly over Jiadao's head!

Jiadao wiped her face and tried to suppress her anger, "Okay, buddy. As long as you feel relieved, we can leave now, right?"

"Leave? You think it's that easy!" Jiuyang's face fell, and he shouted to his five brothers behind him, "Fight for me!"

On the side of Kayo, Haiming and several girls were already petrified, while only Kayo, Yaqing, and Han Yu were able to take action. But they all came from the military and had received training. How could they be compared to those idle thugs under Jiuyang? In just a few strokes, the six of them were knocked to the ground. Seeing the situation was not good, Jiuyang fled in disarray with his men.

Jiadao immediately said to Xiaomei, "Let's leave first, and you should go back as soon as possible." With that said, the group quickly left the Butterfly Love Disco.

The next day, Jiuyang sought out his older brother Baogang and embellished the story. Upon hearing it, Baogang was furious and scolded Jiuyang and the others as useless. He felt that six people had suffered a loss against three, and he was even more embarrassed. He was determined to teach Jiadao a lesson.

Bao Gang, a notorious gang leader in Dongcheng, was in his mid-thirties. He had a shaved head, a small mustache, and a fierce appearance. Upon hearing the news, he led Jiuyang and around twenty of his subordinates to the Huiming Teahouse operated by Li Haiming on Dongshun Street. After several rounds of challenges, they detained Haiming, Xiaomei, Yaqing, and Han Yu at their own Sapphire Nightclub. Unable to find Jiadao, they called and threatened, "Jiadao, this is Bao Gang. Your four friends are in my hands now. You must come to the Sapphire Nightclub immediately! Otherwise, they'll be confined to wheelchairs for the rest of their lives!" After saying this, they hung up the phone.

Kayo, who was having dinner with Gordon, received a phone call and broke out in a cold sweat. He informed Gordon of the situation, and Gordon insisted on going with him, but Kayo knew the danger of the trip and firmly refused. Gordon said excitedly, "Brother, you could take two bullets for me in '86, so why can't I do something for you? I have to go!"

Jiadao firmly refused, "Gordon, you stay! If you go, the situation will escalate. I'll handle it myself."

Kayo arrived at the Sapphire Nightclub alone. Upon entering the private room, she saw more than twenty young men armed with razor blades standing around. Baogang sat in the center, while Han Yu, Yaqing, Xiaomei, and Haiming were lying on the ground, too scared to speak. Kayo looked straight at Baogang and said, "Brother Baogang, I'm here. What do you want with this?"

Baogang said in a sinister tone, "Jiadao, you're quite brave. You really dare to come alone? What do you want? It's simple. You kneel down and kowtow to me and Jiuyang to apologize, and then let Jiuyang beat you up. I'll make it up to you double. That's it!"

Upon hearing this, Jiadao was filled with anger: "I, Jiadao, kneel to heaven and earth, and to my parents. Why should I kneel to you?"

Before the words were even finished, the twenty-plus men with knives closed in. At this critical moment, Gordon rushed in from outside! He had met Baogang a few times before and quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "Brother Baogang, can you give me a break? Jiadao is my friend. I'll give you three thousand yuan, and let's drop this matter, how about it?"

Baogang snorted coldly, "Humph, is your three thousand yuan that influential? You hit my brother and expect me to let it go? I've only known you for a short time, do I have to give you so much importance?"

Unwilling to implicate his friends, Jiadao took the opportunity to speak up: "Baogang! There's no need to trouble the brothers to do it. I'll do it myself!" With that, he suddenly snatched a small knife from a junior brother's hand beside him, aimed it at his own abdomen without blinking, and plunged it in with a "poof"!

This move shocked everyone, even Jiuyang was stunned. Having been in the Jianghu for many years, he had never seen such a vicious person. Baogang also felt a chill down his spine. If someone really died, no one present could escape responsibility. He immediately waved his hand and said, "Alright, alright! You can leave now!"

Jiadao was immediately sent to the hospital. His fierce determination and loyalty deeply shocked many people present.

I thought the storm had subsided, but unexpectedly, complications arose. Huo Xiaomei returned to the teahouse and saw that Li Haiming had also returned. She immediately packed her bags and said to Haiming, "Haiming, I'm leaving. We're not really suited for each other. From now on, we'll go our separate ways." With that, she turned around and left. Haiming called after her repeatedly, but Xiaomei didn't even turn her head back.

Turning to Jiadai, he is a loyal person with numerous friends and a vast network of connections. During his hospitalization, all the tough guys and local ruffians in the vicinity of Dongcheng who were on good terms with him came to visit. Xiaomei also often came to check on him. As fate would have it, one day, Xiaomei, Yaqing, and Hanyu unexpectedly bumped into Jiuyang near the hospital. Jiuyang ridiculed the three of them, saying, "Humph, Jiadai has problems. He stabbed himself! None of his brothers are any good, they're all trash!" The two sides nearly clashed again.

After learning about it, Jiadao said "Forget it, forget it" with her mouth, but the seed of revenge had already been planted in her heart: "Baogang, you've gone too far! You can touch me, but not my brothers! Just you wait!"

Time flies. A month and a half later, Jiadao recovered and was discharged from the hospital. That night, all the brothers held a banquet to welcome him back. As the night approached eleven o'clock, the banquet was about to end, and everyone gradually left. Xiaomei found Jiadao at the door and said, "Daodi, walk with me. Sister wants to chat with you."

Jiadao looked at her and said, "Sister Huo, I understand your intentions. But I don't have that feeling right now. I remember your kindness to me. If there's ever a need for me to help you in the future, just let me know, and I won't hesitate. But at the moment, I really don't have that intention." After hearing this, Xiaomei nodded and turned around to leave.

After the show, Jiadao came to Gordon's house and bluntly asked, "Brother, can you get me a double-barreled shotgun?"

Gordon asked in surprise, "Bro, what are you going to do?"

"What are you doing? I'm here to settle accounts with Baogang! I was hospitalized, and Jiuyang insulted my brother outside. This account must be settled clearly!" After Gordon tried to dissuade her in various ways, Yoko put the double-barreled shotgun on her back and headed straight to the Sapphire Nightclub.

At 7:30 that evening, Jiayi lay in wait in an alley next to the nightclub. First, he saw Jiuyang leading three brothers come out drunk, picking their teeth at the door, and telling the manager, "My eldest brother will be here soon, so all of you be on your toes!" After saying this, he led the others away. Jiayi quietly followed, keeping a distance of forty to fifty meters.

When Jiuyang and the others reached the middle of the alley, Jiadao quickly caught up and shouted at them from about twenty meters away, "Jiuyang!"

Jiuyang turned around upon hearing the sound. The alley was dark and there were no street lamps. As he approached, Jiadao raised her hand and fired a shot! To avoid causing a fatal accident, Jiadao didn't aim for the upper body and the bullet hit Jiuyang's knee with precision! The three brothers beside her were instantly stunned, not expecting Jiadao to actually dare to use a gun!

Kayo made up her mind: "One is one, two is also one! I'll deal with you all today!" Coincidentally, Baogang was riding a 28-inch bicycle with seven or eight brothers passing through the alley entrance, heading towards a newly opened factory ahead. Kayo saw them from afar and, without hesitation, aimed her gun at Baogang's shoulder and pulled the trigger! With a loud "bang", Baogang and his bicycle were sent flying.

With a double-barreled shotgun, Jiayi first crippled Jiuyang's leg and then injured Baogang's shoulder blade. The next day, the incident spread throughout the city of Sijiu. Why did he do it? Jiayi's deeds of bravely entering the dragon's lair and righteousness in rescuing his brothers were also exaggerated and spread.

Bao Gang lost face and felt like sitting on pins and needles. According to the unwritten rules of the underworld in Beijing at that time, the family should not be affected by the trouble, and the authorities should not be alerted. Even if he was caught, he should not make things difficult for the other party. However, Bao Gang couldn't find Jiadao for a while, and he was unwilling (or afraid) to report the case directly. Instead, he instigated his subordinates to report to the authorities and spread rumors everywhere: "Jiadao, don't let me catch you! If I catch you, I'll kill you! Let you die in my hands, and see if you can still mess around!"

After this incident, Jiadao knew that it was difficult for him to stay in Beijing. He said to his brothers, "I can't bring you all down. I'll surrender myself!"

Han Yu, Ya Qing, and the others hurriedly tried to dissuade him: "Brother, let everyone think of a way. We absolutely cannot surrender!"

At this moment, Huo Xiaomei stepped forward and said, "Brother, come with me. Let's go to Guangzhou."

After collective deliberation, Jia Dai ultimately made the decision to follow Huo Xiaomei south to Guangzhou. This departure from Beijing not only signified the establishment of a feud with Baogang, but also marked the beginning of Jia Dai's journey south to Guangzhou and later on to Shenzhen. After years of hard work, he eventually became the feared "King of Shenzhen". As the saying goes: "Alone, he ventured into Shenzhen, striking down tyrants with his palm and dominating the East Gate. Qiao Ba offered a plan to take over Luohu, and the Hunan-Guangdong brothers were nearly dust.".

So, how did Jiadao rise to prominence in Guangzhou all by himself? How did he forge friendships with heroes? And how did his career flourish? Let's listen to the detailed analysis of the following story.
