"Why are you in my dream?" Lily said, seeing Morwenna before her in sleep. "We destroyed your soul—so how can you appear in my dreams?"
"Lily," Morwenna's spirit replied with a smile within the dream, "I am coming to your dream because you want it so. You were the girl who, even after destroying my soul, gave me a means to remain on this earth. It was you whose hands were destined to complete the ritual through which those thirteen cursed souls could return to the world. For a while, I was the one doing that work—but now, you must finish it."
But hearing Morwenna's words, Lily was stunned and said, "What nonsense are you talking about? You and I are not the same, and I want nothing to do with you. Leave this place— that would be best for you."
