Chapter 61 - 61

Natasha floored the accelerator, and the engine roared to life, propelling the car forward like an arrow released from a bow!

Clinton quickly gripped the overhead handle and said, "Wait! Please calm down and think. You still have Watson! And I still have Laura and them!"

Natasha took a deep breath, calming her emotions, and said, "Don't worry, I won't let Laura's birthday party be without a leading man."

Clinton was silent for a moment before asking, "You haven't told him?"

Natasha pursed her lips and said, "I haven't prepared to tell him yet—but I don't want to have secrets from him, especially something like this—something so important."

"We haven't been together for too long, and I—I'm a little unsure." It had been too long since she had hesitated over something, not since she underwent training at the Red Room.

Natasha subconsciously clutched the necklace around her neck with one hand, as if its warmth could give her strength.

With his keen eyes, Clinton naturally saw Natasha's expression and actions, and he spoke up, "Hey, listen, you should trust him. And he's not an ordinary person; he won't abandon you. Do you remember the serum he gave the bureau? It can directly heal injuries."

"I know, I tried it—it's no use."

Clinton tried his best to comfort her, "—Then maybe there's another way. Anyway, you have to believe in yourself and him."

"It's fine, I'm okay. If we don't find another way, I'll adopt a child with him. It's fine." If he's willing—at the S.H.I.E.L.D. New York branch.

Nick Fury stood up as the two walked in and said to Natasha, "How was your vacation?"

"Very good, sir, it would have been even better if I hadn't been called back after only half a day."

Who was Nick Fury—the world's thickest-skinned man? He completely ignored Natasha's words and said, "I also wish that you, and even Coulson, could be like Clinton, waking up in the middle of the night to watch the kids and fixing tractors on the lawn during the day. Unfortunately, it's not possible yet; it's not our time to rest. There's news of Hydra on the West Coast. You and Clinton go there. Oh, Natasha, some intelligence is very important! When necessary, you need to—"

"Sir, we'll handle it."

Nick Fury stared at Natasha for a long time, then shifted his gaze to her necklace and said, "Alright, you've never disappointed me. That's a beautiful necklace."

"Thank you, sir." With that, Natasha and Clinton walked out of the office.

Nick Fury looked at Coulson and said, "Women in love, huh?"

Coulson shrugged and said, "I'm not sure, sir, I'm still single—"

"Then what are you doing staring at me here? I don't have a girlfriend either! Get to work. Oh, I noticed Natasha's necklace seems a bit different. If you get a chance, ask Watson what it is. Also, what exactly is Stark hiding? Try to find out."

"Understood, sir." Coulson nodded and also walked out of the office.

---Ordinary days passed quickly.

"Jarvis, connect to the Cisco database, reconfigure the shell material, and use the Seraphim satellite's titanium alloy to reinforce the fuselage." Tony was discussing the MK3 improvements with Jarvis while watching TV. Suddenly, he seemed to remember something and looked at the chlorophyll juice in his hand—'Armor Kid' seemed to have told me to drink chlorophyll juice before? How did he know? He doesn't look like someone with knowledge in his head at all—"Disney Concert Hall Walk of Fame, Tony Stark's Third Annual Firefighter Family Charity Gala—"

"Jarvis, was I invited?"

"Sir, there are no relevant records."

Tony thought for a moment and said to Jarvis, "Call the great detective.

Tell him that the generous Tony invites him and his sexy policewoman to the gala~"

"Yes, sir. Coloring is complete. Should I make the call now?"

"Yes, make it now. Hmm... the color is a bit exaggerated—" Tony turned and saw the vintage car with the red flame logo and said, "Add the flame red configuration."

"Yes, sir. That perfectly matches your usual low-key style."

Our Watson was at Aunt Leah's house, holding a brined egg, bored, watching TV, and eating biscuits.

"Meow~" Brined Egg brought the vibrating phone to Watson.

Who's calling me again?

"Hello?"

"Hello, Mr. Watson, Mr. Stark would like to invite you and your companion to the charity gala tonight—" As Watson listened, the original electronic voice changed to a lewd uncle's voice, making Watson feel a pang in his stomach: "Watson, if you don't want to bring your sexy policewoman, maybe we can have a match tonight?"

"Alright, she's out today anyway. I'll take on whatever you want, fastest man in the world."

"F*ck—can't you not bring that up! Alright, I'll pick you up. You're at Aunt Leah's, right?"

"That's right, come on over." Watson hung up the phone after speaking.

"Meow~!" Brined Egg squatted down, lying on Watson, staring at him with wide eyes after hearing the conversation.

"You want to go too? But what about Aunt Leah?" As Watson spoke, Aunt Leah came downstairs from upstairs and said, "Take him with you. The child has wanted to go out and play for a long time~ It's fine. Oh, who called just now?"

"It was Stark, he's on his way. Brined Egg, we'll take him next time. This time, there might be other things~"

"Alright, child, go change your clothes first~"

As dusk fell, there was a knock at the door.

Watson opened the door, rolled his eyes at Tony Stark, and said, "I almost fell asleep."

Aunt Leah also came out of the kitchen, holding two cheeseburgers.

"Let's go, why so many demands? Oh! Aunt Leah, are you doing well?" Stark stepped past Watson and gently hugged Aunt Leah, then looked at the burgers in her hand and said, "I knew you were good to me. We might not get to eat anything later, and I've missed these for a long time. Is Uncle Pork not home?"

"So you only came to pick me up for the burgers?"

Aunt Leah smiled as she watched the two bickering and said, "Pork is upstairs. Alright, children, you two go. Drive safely."

Walking out the door, Watson looked at the Audi R8 in front of him and said, "Nice car."

"Yeah, I know, but it's mine."

The two arrived at the venue and got out of the car. A waiter who came over was surprised to see Stark, and then saw—the Flame Knight—get out of the passenger seat? Were these two friends?

As Stark walked onto the red carpet, he immediately became the focus of the party girls. Then, their attention was drawn to Watson, who was walking alongside him. They hadn't heard that this Flame Knight was also a big shot, had they? Why were the two of them walking together?

Never mind, none of that mattered, because it didn't stop the reporters from pulling out their long lenses and the girls from letting out excited screams~
