Chapter 3 - The Ten-Pull Chest

Ding!

[The Basic Point Treasure Chest 10x Pull guarantees a Blue-quality item and costs 2,000 Points. Are you sure you want to open it?]

"Confirm!"

Whoosh—Snap!

Following a brief opening cinematic, ten Treasure Chests popped out of the System and landed in front of Aomori, shimmering with an alluring glow.

He randomly picked up one and opened it. A flash of white light revealed a crumpled piece of paper lying quietly inside.

Aomori smoothed it out, and what met his eyes were several scarlet circles, while the paper's information flowed into his mind.

[Name: Zero Score Test Paper (White)]

[Description: A test paper tossed into a temporal rift by Nobita. There is nothing extraordinary about it.]

[Remark: Hmm... perhaps it could be collected or used as toilet paper.]

He examined it repeatedly, confirming there was indeed nothing unusual about it, and tossed it aside.

He opened another chest. A familiar white light flashed and faded, revealing an orange booklet this time.

[Name: Icha Icha Paradise (White)]

[Description: The magnum opus of the Great Sage Jiraiya, an 18+ romance novel.]

[Remark: I'm done (pulls up pants ๑乛◡乛๑).]

Aomori's expression became serious. Icha Icha Paradise was a painstaking work by the Great Sage Jiraiya of the Ninja World. Even the Sixth Hokage couldn't put it down. How could it be a mere erotic novel?

Perhaps it concealed the ultimate secrets of Ninjutsu known to no one else.

Aomori carefully stored Icha Icha Paradise in his System Backpack for later study.

The System Backpack was a built-in feature of the System with infinite space, but it could only store items produced by the System. Theoretically, it was the safest place in this world to store items.

Elated by obtaining a secret manual, Aomori sped up his chest-opening pace, but the subsequent items were all White quality.

[Name: Stun-Gun Watch (White)]

[Description: One of Conan's personal gadgets. It can fire a tranquilizer dart. The needle hole is concealed by the power of "Conan Science" and cannot be discovered.]

[Remark: "Huh? What's this? Something's odd..."]

...

[Name: Sanae's Bread (White)]

[Description: Bread that looks very normal.]

[Remark: Tomoya, who wishes to remain anonymous, highly recommends it.]

...

[Name: Cyclone Magnum (White)]

[Description: A high-tech race car that can be voice-controlled. The louder you yell, the faster the car goes.]

[Remark: "Go, Cyclone Magnum Tornado!"]

...

[Name: A Serving of Dog Food (White)]

[Description: Exclusively for single people (single dogs). Guaranteed to be filling.]

[Remark: Woof woof woof!]

...

Six consecutive Chests yielded White quality items. Did I not rub my face hard enough earlier?

Aomori's expression grew colder. He picked up another Chest, took a deep breath, and slowly opened it.

Instantly, a brilliant blue fluorescence burst from the box, illuminating the entire room.

"Finally, a rare one."

When the light dissipated, the item inside the box was a silver cylindrical object shaped like a keychain, with twelve rings around it.

[Name: 13 Totem Pole (Blue)]

[Description: From Märchen Awakens Romance (MÄR). A defensive ARM (Accessory-Reinforced Material) that can transform into two forms: a staff and a totem pole.]

[Remark: I love Dorothy!]

13 Totem Pole? Aomori recalled that it could transform into a thick, large totem pole capable of sending enemies flying—a decent area-of-effect attack.

Holding the 13 Totem Pole, the usage method became clear to him. With a thought, the Totem Chain glowed and transformed into a two-meter-long staff.

Aomori swung it twice, and the feel was good. Satisfied, he put it into the System Backpack.

His luck seemed to have reversed. The remaining three Chests yielded one White quality item and two Blue quality items.

[Name: Novel Recommendation Ticket (White)]

[Description: Vote for the Ultimate Hottie author. Has a certain chance of making him release an extra chapter.]

[Remark: Vote, Update, Understand?]

...

[Name: Knight of Owner (Blue)]

[Description: Skill Card. Learnable. From the Fate series. Can transform the weapon held in hand into Blue quality. If the original weapon quality is higher than Blue, the quality is retained.]

[Remark: No way, no way, are there still people who think they can hold onto the Earth while standing on their head?]

...

[Name: Polymerization (Blue)]

[Description: From Yu-Gi-Oh!. A Normal Spell Card. Allows two friendly units on the field to be fused into a new entity.]

[Remark: "It's my turn! Draw!"]

Knight of Owner was a very practical skill. With it, he essentially had an endless supply of Blue-quality weapons. Aomori decisively used the Skill Card to learn it.

He then pulled out The Best Sword in the Village. After using the Knight of Owner skill, the sword's body immediately glowed faintly. He tossed a piece of scrap metal into the air and casually swung the sword. The scrap metal was sliced into two halves, the cut surface as smooth as a mirror.

"Not bad."

The final item was the card, the Polymerization Spell Card from Yu-Gi-Oh! Its actual effect remained unclear. Could it be used without the necessary Fusion Monsters?

Aomori attempted to use it but received the prompt, "Missing a target for use." It seemed the specific application needed further exploration.

The items and skills pulled from the Chests differed slightly from the memories Aomori had of them.

For example, in Demon Slayer, Breathing Styles were techniques and augmentations that did not actually produce water or fire when used; these were merely manifestations of the "force" or momentum.

However, when Aomori used Thunder Breathing, actual electric arcs, purple ones, at that, appeared, and he could clearly feel the electric current flowing within his body.

He guessed this might be related to the Energy Attribute.

Therefore, the specific effects of the items and skills drawn from the Chests could only be confirmed through actual use.

With the Chests opened, Aomori returned to the main interface and clicked on Dungeon.

The Dungeon interface consisted of a row of square frames. The first frame flashed with golden light, while the others were locked and grayed out.

Ding!

[Welcome Player Aomori to your first use of the Dungeon feature. Would you like to immediately enter the first Dungeon?]

"No."

Aomori first checked the Dungeon Usage Instructions:

[1. The Dungeon feature unlocks when the Player reaches Level 5. New Dungeons will subsequently unlock at Levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.]

[2. The Player's stay in the Dungeon is one month (Dungeon time), which can be extended using Points.]

[3. The time flow ratio between the Dungeon and the Main World is 100:1.]

[4. Each Dungeon has a cooldown of 1 month (Main World time) after being opened. This cooldown is shared by all Dungeons.]

[5. The System reserves the final right of interpretation.]

There was a cooldown? Use it early, get the cooldown early. This meant it was best to activate the Dungeon tonight.

Aomori thought it over. Since he had just pulled the Chests, his strength wouldn't change significantly in a short time. Waiting a few more days wouldn't help much, so he decided to enter the Dungeon soon.

To prepare for various scenarios, Aomori gathered supplies: clothing, a tent, food, a flashlight, a lighter, and other necessities, packing a large bundle as tall as himself.

With his materials ready, he first needed to organize his battle readiness in the System before entering.

First, his Character:

[Player Name: Aomori (Omohara Aomori)]

[Main World: One-Punch Man]

[Level: LV5]

[Titles: A Small-Time Novice (Equipped): All Attributes +1; Ultimate Hottie: Charm +5]

[Attributes: Constitution 23, Energy 15, Spirit 18 (Remaining Free Attribute Points: 0)]

[Points: 2040]

[Talents: Primal Body (Can adapt to any energy system), Energy Manipulation LV1 (Can initially control personal energy and transform it into other variant energies), Lightning Affinity LV2 (Enhances the efficiency of subtle mutual conversion with Lightning-type energy)]

[Life Skills: Singing LV5, Dancing LV4, Cooking LV4, Mechanical Mastery LV6]

[Combat Skills: Lesser Healing Spell LV2, Thunder Breathing LV2, Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist LV1, Knight of Owner LV1, One-Sword Style: Flying Dragon Blaze 2/3]

The Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist was learned by Aomori at Bang's dojo.

Finally, the items in the System Backpack:

[Heavy Training Gi Set (Blue)] · [Polymerization (Blue)] · [13 Totem Pole (Blue)] · [The Best Sword in the Village (White)] · [Delicious Rice Ball (White)] · [Zero Score Test Paper (White)], [Stun-Gun Watch (White)] · [Sanae's Bread (White)] · [Cyclone Magnum (White)] · [A Serving of Dog Food (White)] · [Icha Icha Paradise (White)] · [Novel Recommendation Ticket (White)].

Aomori put on his custom-made combat suit, slung the large bundle onto his back. With everything prepared, he clicked the golden frame in the Dungeon interface.

Ding!

[Do you wish to immediately enter the Level 5 Dungeon?]

"Yes."

The moment the word left his mouth, a grinding black hole the size of a millstone appeared out of thin air in front of him. An irresistible suction pulled him inside.

Aomori felt a dizzying disorientation. Before he could even catch a glimpse of the scene before him, he succumbed to exhaustion and fell unconscious.

When he woke up again, he was already in a forest.
