The heroes searched the cavern, but there was no sign of Cate. Lyra's face was set in a worried expression.
"I don't like this," she said. "We need to get out of here, now."
But it was too late. As they turned to leave, they heard a voice behind them.
"You're not going anywhere," it said.
The heroes spun around, their swords and magic at the ready. And that's when they saw her - Cate, standing in the shadows, a sly smile spreading across her face.
"You," Thane growled, his hand on his sword. "You're the traitor."
