The Chitauri's capabilities were, at their core, technological.
And the truly formidable black technologies of the Marvel world were mostly concentrated on Earth. Therefore, even if the Chitauri produced something unexpected, Shen He was confident he could handle it.
"Let's go. We'll head to the Command Center first."
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Shen He stood up and led the large group towards the Command Center.
Semiramis followed along as well.
It had to be said, the Empress, dressed in a luxurious gown, was exceptionally eye-catching even among the Servants, drawing a great deal of attention the moment she appeared.
After all, although Jeanne d'Arc and the others were beautiful, they couldn't compare to the Empress's mature and sweet aura.
"He, aren't you going to introduce us to this beautiful woman?" Tony, that old lecher, was immediately captivated by Semiramis.
"If you want to drink poison, I don't mind." Shen He shrugged.
"Uh, I was just kidding." Tony swallowed, and honestly averted his gaze.
Hearing Shen He say that, he understood that this was another dangerous person. Ever since that time when he was almost killed by Violet, he had always kept his distance from dangerous people brought by Shen He.
Shen He didn't intend to introduce them either. He looked at the big screen, where a three-dimensional pattern of the outside of the Wormhole was displayed.
It could be clearly seen that there were six giant devices shaped like pillars suspended around the Wormhole, and in the space outside of them, there were densely packed Chitauri warships and small aircraft. Further away, there were also medium-sized space battleships. Just looking at the dense array of turrets, one could tell their immense power.
Semiramis stared at the screen with wide eyes, her red lips slightly parted, looking like "what the hell is this".
Because she was endowed with modern knowledge, she could also understand the things displayed on the screen, but because she understood, it was somewhat hard to imagine.
The alien army was completely beyond the ancient people's standards.
"No wonder you said you wanted to split it into six points." Shen He turned to Tony and asked, "We just need to destroy these six pillar-like things, right?"
"That's right, but it's not that simple in reality."
Tony operated on the keyboard, and the screen in front of him quickly changed. All the Chitauri army disappeared, leaving only these six pillars.
"Because we need to compress the high-explosive bombs to a size that one person can carry, we have to sacrifice some destructive power. In addition, you can only install the bombs on the surface, which requires that the installation locations can only be these few explosive points..."
As Tony explained, the screen used red dots to circle the explosive points.
Compared to the massive size of the pillars, the explosive points could be said to be very small.
"Are you deliberately trying to make things difficult for us?" Shen He shook his head helplessly. "When the time comes, how are we supposed to find the explosive points?"
"So, I made a watch for each of you." Tony's assistant dragged over a box. "It will guide you. If it's broken, you can also have the Command Center guide you."
"Looks pretty good." Shen He glanced at the opened box. Indeed, everything was there, including respirators, communicators, and bombs.
This operation wasn't particularly difficult. Within this range, Shen He even felt that Kusuo alone could complete the mission. However, this was an opportunity to experience outer space combat.
Chaldea's future development certainly wouldn't be limited to Earth.
Shen He mainly wanted to see if the Servants would undergo any changes in outer space.
As preparations were completed on all sides, the operation time quickly arrived.
"The army has all arrived at the designated location," a liaison from the military sent a message.
"Then, commence the operation."
In an instant, Shen He summoned the Demon God Armor. Then, the next moment, the operation Servants were instantly teleported away by Kusuo Saiki.
The sensation of weightlessness washed over them; they had emerged outside the Wormhole, standing atop a spaceship.
"This ability is truly convenient!"
Thor crackled with lightning, and though he remembered he couldn't stray from Shen He and Kusuo Saiki, his hammer was already hurtling towards the nearest Chitauri warship.
BOOM—!
A series of sudden explosions alerted the Chitauri army that blanketed the entire space.
In an instant, a barrage of laser fire filled their vision.
"Scatter!"
Shen He shouted, stomping hard on the warship beneath his feet. He shot out in an instant, and the other Servants followed suit. The medium-sized warship was instantly consumed by its own firepower, becoming space debris.
The first thing he felt was the discomfort of weightlessness.
He couldn't distinguish up from down, his sense of direction vanished in an instant, and he only felt surrounded by enemies. Once he lost his footing, he would instantly become a target with nowhere to hide.
"Master." Kusuo, pulling Thor, drifted over slowly, using his telekinesis to spin Shen He around. "Just find a point of reference. The Chitauri all have a unified direction."
"Really?" Shen He's eyes lit up.
Then he also realized that Kusuo was right. The Chitauri clearly had a unified direction and weren't disoriented.
"It's a really strange experience." After finding his sense of direction, Shen He could observe the battlefield.
It was completely different from what was shown in the movies. Here, his eyes could only receive direct light, and without the atmosphere's diffusion, most light sources became very glaring. It was already difficult to judge distances just by relying on his eyes, and the buzzing sound from the communicator in his ear, along with the sounds within his own body, became particularly clear because he couldn't hear any other sounds at all.
The light of laser guns, the sparks from metal collisions, and the heat of a warship exploding in an instant.
This was a silent, yet incredibly intense battlefield.
"Shen He, where's our target?"
Thor's voice crackled through the comms. He was right beside Shen He, his body radiating with the glow of lightning.
And normally, it was impossible to generate electricity in a vacuum devoid of electronics.
"Follow me."
Shen He summoned Moon Cell Spiritron as a point of leverage and dashed towards the direction his hand indicated.
The Chitauri army surrounding them was dense, but scattered across the vastness of space, it was still relatively sparse. Moreover, because Shen He and the others had appeared directly within the enemy ranks, they were causing the enemy's offensive a great deal of trouble.
In this kind of battlefield, a single shot could hit a Chitauri unit. This resulted in almost every single one of the enemies' attacks hitting their own people.
"How are you all doing?" Shen He asked within the summoning communication link he established in his mind.
"I'm perfectly fine over here." It was Jeanne d'Arc's voice. "Because I can become a spirit, the enemy can't find me. I'm already very close to the target location."
Spirit form is indeed like cheating in technologically advanced civilizations. Perhaps only strong individuals proficient in energy manipulation can detect spirit-form Servants.
It seems there's no need to worry about Jeanne.
"I'm fine."
Accelerator was standing on a Chitauri's small aircraft, and while transmitting information, he slammed into a warship, then emerged unscathed from the intense flames.
Although he hadn't fully recovered his LV5 strength, this battlefield couldn't harm him.
"What about Violet and Shuvi?" Shen He couldn't help but look towards the two directions on his right.
If Accelerator and Jeanne d'Arc were cheating by relying on their own abilities, then Violet Evergarden and Shuvi Dola were in a real battle.
Their location was also the most spectacular place on the entire battlefield.
Just looking from afar at this moment, one could see a blinding beam of light piercing through the dense warships, causing a large area of explosions. That was undoubtedly the End Dragon Cannon, a skill copied by Shuvi from the Dragon-kin.
"No problem."
Almost simultaneously, two short replies were transmitted to Shen He's mind.
"...If you encounter danger, immediately agree to the summon and come to my side." Shen He paused and added, "This is an order."
These two girls didn't know how to pay attention to their own safety. Perhaps only when he said it was an order would they take it seriously.
"Understood, Master."
After receiving the reply, Shen He breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, he would quickly finish here and go help them.
The Chitauri didn't have any particularly powerful characters. Or rather, there weren't any in this Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even the average Chitauri were more fragile than humans, immediately losing their lives when their devices were locked onto.
Besides that... this armor was indeed quite flimsy.
He had noticed this during the Battle of New York, but the feeling was even more direct now. The outer armor of the Chitauri warship couldn't live up to the name "space battleship." With Shen He's current strength, he could pierce through it with just his spear. Even compared to the single-person space fighters from Macross in his inventory, it was far inferior.
This might also be one of the reasons why individual strength in the Marvel world could surpass the strength of civilizations.
They put all their skill points into black technology.
"Hey, Shen He, things don't look good up ahead," Thor's voice interrupted Shen He's thoughts.
He looked up and saw that just outside the giant "pillar" not far away, a dense cluster of ultra-small flying machines had appeared. They were neatly arranged, completely enveloping the entire pillar. In the next instant, blue and white light crisscrossed and connected between the ultra-small flying machines, eventually forming a huge light curtain.
"Shen He," Tony's slightly nervous voice came through the earpiece, "What's going on over there? I just detected a giant energy field, right around the target device!"
"Well, probably the enemy's 'trump card'," Shen He replied calmly.
Then, crackling static began to fill the earpiece, and Tony's voice became intermittent. Shen He turned his head and found that behind them, there was also such a "net." Obviously, it also had the function of blocking communication.
The situation in other places must be similar.
"Shiki," Shen He established a summoning channel to Ryougi Shiki, "I can only trouble you to relay the information. Tell them not to worry."
"I'll help you."
Ryougi Shiki's hand was already on the hilt of her sword.
"No, not for now." Shen He quickly stopped her. "I won't hesitate if I need it."
He was really a little worried that Ryougi Shiki would suddenly agree to the summoning, after all, her abilities were completely unsuited to this kind of space battlefield.
"...Alright."
Ryougi Shiki didn't say anything more, but she also didn't take her hand off the hilt of her sword.
She looked at the somewhat flustered crowd in front of her.
"Shen… Master said they're fine."
This was still Ryougi Shiki's first time using Master to address Shen He.
"Really? Miss Ryougi Shiki." Phil Coulson, who was somewhat familiar with Ryougi Shiki among the crowd, strode over.
"That's all there is to it." Ryougi Shiki turned her head to look at the large screen. "What's there to worry about?"
"Oh?"
Semiramis's gaze gently swept over Ryougi Shiki's palm. She suddenly narrowed her eyes, a fox-like smile appearing on her face.
She was starting to find things increasingly interesting.
Meanwhile, Shen He, after asking Ryougi Shiki to reassure the people on Earth, looked at the "big net" gradually approaching in front of him.
Such an energy net diffused a force field to those small generators, equivalent to being impenetrable. It seemed the Chitauri army still possessed some trump cards.
"But..." Shen He muttered to himself, "The enemy's trump card has already been revealed, which is somewhat reassuring."
After being reminded by Semiramis last night, he had been on guard against the enemy's preparations.
After all, the Chitauri already knew about the Earth forces' powerful individual combat capabilities.
"Master, the others might run into trouble over there," Kusuo Saiki's voice appeared in Shen He's mind. "Violet's weaponry might not be able to break through such a barrier."
"That's right." Shen He's gaze immediately became serious, looking again at the pillars not far away. "Let's make this quick."
Almost the instant the words fell, the figures of the three of them suddenly disappeared.
They broke through the enemy's encirclement and appeared directly in front of their target.
"This is the place."
Shen He took out a bomb he had prepared from his backpack, chose a gap, and threw it in. He waited for Kusuo's teleportation ability to refresh, and then, with a long-distance instant teleport, he arrived beside Violet.
A large expanse of intense light suddenly erupted.
In this silent world, the center of the giant pillar shone with crack-like red light, rapidly spreading. Even from Shen He's distance, he could clearly see it was quickly crumbling.
Tony's "blow it up" meant not even leaving any fragments behind.
"This ability is too overpowered."
Even Thor, a veteran of countless battles, had never experienced such a war.
It's likely even the Asgardian army would struggle to catch such a powerful team, one capable of freely traversing the battlefield.
Shen He didn't pay much attention to Thor's amazement. He was searching for Violet's figure on the battlefield. This wasn't hard to find. After they appeared, the active red phantom on the battlefield flew towards them amidst the dense laser bombardment, looking fluid, graceful, and relaxed.
