Years have quietly passed by since the events of the Edd War, and the timeline has moved forward significantly.
Now, Shamrock, Shanks, Buggy, and Bullet are all standing in the same place on a tropical island in the New World, as they had just finished a rather one-sided battle against a Marine battalion that tried to ambush them.
Shamrock, Shanks, and Buggy are now 14 years old, and their appearances are beginning to mature as they continue to grow stronger through their hellish daily training.
Buggy, in particular, is being molded by Bullet into a proper soldier who will not back down without a fight, a stark contrast to his original cowardly self. However, he still complains quite a bit during the process.
Shanks, who had already learned how to use the basics of Armament Haki at a young age, was able to achieve even more mastery of it over the last two years, so that if Shamrock did not exist in this place to compare him to, Shanks' progress would be even more impressive to the average eye, as there is simply no comparison to normal children their age.
Bullet also grew significantly in character over the two years that had passed since the Edd War, as he learned to open up more and trust others, thanks to his persistent friendship and rivalry with Shamrock.
Bullet had begun to slowly adopt the values the Roger Pirates had upheld on their ship, the same values of freedom and loyalty that Shamrock and Shanks had grown up with since they were babies.
"This is incredibly boring, as these guys went down way too fast. Next time, tell the Marines to bring Garp or Sengoku if they want actually to catch me," Roger said with a bored expression while holding one fainted Marine Captain in his one arm like a sack of potatoes, before tossing him aside onto a pile of unconscious bodies.
While Roger complained, Shanks sat on a rock, eating a bar of chocolate and laughing at the weak Marines.
Buggy, however, had a pair of binoculars on as he scanned the horizon, while Shamrock and Bullet stood side by side, wiping dust off their clothes.
"Oi, that is mine, I was saving that for later," Shamrock said towards Shanks.
Shanks devoured the entire chocolate bar in one bite without saying anything, as he just looked at Shamrock with a widened, mischievous grin on his face that promised he would do it again.
Shamrock was about to say something back to scold him, but then, a sudden frantic shout from the crow's nest position where Buggy had climbed up paused their would-be disagreements immediately.
"CAPTAIN!!! THE WHITEBEARD PIRATES ARE HERE!!!" Buggy yelled at the top of his lungs towards Roger.
Buggy was the designated scout for the day, and his voice cracked with a mix of fear and adrenaline.
While Buggy panicked, the others grew excited instantly, especially Roger, whose boredom vanished and was replaced by a grin that his mustache couldn't hide.
Gaban and Rayleigh, who were cleaning their weapons nearby, stood closer to Roger, who had just stood up with an intense energy radiating from him.
"Roger, should we leave? We just fought against someone, and the log pose hasn't set yet," Rayleigh said towards Roger, playing the voice of reason as always.
Roger looked at Rayleigh with a strange expression, as if Rayleigh had just asked if the sky was green.
"Since when did I run from a fight? Especially against Newgate," Roger said towards Rayleigh with a laugh.
This response made Gaban and Rayleigh look at each other with a seemingly understanding nod, as they knew there was no stopping him.
They both sighed in unison as they started getting ready for the upcoming fight, checking their weapons and cracking their necks.
Their observation haki then picked up the sound of someone landing on the Island's shore with a heavy impact.
Someone powerful is now approaching them at high speed, as the other members of the Roger Pirates that are on the deeper part of the Island were prepared to face the intruders.
'So Oden is finally going to join us after this. I am curious to see what difference I made when I cured Captain Roger of his illness completely, and with Bullet not leaving the Roger Pirates in this timeline,' Shamrock thought to himself.
He then saw Oden's running figure bursting through the jungle, moving like a wild boar as he tackled two members of the Roger Pirates aside without actually injuring them, just pushing them out of his path.
"I SMELL A BEAST!" Oden yelled with a wild look in his eyes.
He ran straight towards the three strongest presences he felt, which were Roger, Rayleigh, and Gaban.
Bullet also got excited at the sight of the samurai. Still, he knew his place and knew he wouldn't have the chance to fight Oden yet, as Oden is the crazy samurai he had been reading about in the newspaper and is currently a Division Commander-level opponent.
"Should we stop him, Gaban?" Rayleigh asked Gaban as both of them unsheathed their weapons to intercept the charging samurai.
But before they could walk towards Oden and attack, Roger called out to the two of them and raised his hand.
"Rayleigh, Gaban, I don't want you two getting hurt," Roger said while grinning widely.
He ran past them to meet with Oden head-on, while both Rayleigh and Gaban complained loudly about Roger's excuse.
"You just want to fight him yourself!" Rayleigh said to Roger, who just laughed and ignored his vice captain.
Roger, running at incredible speed, approached the attacking distance of Oden. Oden had his two swords ready and leaped into the air.
"YO SAMURAI!" Roger said as a greeting.
He unsheathed his blade, Ace, with his right hand and instantly coated it with a massive amount of Conqueror's Haki as well as advanced Armament Haki, causing black lightning to crackle violently around the blade.
"KAMUSARI!" Roger then swung his sword in a horizontal arc.
The attack directly hit Oden on his torso, knocking him back with so much force that he flew through the forest like a cannonball.
The expression Roger shows is a broad, satisfied grin, while he holds the pose he struck Oden in.
Oden, who had been knocked back, hit multiple trees, smashing through them one by one, which set off a chain of explosions from the sheer kinetic force.
"Captain's haki is really intense today; it makes you think about the sheer weight of his own will to conquer," Shamrock outwardly commented as he shielded his eyes from the dust.
This comment made Shank's eyes start to sparkle with admiration, as he idolized Roger.
At the same time, Bullet couldn't help but admire the overwhelming strength that Roger just displayed with a single swing.
Then Shamrock saw a massive figure jumping above the tree line, one holding a giant naginata, wearing a captain's coat, and with flowing blonde hair.
Shamrock also heard Roger talking to himself, as if waiting for the jumping figure, as it was the primary opponent that Roger actually wanted to face today.
Then, red and black lightning started coming out of Roger's sword again, as he then got ready and held Ace with both of his hands to brace himself, while Whitebeard's falling figure did the same with his blade, Murakumogiri.
Shamrock turned towards Shanks, Buggy, and Bullet, as they all wore huge grins on their faces, sensing the history that was about to be made, as they began to get ready for the shockwave.
When Whitebeard's figure fell from the sky, the intensity of their clash started ripping through the ground as well as tearing the very atmosphere apart.
They did not even touch blades, as their Haki formed a barrier between them. Shamrock looked up and saw the sky split in two, the clouds parting in fear of the two kings.
Shamrock also saw Oden's figure in the distance, running back with his sword stabbed on the ground as he was stopping himself from being thrown away by the wind pressure of the clash.
After a few minutes of the initial shockwave subsiding, they both stood in the center of the destruction that they had made in their clash, while their respective crews gathered from behind them to back them up.
"GURARARARARARARA!" Whitebeard laughed his iconic laugh with his crew members like Marco, Jozu, and Vista standing behind him.
They all grinned towards the Roger Pirates, and Whitebeard's entire crew started looking at the Roger Pirates as if they were the prey in this particular situation.
"WAHAHAHAHAH!" Roger laughed as well at the same time as Whitebeard.
The Roger Pirates stood firmly behind him, with Shamrock, Shanks, and Bullet standing proudly at the side of Rayleigh and Gaban.
They all wore grinning expressions as well, looking right back at the Whitebeard Pirates as if they were the prey in this particular situation.
The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife, but there was no animosity, only the thrill of the challenge.
"ROGER!" Whitebeard said towards Roger, calling him out with a smirk.
"NEWGATE!" Roger grinned towards Newgate as well, calling him out by his family name.
The two captains laughed once again, as they both started taking the weapons that they had set aside, signaling the start of the real skirmish.
"ROB THEM OF EVERYTHING!" The two captains said in unison.
It was their twisted way of saying hello, as their crews roared and started attacking each other.
The legendary three-day battle between the Roger Pirates and the Whitebeard Pirates officially happened.
