Chapter 128 - Chapter 128 A Queens Justice

Chaim's POV

Audrey catches every whispered word floating through the dining hall, yet she remains unbothered by the cruel gossip.

We stand clustered in the King's private chamber while Garcia cracks the door open, allowing us to eavesdrop on the heated discussion in the Throne room.

"This Kingdom cannot survive with a deaf Queen," Hayes's voice cuts through the chatter. "The King should have cast her aside and chosen Carrie instead. She would have made a proper Queen."

Elder Marianne's sharp response follows immediately. "Explain to me why we cannot have a deaf Queen. I fail to see any issue with her condition."

Angry voices erupt from multiple directions, creating a chaotic symphony of outrage. I cannot determine if their fury stems from Hayes's cruel words or Marianne's challenge.
