What Else Can Be More Solid?
Caleb's fingers pressed firmly against my jaw, his thumb tracing a path just beneath my lips. The heat in his gaze scorched through me, electric and charged with an intensity that made my skin tingle.
"Repulsed by you?" The words rolled off his tongue like velvet wrapped around steel, low and commanding in a way that sent shivers down my spine. "Jessica, if that were true, I wouldn't still be tasting you on my lips."
My breathing faltered for just a moment, but he noticed everything. That slight smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
God, this man and his silver tongue. Part of me wanted to surrender right there, to give in and beg him to take everything I had to offer. But I forced myself to stand firm. Sure, I had a weakness for long hair and those mismatched eyes combined with a body that could make angels weep, but I still had some pride left to salvage.
