Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Our sweet girl is going to rule the world

Two minutes later, Yao An pushed open her bedroom door and her eyes immediately landed on Jiang Jingya on the sofa.

She was wearing a white dress, her chestnut hair beautifully braided, with the ends falling over her shoulders. Her peach blossom eyes were round and bright, and her slightly chubby, baby-faced cheeks were filled with a youthful radiance and liveliness.

Unlike Yao An's foxy face, Jiang Jingya's features were much softer, the kind of standard campus 'white moonlight' beauty.

It was difficult to say which was more outstanding: Yao An's or Jiang Jingya's, with their different styles and temperaments.

This was a long-standing puzzle that had troubled the students of No. 1 High School for years.

That's great, not a single thing has changed.

Yao An's beautiful lips unconsciously curved into a smile.

However, she quickly noticed the eight-year-old boy bouncing on the sofa beside Jiang Jingya.

Her younger brother, Yao Jingxuan.

Damn it, why hasn't this unlucky child undergone a sex change!

Yao An had reason to suspect she was being targeted by the Transmigration Management Bureau, but she had no evidence.

The moment the bedroom door opened, Jiang Jingya had already stopped playing with Yao Jingxuan and turned to look.

The first glimpse of Yao An made her unconsciously freeze.

This was because the other party was wearing loose jeans and a hooded sweatshirt, a bucket hat, and a cartoon mask. This outfit looked rather mismatched.

"Jing... Jingya."

Yao An scratched her head; meeting her as a female was still a bit awkward.

It felt very strange.

Before Jiang Jingya could speak, Yao Jingxuan piped up first.

"Yao An, your clothes are so ugly, you look like a mummy."

Yao An glared at him, and the foolish Oudoudou immediately shut up.

He saw a resolute determination in her eyes, as if she was ready to sacrifice family for a greater cause.

Although her sister used to be cold, she had never looked at him like that before.

Liu Ying, who had just finished washing fruit and walked out of the kitchen, also paused when she saw her daughter's outfit.

"An'an, where did you dig up these clothes? Why aren't you wearing the new dress I bought you?"

Yao An opened her mouth but couldn't speak.

In the past, whenever she saw a beautiful woman, she would fantasize that if she looked like that, she would definitely go out with three band-aids on, fully displaying her overflowing charm.

But thoughts were just thoughts; actually making her wear a dress to see people still made her feel incredibly embarrassed.

"Pfft."

Jiang Jingya couldn't help but cover her mouth and snicker.

Yao An looked helplessly at her childhood friend.

"I actually think there's nothing wrong with wearing this."

After all, she dressed like this before her transmigration, although she was often criticized for it.

"It's 37 degrees in Suzhou today; if you go out in that outfit, you'll turn into a baked sweet potato."

Jiang Jingya walked up to Yao An and took off her mask. After seeing her entire face clearly, her delicate brows unconsciously furrowed.

Yao An felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at so closely. She unconsciously touched her delicate skin and asked uncertainly:

"Wh-What's wrong? Is there something wrong with my face?"

Jiang Jingya nodded, her face full of solemnity.

"A big problem."

Yao An's heart skipped a beat. Could she have seen through her transmigration?

Their relationship was just that of best friends; there was no reason she could see it while Liu Ying, her biological mother, couldn't.

Just as she was lost in thought, she heard Jiang Jingya say:

"The problem is huge, you didn't even put on makeup!"

Yao An was speechless. She had considered all the consequences of her transmigration identity being exposed, but she never imagined it was just about not wearing makeup?

Was that even a big deal?

"It's fine, let's just go like this. Aren't we going shopping? Let's hurry, or the restaurant will have a long wait later."

"No, no."

Jiang Jingya placed both hands on Yao An's shoulders and pushed her back into the room.

"Having such a beautiful face and not wearing makeup is simply a waste of natural beauty."

"You know, I'm naturally beautiful; I don't need cosmetics to enhance my looks."

"Natural beauty also needs maintenance, just like a flower; whether it has exquisite packaging makes a huge difference in price."

Perhaps feeling that her words might be misinterpreted, as if she were treating her best friend like merchandise, she added:

"Anyway, that's the idea. As girls, we must first take responsibility for our own image, not for anything else, but simply to please ourselves."

"And you used to be very good at matching clothes. Why are you dressed so casually today? We have a whole afternoon for shopping; you don't need to rush."

Liu Ying watched her daughter being reluctantly pushed back into the room and shook her head helplessly.

"This child, why is she so strange today?"

"Mom, I want to eat bayberries!"

Yao Jingxuan pointed at the fruit in Liu Ying's hand, bouncing around.

"All you know is eat, eat, eat. You've ruined everything in the house. These are for your sister; you're not allowed to eat them."

Liu Ying had no good attitude towards her son, who felt like a bonus from a phone top-up.

"Don't move around, be careful or I'll mess up your eyeliner."

Yao An sat in front of the vanity mirror, feeling as if she were on pins and needles. Before her was Jiang Jingya's bright and serious face.

They were very close, so close that she could feel the warm breath exhaled by the other person.

Her face felt ticklish, and her heart inexplicably sped up. Yao An unconsciously shifted backward.

"What are you doing?"

"I... I'll do it myself."

Before the other person could agree, Yao An had already snatched the eyeliner pencil and began gesturing with it on her beautiful foxy eyes.

After a while, she finally found the right spot and suddenly drew a line.

A thick black line immediately appeared on her upper eyelid.

"Gagagagagaga."

Jiang Jingya couldn't hold it in and burst into goose-like laughter.

"Is this a 'try not to laugh' challenge? I admit I lost."

Seeing the cool temperament in the vanity mirror ruined by that thick black line, Yao An couldn't help but bite her lower lip.

How embarrassing. She had transmigrated, but she hadn't inherited a single skill.

This was her first time experiencing makeup in eighteen years; she was completely clueless, alright?

"Why do you look like you just woke up today? Are you planning to transform from a cool campus belle into a clumsy beauty?"

About half an hour later, Yao An felt her backside was a bit numb. Only then did Jiang Jingya let out a long breath and stop her work.

She looked at Yao An's face as if admiring a work of art.

"Done! So beautiful, you're practically a little Fox spirit, you're going to charm my soul away."

Yao An gazed dazedly at herself in the vanity mirror, speechless.

Her eyes held affection, and her charm was innate.

If her bare-faced beauty scored 9.3, then after light makeup, it reached at least 9.6 or even 9.8.

This was even with Jiang Jingya's admittedly poor skills.

After all, the other person was just a freshly graduated high school student, and at most, she had only been learning makeup for about three months.

"Next is choosing an outfit to match the makeup. Do you want to wear something sweet or more nature-inspired?"

Jiang Jingya stood in front of the wardrobe, looking at the various clothes, lost in thought.

"I..."

"Ah, this one looks good."

She took out a white off-the-shoulder ruffle dress from the wardrobe.

"This skirt is too short; it doesn't cover anything."

Yao An quickly waved her hands.

"It is a bit short."

Jiang Jingya nodded seriously.

Then she pulled out a pair of white opaque tights.

"Just wear these with it, and it'll be perfect."

The thought of herself in a short skirt and tights made Yao An's sense of shame explode.

"No, no, I'll still wear long pants."

"Oh, come on, just wear this outfit! You'll look so sweet and beautiful in it, and don't you think this dress matches the one I'm wearing perfectly?"

Jiang Jingya shook Yao An's arm, pouting playfully.

"You've never tried the sweet girl style before; just try it, try it! We sweet girls are going to rule the world!"

Yao An was a bit helpless; ultimately, she couldn't win against her.

Every time Jiang Jingya acted coquettishly, she couldn't help but want to satisfy her. It was true then, and it was true now.

"Then... then fine."

"Mwah~"

Jiang Jingya pecked her on the cheek, incredibly affectionate.

Yao An's cheeks unconsciously flushed.

This feeling was so strange... no, it was utterly bizarre.

Before her transmigration, Jiang Jingya would never have acted like this with her.

I like it so much.

Sweet girls rule the world!
