Chapter 1 - I get you after acid attack

Part 1: The Aftermath

The silence of the recovery room was shattered.

A figure emerged: Lexi, all six feet of her, clad in a sleek surgical gown that couldn't hide the curve of a goddess. Her features were now perfect, meticulously restored by a miracle of modern medicine. She was a vision—gorgeous, brilliant, and terrifyingly intense.

But her eyes, usually a sparkling electric blue, were frantic.

"Mom," Lexi's voice was sharp, a diamond cutting glass. "Where is my heart? Where is Melon?"

Miss Angelica, Lexi's mother, was a pillar of the fashion world, usually flawless, but now her composure was fractured. Her face was etched with a profound, weary sadness.

"He's going to the airport, sweetie," her mother whispered, tears welling in her own eyes. "He thinks... he thinks he doesn't deserve you anymore. Now that you're perfect again, he feels you can get someone better. I tried to talk to him, but he just ran."

The words hit Lexi like a physical blow. Her chest tightened, a familiar, agonizing clench. It was the pain of a soul rejecting its shell. Without a word, she snatched the keys to her customized Inferno GT.

The sound of the sports car's engine ripping through the quiet hospital driveway was the roar of a wounded predator. Lexi didn't drive; she flew. The speedometer needle kissed 320 meters per second (over 700 miles per hour) on the empty city bypass—a desperate race against a collapsing world.

Part 2: The Confrontation

She slammed the car to a halt at the private airfield entrance, discarding the keys, and burst through the terminal doors. Her eyes scanned the waiting area, settling instantly on the man who had occupied her every waking thought for six months.

There he was: Melon. Soft, almost deceptively delicate. Five feet of pure, angelic light, his features so gentle and beautiful he looked like a character drawn from the pages of an enchanted manga. He stood with a small bag, his head bowed, the picture of quiet sorrow.

Lexi marched toward him, the sound of her surgical slippers pounding on the polished marble. She didn't hesitate. Her hand swung out, delivering a sharp, shocking slap that echoed in the quiet terminal.

Melon stumbled, looking up with wide, innocent eyes, a pink flush spreading across his cheek.

Lexi's own carefully constructed perfection crumbled. Tears streamed down her face, the saline burning against her newly healed skin.

"WHY NOW?!" she screamed, her powerful voice cracking. "When you loved me so purely, when you cared for me even after the world told me I was dust because of this scar! You took care of me, you loved me, and now that I am finally perfect again—tell me, why are you leaving me?"

She pulled his small, fragile body into a desperate embrace, her strength completely overpowering his. Melon just stood there, unmoving, tears silently tracing the slap mark on his cheek.

Part 3: Six Months Earlier - The Acid

[Flashback - Six Months Prior]

The stadium was a sea of flashing lights and ecstatic screams. Lexi, the reigning Pop Queen, was mid-song—a vortex of energy and perfect pitch.

Then, chaos. A shadowy figure surged onto the stage. Before security could react, a vial of searing liquid flew.

Acid.

Lexi screamed. The crowd dissolved into panic—running, scattering, pushing to escape. Nobody stopped to help the celebrity bleeding on the stage.

Except one.

A boy rushed forward, his small figure appearing impossibly brave amidst the fear. He scooped her up, his own clothes instantly damaged by the contact, and raced toward the exits. It was Melon.

Part 4: The Betrayal

One hour later, Lexi woke up in the stark white hospital room. She saw her reflection in the metallic bed rail. The right side of her once-perfect face was a landscape of raw, terrible scars.

She erupted in a primal, agonizing scream.

Miss Angelica rushed to her, holding her tightly. "No, no, my child. Everything will be okay."

"No, Mom! Look at me! I look so scary and ugly because of that acid!" Lexi shrieked, batting at her mother's hands.

Then, the door opened. Arion, Lexi's boyfriend—tall, strong, rich, and handsome—stepped in. Lexi rushed into his arms, sobbing.

"Arion, Arion..."

Arion saw her face. His eyes, once full of possessive adoration, went blank with revulsion. He pushed her back, not gently, causing her to stagger.

"Sorry, Lexi," Arion said, his voice flat, devoid of warmth. "I want to break up with you. Forget about the marriage."

He turned and walked out. Lexi collapsed back onto the bed, utterly shattered.

Soon after, her "friends" filed in. They stayed for minutes, their eyes constantly flicking away from her face, their movements awkward.

Outside the door, their voices drifted clearly into the room:

Friend 1: "She looks so ugly."

Friend 2: "Now I understand why Arion broke up with her."

Friend 3: "Who wants a girl with acid scars?"

Lexi heard every word. Her heart, already broken by Arion, shattered again.

Part 5: The Angel's Voice

The door opened softly. Melon walked in, his presence immediately calming, his voice sweet and gentle.

"Hello, Miss Lexi. I'm happy you're safe."

Lexi lashed out, fueled by anger and shame. "Happy? You like that I'm okay? Look at my face! Everyone left me—my boyfriend, my friends. If my fans see me, they will too! You know the world only sees outer beauty!"

Melon simply walked closer, his gaze steady and unwavering.

"What are you saying, Miss Lexi? I can see your inner beauty—your heart and your voice, which is still full of warmth. Yes, many people only see the outside, but some also see the inner light."

He paused, his voice turning firm. "If your friends or boyfriend left you, it is their loss, not yours. And the people who truly love you—your parents—are crying for you and they are still with you. Don't forget that."

Lexi was silenced. His purity and conviction were a shield against her despair.

Melon quietly left the room to speak to Miss Angelica and Mr. Anglic.

Part 6: A Price Beyond Money

The Doctor was explaining the situation to Lexi's parents.

"Because Dr. Melon acted so fast, Lexi only sustained scars. If the treatment had been delayed, it's possible her whole face would have melted. He saved her."

Lexi's parents embraced Melon tightly.

"Thank you, thank you so much for saving our daughter," Miss Angelica cried. "But she is so broken... her friends and boyfriend left her..."

"They were all fake," Mr. Anglic muttered bitterly. "But it is a deep hurt when those we love abandon us in trouble."

Melon nodded gently. "Don't worry, Mr. and Miss Anglic. She will recover. And as I am a psychiatrist, I can help her mental recovery here in the hospital. As for the scars, they can be fixed too."

Miss Angelica looked up, hope blazing through her tears. "How? Please tell us! If it takes all our money, we will do anything! Our family is rich, so don't worry about the cost!"

Melon's gentle gaze softened further. "Miss Angelica, it's not about the money. I know you have trillions. The cost is time. The surgical cost is $1.2 million, which I know is nothing to you, but Lexi and we must wait for six months so her body can recover naturally. Operating sooner could cause more trouble. Please be calm. If you both break, who will support Lexi?"

Miss Angelica sank onto a bench, crying not from despair, but from relief. "Doctor, can we take Lexi home? Our staff and doctors can attend to her there. We will organize all the necessary medical facilities in her room."

"We can do that," the doctor agreed. "But what about her mental health? Dr. Melon's counseling will help immensely."

Miss Angelica looked at Melon, her eyes pleading. "Doctor Melon, please. Can you come and stay at our mansion? We will take care of you, give you anything you need. You saved Lexi, and she will be more comfortable with you."

"Yes, please, Doctor Melon," Mr. Anglic urged.

Melon, shy and nervous, looked into Lexi's room where she sat alone and despondent. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.

"Okay," he said softly. "I will come and stay at your mansion for six months. I will take care of Lexi, 24/7."
