Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Xingqiu Heads to Chenyu Vale with Goods, the Second Lottery Begins

Returning to the Jade Chamber, Ganyu finished handling her official duties.

At this time, it was already ten in the morning. Though she had missed a few things, she couldn't be blamed, after all, Ganyu's workload was terrifyingly heavy. Ordinary people, even ten of them, couldn't compare to her alone.

Ningguang had even remarked bluntly that without Ganyu, at least twenty top talents would be required to replace her.

During her break, Ganyu sent her master a reply about Su Han. The message contained her personal experiences and explained that Su Han himself possessed Qilin blood.

"I hope Master will not be angry. This was entirely a misunderstanding."

After completing the final document, Ganyu finally let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, her master hadn't come over, or it would've turned into a huge embarrassment.

However, what puzzled her was that she had met Su Han several times before. Why had she never sensed the Qilin bloodline within him until now?

Ganyu frowned slightly in confusion. Could it be that when a divine beast and a human have offspring, the bloodline remains hidden for a period?

But she hadn't experienced such a phase herself when she was young.

She couldn't figure it out, and she dared not ask further. After all, such matters involved one's partner, and knowing her master, Cloud Retainer, who was eloquent and fond of teasing, if she asked too much, the adeptus might say something like, "Since my disciple and that Shopkeeper Su are both half-Qilin immortals, why don't they get to know each other better?"

If that ever happened, Ganyu would die of embarrassment on the spot.

What she didn't know was that her master really would make such a recommendation in the future, and not just once.

Meanwhile, business at the comic shop was still booming. With Xingqiu's help, a large batch of white paper had been delivered by nine in the morning.

Seeing tons of paper being carried in, Su Han exclaimed in surprise, "This much?"

The Feiyun Commerce Guild really had some tricks up their sleeve. When he was purchasing paper himself, the prices had been high, sometimes even double. Yet the Feiyun Guild managed to bring in several dozen tons of white paper at the lowest price. Truly impressive!

Xingqiu grinned proudly. "We got lucky. This batch was stocked before the new year. It was originally meant for a bookstore, but that store went bankrupt early this year. Father was just worrying about how to sell it off. When I mentioned your shop, they immediately realized they could move it. If not, this stock would've been stuck with us."

Though that was what Xingqiu said, Su Han didn't quite believe it was such a coincidence.

After all, the Feiyun Commerce Guild mainly dealt in gemstones and fine minerals produced in Liyue, and occasionally sold silk, as well as furs and herbs from Sumeru.

For them to be stockpiling paper? Su Han didn't buy it. He suspected that Xingqiu's father had deliberately prepared this batch to help his son establish business ties with him.

As expected of a great merchant, meticulous and farsighted.

"In any case, thank you," Su Han said with a smile, then changed the topic. "By the way, do you want to act as a reseller for the comics? I'll sell them to you at a lower price. But you know, my shop's production is still small. I can only supply you with about two thousand copies."

Xingqiu blinked, then nodded. "Hm? Really? That's fine. But, Brother Su, when will the next chapters of Wind and Cloud be released?"

Last night, Xingqiu had barely slept. He kept pulling out the comic to reread it over and over again. The latter half was simply too captivating.

The legend of the martial world, truly deserving of the name. With nothing but an erhu, he repelled the enemies at Heavenly Lake.

That strength, that spirit, that moral conviction, Xingqiu admired them deeply.

He had once thought that stories of love and hatred didn't quite fit his idea of a true hero. But the appearance of Nameless changed that completely, making him fall in love with the comic.

"You mean that? Today's your lucky day, it's available. But don't slip up again like last time, right after leaving the store."

Su Han glanced at the system and spoke lightly.

[System]: Myriad Worlds Comic System (Permission Level 1; sell 50,000 copies to advance to the next level. Current sales: 3,182 copies.)

[Comic]: Wind and Cloud (TV-Drama Imitation Comic Version)

[Permission]: Level 3 (Can produce volumes 5–6)

[Restriction]: Unlock next content after selling 8,000 copies

[Reward]: Unlock third lottery after 8,000 copies sold; after five lotteries, receive one free treasure draw. One lottery currently available.

[Prize Pool]: Randomly obtain martial arts techniques, treasures, pills, divine weapons, or mystical items from the Wind and Cloud world. No super-tier items appear below Permission Level 5.

[Bonus]: If the host obtains a martial art, it can be leveled up using points. One comic equals one point.

Hearing that Volumes 5 and 6 were ready, Xingqiu was ecstatic. He grabbed Su Han's hand excitedly. "Really? Brother Su, you're amazing! You truly understand me! Don't worry, I'll make sure these comics sell fast!"

Seeing the boy's enthusiasm, Su Han felt pleased. After all, having a passionate fan as a reseller meant an expanded sales channel. The third lottery was just around the corner.

That said, the Storm Riders story wasn't long, just a few more volumes before the first part ended.

So Su Han wasn't in a hurry. Currently, over 3,000 copies had sold in Liyue Harbor, and Xingqiu was taking 2,000 more. Reaching the next unlock stage wouldn't take long, perhaps less than a week.

Right now, the topic of comics in the city was only just beginning to spread; true popularity would still take some time.

That morning, Su Han handed over a total of 2,400 copies to Xingqiu. Why 400 extra? Because there were currently six volumes, 400 copies of each, making a perfect set.

After all, selling full sets was always the most profitable.

Xingqiu moved quickly. To stay on schedule, he brought Mora notes that same afternoon and even arranged a witness to certify the contract.

Ordinarily, it wouldn't have been necessary, but Su Han insisted. In business, integrity was everything. Moreover, Xingqiu represented the Feiyun Commerce Guild, not just himself, so proper procedures were essential.

Before leaving, the young man still clutched the comics reluctantly. Even though he had just received the latest volumes, he sneaked back to Su Han and asked about the next update.

"How much longer until I can read the continuation? I heard from Hu Tao that your printing machine has this weird rule, you can't see new chapters until you've sold enough?"

"Cough, cough… 8,000 copies. With your reselling, we're only 3,000 short. Give it a week at most, and the next part will be unlocked."

Upon hearing this, Xingqiu grew even more excited.

"Alright, then I'll be quick. I'll head to Chenyu Vale right away and make sure to return within a week. I definitely won't miss the update! But Brother Su, if I come back late, could you send the comics to Uncle Li at the Feiyun Commerce Guild?"

"No problem!"

A trivial matter for Su Han.

After seeing Xingqiu off, Su Han returned to the second floor of the shop. He had spent the morning with Ganyu and the afternoon with Xingqiu, he hadn't had any time to draw his lottery.

Now, finally, he could relax.

Without hesitation, Su Han went back to his room and opened the system. "Draw the second reward."

"Ding! Congratulations, you have obtained the martial art Cloud-Dissipating Palm from the Wind and Cloud world. Level: Beginner."

From the illusory prize pool, an ancient, yellowed manual floated out. Su Han caught it with a smile spreading across his face.

Just what he needed, how timely!

Moreover, Cloud-Dissipating Palm was a top-tier martial art in Wind and Cloud, combining both movement techniques and formidable attack power.
