Chapter 45 - Hela

Sigurd looked at his grandfather, who was also a powerful original Elder God, but he knew very well this person was a kind-hearted figure who had helped everyone in the comics. Even when his youngest son, Mimir, was killed, Buri had been present but could not interfere in the fight between the Vanir and Asgard. He had even helped Thor and other new mutants.

Although he appeared tough, the stories in Sigurd's memory painted him more as a god who had survived since the dawn of time.

"Grandfather, you do not have to worry that our situation will be like that of Asgard and the Vanir a few thousand years ago. My motive in this world is to have a peaceful life with my family around me."

Buri looked toward Sigurd but still did not believe peace was a reality for anyone.

"Peace is a fiction, my child. There will always be something that destroys the pieces we join together to make a peaceful life. But I hope you will have your own sanctuary."

Sigurd nodded, then walked toward Hela and picked her up.

"Look, you are just born, and three generations are already trying to decide your future."

Hearing his words, Hela, who was just a month old, blinked at him.

Sigurd then turned to his brother.

"Why worry? I will show her how the world is different; then it will depend on her choice which path to take."

Five years passed during that time. Hela had already started to walk around the palace—after all, she was the princess of Asgard.

Sigurd had not gone to Hippolyta since the last time he came. Although it had been five years in Asgard, only a few months had passed in her world, so he had not felt the need to go right away.

Just as he was thinking whether he should go or not, he heard a child's laughter coming from behind.

Turning back, he saw Hela coming toward him.

"Hela, did you sneak out again from your mother's palace?"

Hela, hearing her uncle's voice, did not bother to answer but came to stand in front of Sigurd.

"Uncle, I will stay here. I am not going back to my mother's palace. She always wants me to learn different etiquettes. I am tired, so I have decided I will stay with you from now on."

Sigurd looked at his niece. He could not help but sigh. After all, he was the one who had indulged her laziness over these years.

"Hela, if you do not learn those things, how will you be able to learn to run Asgard in the future if you become queen?"

Hela looked as if she did not understand the meaning, then said,

"Why should I run Asgard? I will enjoy life like you, Uncle. When the time comes, I will also build a palace like yours to sleep in every day."

Hearing her words, Sigurd felt speechless. Just as he was about to say something, a voice came from behind.

"Look, Sigurd, you have even made her lazy. I told you to come and train the soldiers of the Einherjar, but you are escaping from the work for a different reason."

Odin came with Frigga toward him, Odin looking a little angry at his recent behavior.

"Brother, there are many gods who can train the army. Why would I have to train them? After all, I have this little princess to train."

Hearing Sigurd's words, even Frigga was speechless.

"Brother, at least be a little active. Now even Hela has started to use you as an example to avoid her work."

Frigga's words gave Sigurd a headache.

"What to do with this Hela? You have to be more attentive to your work, or else your grandmother will beat me."

Hearing this, Hela shook her head.

"No, Grandmother won't beat you. She likes me so much that if I tell her, she won't beat you."

Listening to Hela's words, even Odin's face could not help but twitch. Then Odin looked toward Sigurd.

"Sigurd, where are you going?"

Hearing this, Hela also turned her head.

"I will go to another place for a few days, so I thought I would inform you."

Hela heard his words.

"I will also go with you."

Frigga looked at her daughter making a fuss about traveling with Sigurd. She did not know what to do.

Odin did not look at Hela's fussing but at Sigurd.

"Will there be danger?"

Sigurd shook his head.

"I am not going to fight."

Odin then turned his head toward Hela.

"Can you stay with your uncle alone for so many days?"

Hela nodded. Sigurd looked at Hela. He was planning to take her to Hippolyta so they could become familiar with each other. He also planned to bring Hippolyta to Asgard for a few months, but he was not sure if she would come.

"You do not have to worry about her, Brother. There will be people taking care of her."

Hearing his words, Frigga felt sure that Sigurd was going to meet a woman. She looked at Sigurd, then thought of something.

"Bring her to meet us. At least we should know her."

Hearing Frigga, Odin looked at his brother with a questioning gaze, to which Sigurd just nodded.

"I will bring her if she wants to come."

Hela, being a child, did not even understand what her parents and uncle were talking about, but she was already dreaming of seeing the world outside Asgard.

Sigurd did not travel directly from Asgard but took his spaceship, exiting Asgard through the Bifrost.

Looking at the vastness of space, Hela felt as if she had entered a new world.

"Uncle, where are we going?"

Hela looked out through the window of the spaceship at every corner.

Sigurd looked at her.

"We are going to a different world."

Then he exited the spaceship, carrying her and creating a protective bubble of space around her so she would not be affected by the void. After all, she was still a five-year-old child.

Sigurd, carrying Hela, disappeared from the place, and at the same time, the dimensional gate closed.

Heaven.

The Queen of Angels looked at the information she had received from her spy.

"Sigurd Borson has left Asgard with his niece."

Looking at the news, the Queen of Angels turned her head toward her general.

"Confirm the news from every source. If it is true, then inform the King of the Frost Giants to start their plan."
