Chapter 6 - Unintended Glances

Chapter 6: Unintended Glances

Lin Yue arrived at the apartment earlier than usual, hoping for a quiet morning before rehearsals. The city outside was alive with noise, but inside, everything felt still. He leaned against the counter, sipping his coffee, and allowed himself a rare moment of calm.

From the guest room, he heard movement — soft, deliberate. Krit emerged, but not as Lin Yue had expected. The bodyguard was wearing only a pair of dark pants, his upper body bare. Muscles flexed under smooth skin, golden eyes scanning the room as if nothing had changed.

Lin Yue froze mid-sip, eyes widening. Professional… stay professional… His mind scrambled to maintain composure, but his heart raced, and his face warmed unexpectedly.

Krit didn't notice his flustered stare, continuing to adjust his tablet on the counter. He moved with the same precision, the same calm control that had captivated Lin Yue since the beginning. The subtle tension in the room was almost tangible — Lin Yue aware of Krit's presence in a way he hadn't been before.

"Morning," Krit said evenly, not looking at him directly. "Breakfast is ready if you want it."

Lin Yue cleared his throat, trying to focus on the coffee in his hand instead of the strength and effortless confidence displayed before him. "M-morning," he stammered, voice slightly higher than intended.

Krit glanced briefly toward him, golden eyes catching his gaze for a split second. It was subtle, almost imperceptible, but Lin Yue felt it like a spark — a tiny, undeniable flutter in his chest.

Turning away to pour coffee into his cup, Krit didn't comment on the moment, leaving Lin Yue to deal with the sudden heat rising in his face. The bodyguard's professionalism remained intact, yet something about that brief, casual exposure, the effortless presence, made Lin Yue's thoughts wander in ways he hadn't expected.

Breakfast passed quietly, with Lin Yue stealing subtle glances at Krit, noting the careful strength in his movements and the calm authority he carried even in the simplest tasks. The spark from earlier lingered, a teasing reminder of the man's quiet allure.

When Krit finally left for a brief errand, Lin Yue exhaled sharply, realizing just how aware he had been of every detail — every flex of muscle, every deliberate step. That small spark, restrained and fleeting, had made an ordinary morning feel electric.

Even alone, Lin Yue could feel the weight of Krit's presence lingering in the room, a reminder that the man was not just a bodyguard but someone who affected him in ways he didn't yet understand. And somewhere in the back of his mind, he acknowledged a truth he wasn't ready to name: the spark was growing.
