Alexander's POV
Her throat moved upwards as she glanced around.
But still, she whispered. "W–Where?"
My reply was immediate. "My office."
She looked visibly shaken, but I didn't give her the chance to reply as I walked out. I could hear her sigh before I heard footsteps follow after.
When we finally got to my office, Serena had her hands behind her back, standing at a considerable distance away from me.
My heart tightened seeing her step away from me.
"You can have your seat." I said to her, gesturing to the chairs as I took my seat.
But she shook her head. "No, thank you. I'm fine standing this way."
My hands which were about to pick up a folder froze, then I looked up at her.
"Are you mad at me?" The question slipped out of me before I could stop it.
Serena snapped her head towards me and she chuckled. "I can only be mad at you if we had a relationship. We simply have nothing to do with each other."
