Chapter 1 - Scene One: The Corridor

I open my eyes from a short slumber. The smell of the place, the dampness in the air it all feels unfamiliar.

"Did I fall asleep again ?"

I stare at the ceiling, old wood scarred by time. Around me, a spacious but decaying room paint peeling off the walls, timber rotting away.

I sit on the floor, quietly scanning my surroundings.

"Damn it… not this dream again," I mutter under my breath.

Lately, my dreams have been strange, meaningless, yet vivid. What's even stranger is that I remember every detail. Each time, I find myself in a new place, as if every dream is another world.

This time, it looks like… a hotel room. Or something like it?

I sigh, running my eyes around the room.

Two doors. One buried under debris, the other open, leading into a wooden corridor lit by dim lamps fixed to the ceiling.

I stand up and move toward a small hole in the ceiling where sunlight leaks through, only to find metal bars sealing the way.

"Of course. Locked," I chuckle softly.

"Why did I think I would find it open?"

The air is heavy and cold it feels like I'm underground.

Alright, let's think this through, Let me clear my mind for a second

I sit back down, pick up a loose stone, and toss it into the air, catching mid air.

So, I'm trapped in another weird dream.

But unlike the others, this one starts in a closed space. Usually, I can roam freely.

This time, there's only one path forward and it's the corridor ahead.

But seriously… What's going on with these dreams?

Dreams are supposed to fade when you wake up.

Yet these… These stay my stuck in my mind like it's carved itself into my memory

Alright, enough of that. Focus on the real problem is how to get out of here.

Usually he comes to wake me, He always comes to my dreams just to find me.

He must really like me.

I laugh quietly, tossing the stone against the wall.

Okay, I've got a few options:

Wait for him to show up but this would take a lot of time

Go look for him.

Or… explore this dream a bit.

I stretch my arms.

If I'm stuck in this damned dream anyway, I might as well enjoy it, right?

Alright then… shall we begin?

hmmmmm?

My eyes drift to the blocked door.

No one's going to die if I take a peek… right?

I make my way toward it.

Though I call it a "door," it's more of a prison gate made of thick iron bars twisted with age. Behind the rubble, I can glimpse tiny trees and the mouth of a massive cave, at least ten meters tall from what i see

"What a sight… lucky me,always trapped on the wrong side."

I try to move the debris, but it won't budge. Oddity doesn't even look that heavy.

"Heh, dream logic. Always nonsense."

Ah, rightI forgot to check my pockets.

Usually, I bring what i was holding or what in my pocket with me,.

I pat my pockets: phone, wallet with some cash, cigarettes, lighter,.

"Now we're talking," I grin.

not a lot but it's better than nathing i'm right?

I don't know what's going on here, but if I'm going to be stuck here, I might as well turn this nightmare into something I can enjoy while I can .

And since I've got my phone this time, I'll make sure to record everything I see.

Alright. Let's move.

The corridor is wooden, dark brown fading toward black. Mold creeps along the walls, some boards are rotting, yet it all still holds together.

If this were a real place, it'd probably be famous, for its strange beauty impossible to ignore.

Dim lights hum overhead, flickering but still working.

The corridor feels off. Its color, its design completely different from the room I came from.

Even the size it looked normal from the door, but once inside, I noticed how vast it truly is. The walls are at least ten meters apart, and the ceiling soars twenty meters high.

This place… it's wrong. Even for a dream

The others had at least a trace of logic to compar

Minutes pass as I walk. No end in sight. The place I came from fades into darkness .

wait,,,,,darkness?

Wasn't it lit just moments ago?

Where did the lights go?

No. No, no, this doesn't feel right.

Don't tell me he's here already.

No. It's too soon. He never comes this early.

Everything's fine. Just keep walking.

Not because I'm scared of course not. Just bored. That's all.

I quicken my pace.

After a few minutes, I finally see the end of the corridor.

"Yes! Finally, something different!"

God, I was getting sick of this endless wood and the stench of rot

"Ahghj!" I spin around.

Nothing.

Right. My imagination. That's all.

I'm not scared just… hopeful someone else might be here you know nahh forgot it

Oh, no.

He's here.

!!He came too early.

"Is that the best you've got?" I shout into the dark. "We have played hide and seek ten times already! It's not scary anymore, for now I know your game!"

I shouldn't have said that!!!

I turn and run toward the light, toward the end of the corridor.

Behind me I hear his footsteps

"Shit, shit, shit!"

Why now?! Why is he chasing me?! He's supposed to watch, not hunt!

Something's wrong. Something's changed!!

I can't stop. I won't stop. Normally, I'd wake up the moment he starts moving.

But now? I'm still here.

"What's happening to me?!"

I'm gasping, my chest burning, fear clawing through me.

The footsteps grow louder, the dark closer

But the end is near, just a few more steps!

"Why are you chasing me?!" I scream.

I leap through the light at the end

Cold air brushes my back, and then gravity yanks me down.

I crash to the ground, panting, trembling, staring back into the endless black corridor.

"Goddamn what the hell is wrong with you today?!"

Sweat drips from my forehead.

Wait… sweat?

How the hell can I sweat in a dream?

This is getting worse by the second.

First the sealed room, then the chase… Now this?!

I sit up, catching my breath.

Hold on.

He's never chased me before.

Whenever he moves toward me, I wake up.

But this time… I didn't.

Could it be that

No. No, don't be stupid, Adam.

It's just a nightmare. You'll wake up soon.

Alright, where am I now?

Hmm…

Wait. I know this place.

The forest… from the dream two weeks ago!

I rise slowly to my feet.

Yes, it's from my dream! It's the small forest in a cave that had two closed doors in that dream, and as I can see, one of them is already open. It's the door to the passage I came from; the other one must be open too.

But if that's true…

Then these dreams

They're connected.

< exhales weary>

"Alright… first things first. Let's move away from that gate and see if the other one's still here."

I sigh, exhausted.

" I'm so damn tired of running man….."
