Chapter 85 - 85

Chapter 85: Medical Jonin

"Mirai-kun, I have already recommended your Medical Jonin promotion report to the Hokage. With your performance at the Land of Rivers Camp, I believe the report will be approved within the next few days."

Vice Director Kimura informed Hyuga Mirai of this good news after calling him into his office.

Although Medical Jonin generally do not receive the same benefits and village status as those who achieve Jonin through normal promotion, Hyuga Mirai is an exception and should not be viewed as a typical Medical Jonin.

Hyuga Mirai can now be said to be the most outstanding Medical Jonin in Konoha, even the veteran Medical Upper Ninja Aoki cannot compare to Hyuga Mirai in terms of medical skill; this is a well-known fact at the Land of Rivers Camp, and even Medical Upper Ninja Aoki himself has admitted it.

It can be said that if Hyuga Mirai were slightly older, he could take on a director position in Konoha Hospital, or even have the opportunity to serve as Vice Director.

If he truly became the Vice Director of Konoha Hospital, he would have more authority than a regular Jonin, essentially on par with the heads of other departments.

Therefore, Vice Director Kimura had to secure Hyuga Mirai for the Medical Ninja system; otherwise, constantly sending such an excellent Medical Ninja on missions would simply be a waste.

"Medical Jonin? Thank you, Vice Director Kimura, for your help. Is my age a bit…" Hyuga Mirai asked with a slight hesitation, but Vice Director Kimura quickly dismissed the age issue.

"Age is not an issue at all. No one can deny your performance on the Land of Rivers battlefield. If it weren't for your youth, I would have directly suggested to the Hokage to appoint you as Medical Director."

He treated many fellow Konoha Ninja, deciphered several Sand Ninja poisons, and saved the lives of hundreds of Konoha Ninja.

If such achievements are not enough to qualify for promotion to Medical Jonin, then the existing Medical Jonin in Konoha Hospital would feel ashamed every time they saw Hyuga Mirai; with fewer achievements and lives saved than him, yet holding a higher position, those with stronger feelings of shame would absolutely not be able to accept such a situation.

"Then thank you, Vice Director Kimura."

Hyuga Mirai politely declined for a moment, then happily accepted the matter. The higher his position now, the more secure he would be in Konoha.

"You're welcome. It should be in the next few days. Once the Hokage finishes his current tasks, he should call for you."

Kimura looked at the young Hyuga Mirai and smiled with satisfaction; at the same time, she felt a bit of pity, thinking that if Tsunade were still here, Konoha's medical system would be the strongest in the Ninja World.

Kimura could tell that Hyuga Mirai might be the only person who could truly revitalize Tsunade. After the two interacted, Tsunade's instances of heavy drinking and gambling significantly decreased, and even after their daily arguments, Tsunade never showed any anger.

The only drawback was probably the short time they spent together; otherwise, Kimura believed Hyuga Mirai could definitely persuade Tsunade to stay.

"Oh, right, Mirai-kun, your group returning might only have one month of rest. The Land of Earth and the Land of Lightning are getting a bit restless again..."

Before Hyuga Mirai left, Kimura gave him a reminder.

She shouldn't have said such things, as Konoha hadn't gathered concrete intelligence; it was merely an analysis by the Hokage and Konoha High-Level Executives during a meeting.

"I understand, Vice Director Kimura."

Hyuga Mirai nodded thoughtfully to show his understanding, then left.

The Land of Earth and the Land of Lightning had just concluded their war a while ago. Cloud Ninja Village paid the price of the Third Raikage's life, and the Stone Ninja also paid a considerable price to kill the Third Raikage.

The two great Ninja Villages hated each other intensely, but neither could likely take a bite out of the other in a short period. Although most Cloud Ninja had a Chakra attribute advantage over Stone Ninja, when it came to team combat ability, the Cloud Ninja were far behind; they were even inferior to Konoha.

Therefore, both sides had no choice but to cease hostilities, return to lick their wounds, and await the next opportunity.

The standoff between Konoha and Sand Ninja might have given them an opportunity; once one side falls, it would likely be their time to enter the fray.

Aside from the lively welcome for Orochimaru on the first day, the atmosphere within Konoha returned to its usual calm over the next two days.

Sand Ninja Village seemed to have no intention of negotiating peace and abandoning the war. Although repelled several times by Orochimaru, the Sand Ninja, like an indomitable cockroach, still intended to attack the Land of Fire and seize a large amount of profit.

Minato Namikaze served as the frontline commander for the first time after Orochimaru left, thus gaining considerable support from the village.

With continuous support from the village, it is believed that the Sand Ninja will be in a stalemate at the Wind River border for some time, and the Sand Ninja's supplies are clearly inferior to Konoha's. It is believed that it won't be long before the Sand Ninja will seek peace with Konoha.

This was the conclusion reached by the Konoha High-Level Executives after discussion. It is said that when Hiruzen Sarutobi gave orders to Minato Namikaze, Danzo directly stood up and left the Hokage Building.

Two days later, Kurenai Yuhi and Hyuga Kiyomi also returned with the rotating Ninja units. For this, Hyuga Mirai even left his laboratory to pick up his two teammates.

"Kurenai, Kiyomi, you're back."

Hyuga Mirai waved and greeted the two in the large group.

Upon hearing Hyuga Mirai's voice, Hyuga Kiyomi and Kurenai Yuhi turned their heads to look around, then chuckled and left the formation, walking towards Hyuga Mirai.

Upon returning to the village, one could actually leave the group at any time, but most people stayed to receive the villagers' welcome; if one didn't care, they could leave directly.

"Kurenai..."

Asuma in the group waved his hand, but Kurenai Yuhi didn't hear Asuma's call at all; Shiranui Genma, beside him, pitifully patted Asuma's shoulder, sighing for his teammate without saying a word.

"We're from the same team, yet you came back a few days before us."

Hyuga Kiyomi walked closer, then tilted her head and snorted, saying.

Hyuga Mirai smiled and said, "Regarding the promotion, I needed to come back two days earlier. It just so happens that you all returned to the village, so let me treat you to a good meal today."

"Promotion?" Kurenai Yuhi's ruby-like eyes lit up upon hearing this, and she immediately asked, "Mirai-kun is already a Chunin, is he going to be promoted to Jonin?"

"That's right, Medical Jonin. There should be accurate news in a couple of days."

Hyuga Mirai showed a proud and happy expression. After all, an eleven-year-old Medical Jonin was a first in the Ninja World, and he relied on his strength; the Hyuga Clan only helped him enter Konoha Hospital and provided no other assistance.

"Mirai-kun, you're amazing!"

Kurenai Yuhi, as always, showed the expression of a fangirl. They were still far from Jonin, but Hyuga Mirai had already surpassed them, which was indeed worthy of admiration.

Although Hyuga Kiyomi didn't react like Kurenai Yuhi, her pure white eyes still occasionally looked towards Hyuga Mirai.

However, Hyuga Kiyomi suddenly frowned slightly. She seemed to feel that something was off, so she asked, "Are you feeling unwell? Why are you walking so heavily?"

Hyuga Mirai's expression froze upon hearing this. You can even tell that?
