Chapter 13: One Heart… (Mutima, umodzi)

.

"…You're done crying?" Makhaza teased as Mutale stepped forward.

"I WASN'T CRYING," Mutale barked back.

"Bluhhhhh, the dark spots under your eyes say otherwise," Makhaza teased, rolling out his tongue.

"I have no time for this," Mutale barked as he stepped forward to face the commander. His steps were quick, his expression aggressive. He pointed his finger at the commander's chest and gave him a cold look in his eyes—one that spelled anger, resentment, and aggression. At that, he tightened his left fist.

"You didn't send me out there just to deliver a bomb, now did you?" Mwansa asked, his voice calm with aggression.

The commander looked at him, unphased, yet his eyes carried a certain hesitation—some guilt. He said nothing, merely staring straight into his eyes.

"ANSWER ME! YOU DIDN'T SEND ME OUT THERE JUST TO DELIVER THIS BOMB!!!!" Mutale barked, clenching his fist tighter, more aggressive, shoving his finger deep into the commander's chest.

Makhaza, Khumalo, and everyone surrounding the room kept silent, simply letting things unfold on their own.

"I did what was necessary… to open you up," the commander said.

"You had no problem letting your own son see so many of his own friends die," Mutale asked.

"Huuuh, Daddy? You had no problem seeing your very own son put himself through such trauma? Huuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh, Daddy?" Mutale said in mock aggression.

"You knew what you signed up for the very moment you chose to join the academy, didn't you?" said one of the soldiers in the room.

"You clearly cannot pinpoint the blame on your father, that's for sure," Makhaza said.

"How pathetic," he mocked.

"You don't know the full story, SO SHUT UP!" Mutale yelled.

"I can't apologize for anything… I owe nothing at the moment," the commander said.

"I know. I simply wanted to break down, that's all. We'll finish our business later, won't we, paps?" Mutale said, looking the commander straight in the eye with a psychotic expression and smile.

The commander simply looked back at him, unphased.

"Okay, display the screen," Mutale commanded as he made his way toward the table.

"Right."

The holographic screen was turned on, giving a completely detailed overview of the battlefield.

Mutale kept silent, scanning the screen—every inch, every corner, the open surface and secret positions where soldiers in the army were placed and positioned.

"Soooo, apparently… the biggest obstacle we have is the mid-commander general, regarding brute force and pure strength. He's positioned right in the middle of the battlefield… so as to have an overview of the surroundings… that way he can easily counter either by himself or with the use of his soldiers, whom he so calls pawns," Mutale said.

"So that explains why they launched a whole bunch of their soldiers at once," the commander said.

"Clearly they knew the outcome. Keeping our soldiers busy at the front would eventually exhaust them. Only then would they withdraw, even if it meant they lost a few numbers," Makhaza said, scratching his braids.

"Right," Mutale said, slightly irritated. "With our forces at the front weakened, that would give them an opening slot to attack our soldiers behind our front men… they were going to do that by ambush…"

He was interrupted by Khumalo.

"How exactly are you sure about that?" Khumalo asked.

"That's unless somehow they figured out that part of the defenses weren't really in the open."

"Yeah, that's right. My friend Matimba, who was stationed behind me just to keep watch, was shot down in the midst of her assist, despite being stationed far away," Mutale said.

"Not only that… the commander general I happened to be brawling with didn't seem phased at all—almost as though he wasn't anticipating a fight, but somehow was ready for any attack."

"So they had to use their strongest as the main guard to their tent," the commander said.

"Yes, in protection of the head scientist strategist, Roderick. Clearly, they knew someone was going to be sent after him. They needed to prevent that at all costs, and the thing giving me a headache is that they clearly knew what they were doing—and that isn't the end of it, I feel," Mutale said, scratching his head.

"So you got all that simply by observing the storm, huh? Impressed. I thought you were Mr. Jump-In-Without-Thinking, but clearly I see you do have a brain," Khumalo teased.

"How exactly was I supposed to make it past the battlefield, you idiot? I jump in, analyze, then attack… but regardless, some stuff is just too easy for me anyway," Mutale yelled.

"Soooooo, what's the plan now?" Khumalo asked.

Mutale scratched his head and slowly put his hand down.

"That's where he comes in," he said, pointing toward the commander general.

Everyone in the room turned to face him, falling silent as they awaited his orders.

(Inner monologue: "Clearly, we really needed him." He said, looking back to Banda. "He revolutionized so much—from innovation to even making space travel and automatic weaponry possible… But regardless… I'll deal with him later. Right now, it's up to me to win the war.")

The commander stepped forward.

"RIGHT!!!!"

He barked, sending a shockwave to every end of the room.

"Huuuh!" Khumalo said, nearly having a heart attack, as he looked toward Makhaza—only to see him covering his ears.

"Twazwe is a smaller country than ours. Losing this pointless war will only result in shame… and shame is the one thing we can't bring upon the pride of our nation," the commander said with a commanding tone.

"The plan will be simple," Mwansa interrupted.

"Makhaza… I'm gonna need you to run around the battlefield barefoot," Mutale said with a devious expression on his face.

.

**Meanwhile: Lusaka City

(Zambian Defence Society)**

Inside the spherical skyscraper hidden deep in a forest, the land was swept in calm and silence, comforted by the soothing light of the moon high in the clear sky.

"The place is quiet… nearly too quiet," said the Society's president, alongside a clumsy young man with brown kinky hair and round glasses.

"Quiet? Well, yeah—it is inside a forest."

(Inner monologue: "INSIDE a forest? What kind of sentence is that? Why didn't I say it's located in a forest? What if he wanted a metaphorical answer? Why isn't he saying anything anymore? I'm such an idiot.")

"Why are you so nervous?" said the Society's president, Mr. Don Chipego Mwinga, with a calm smile.

"Errrr—I'm not nervous!" yelled Misozi, his clumsy young assistant, nearly dropping his glasses.

(Inner monologue: "HE NOTICED!!!!")

"Calm down. Life is fleeting, so it's good to take advantage of the little moments," he said as a calm breeze swept the trees.

"Right," Misozi agreed, as they viewed the vast expanse of endless trees and sky from the top balcony.

"Sir…" said a tall soldier as he stepped out of the elevator.

"Errr, Mr. Mwinga, what's up?" Mr. Don said.

"He can be so casual yet wise," Misozi thought.

"Sorry to disturb your moment of peace, sir," Mr. Mwinga said.

"No need. It's good to check up on old friends every once in a while," Mr. Don replied.

"I have word coming straight from the battlefield," Mr. Mwinga added with subtle urgency.

"And what's that?" Mr. Don asked.

"The battlefield…" Misozi whispered.

"It's pretty much time," Mr. Mwinga said.

"So soon… wild," Mr. Don laughed.

"Let it be. I want to enjoy my moment of peace."

"Hahaha… Mr. Don, classic," Misozi said—only to notice Mr. Mwinga wasn't smiling.

"Right, right—heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy sir, wait for me!" he ran after him.

.

Meanwhile: The Battlefield

("LET'S GOO!!!!!!" "EYYYY!")

Mutale yelled as soldiers formed a clustered square formation, each wearing a red headband. Makhaza and Mutale stood up front, the commander standing alone with a red headband as well.

The field was clear—no dust, no fighting—leaving Twazwe forces confused by the sudden stance.

(Drums from the Zambian forces echoed from the forest.)

The soldiers bent down on their knees, ready to run—barefoot.

The Twazwe commander general raised his hand.

"GOOOOOOOOOOO!" yelled the Zambian commander general, his voice sending a massive shockwave across the battlefield.

"GOOOOOO!" the Twazwe commander general screamed back.

The Twazwe commander general simply stood in observation , as he raised him hand , signaling the Twazwe forces to eventually begin their attack forward .

.

" GOOOOOOOOOOOO " Yelled the Zambian commander general , his voice sending a massive shockwave throughout the battlefield.... Intimidating many of the Twazwe forces , " GOOOOOO" the Twazwe commander general scram emiting a similar shockwave as the Twazwe forces all ran in bulk , yet on the Zambian side , only Mutale and Makhaza were running towards the field.

"What? Just the two of them? Why aren't the rest attacking?" the Twazwe commander general said.

Mutale clapped his palms, launching Makhaza high into the air.flipping in mid air .... and Mutale running through the Twazwe Army as they're focus was on Makhaza eventually

Both landing towards the Commander general , with Makhaza landing a direct kick ( BASHH ) to his face and Mutale hitting hard In the gut with a straight jet kick . ( BAAAAA!!!!!! ) As he scoffed blood from his mouth eventually leading him to fall on his knees as Makhaza and khumalo ran fast right past him ....And the Zambian army attacking the Twazwe defenses while cought off guard .

.

( Ahhhhhhhhhhhh: was the battle cry )

.

" Gooooooo " Mutale and Makhaza yelled as they reached near the tent , with sudden missile launches coming at them , with Makhaza and Mutale dodging them assisting each other ...with flips and projecting each other high into the air dodging each attack .....

.

( BOOOOOMMMMMMMM ) Makhaza suddenly got hit while In the air , completely catching Mutale off guard . '' Ahhhhhhhh crapppppppppppppp nooooowwwwwwwwwwww " Mutale yelled sending a shockwave to the Zambian defense as the faced the Twazwe defenses.

.

" Retreat !!!!!! " They yelled running back and creating a rounder cluster....with Mutale and Makhaza back infront of them again. " Teleportation did come In handy " Makhaza said .

.

" NOWWW GOOOOO " all them attacked this time in the same clustered formation . As the Twazwe army pushed foward but was confused and overwhelmed as to how exactly they were going to attack

.

The Twazwe commander general stood . " that was they're plan , not using technology and just going in raw.... bastards" as Mutale as makhaza appeared to him again about to launch the same attack . Which be barely dodged ....but grabbed

Hold of Mutale leg.... about flip him and bang him on the floor on for Mutale to be teleported mid by Makhaza , whose teleported down and Makhaza lands a straight Jet kick into his gut and landing a hard knee to his face ... forcing him to kneel down.

.

" Crapppppppppppppp , what madness is this , what the hell is nonsense !!!!!! " the commander Yelled.

.

YUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP " yelled the Zambian commander general. " Cryyyyyyyyyyy "

.

.

As the entire army retreated back forging another square cluster. With Mutale and Makhaza front again.....( BYOOOOOMMM!!!!!!! ) both of them begun to run and push forward.

.

As Makhaza was slingshot foward again by Mutale Hard .

.

"'MAKHAZA!!!!!!!!!" ( Cheers )

.

" CRAPPPP " He yelled ( BAMMMMMM ). he received a massive fist to his face from the Zambian commander general that pushed him back till he laid flat on the floor.

.

" Mutale , goooo , now " He said to Mutale handing him a spherical object as he begun to fast towards twaze tent " AFTER HIMM " the Twazwe commander general yelled as mwansa was met with a crusade of impending missiles and soldiers behind him

.

( BAAMMMMM ) the Twazwe commander general was bashed...which forced to evidently stand and launch a fist towards the Zambian commander general who evidently caught it mid air causing a massive crack on the ground as both Commanders faced each other in the eye .

.

.

" It ends here " The Zambian commander general said .

.

.

.

Meanwhile: (Twazwe Central Military Base)

"Roderick… take this seriously," the Twazwe president yelled.

"Take what seriously?" Roderick replied.

"The war."

"Oh. Right. I forgot."

"RODERICK!!!!!! DO NOT TEST MY PATIENCE!"

"Kill me then," Roderick said coldly.

"Lose the war you started."

The president immediately received an emergency transmission from his ear piece ( BOOM : he heard a background explosion from the piece )

"We're losing the war!" yelled a soldier from the back of the piece " we need immediate back up , NOW !!! " ( The transmission was cut , living the president in fraustrated in silence)

"Oh… I see," Roderick smiled.

.

" What now" the president faintly asked

"Time to use my baby , my very own version of compression and extinction " Roderick casually said as he made his way foward.

.

.

Meanwhile: Banda stood in a dark room , silent , calm with only a faint light coming from a lamp that sat next to a table with messy paper work

.
