Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"I killed you in less than 10 seconds," Ron said flatly, giving her a sidelong glance.

"How is that possible? My health was still full?" Tang Rou asked in disbelief.

Realizing she's an actual noob and doesn't understand a thing, Ron decided to explain. "I used an instant kill skill to eliminate you. It's an awakened class skill called Vital Strike, where I traded a chunk of my HP to take yours," he said. "Here, take a look at this."

While talking, Ron actually maneuvers to his saved recording and is now making his way through the replay where he instantly kills Tang Rou.

"Excuse me then..." Little Tang leaned her head to sneak a peek at Ron's screen. Pressing a few keys, he finally forwarded the replay into a frame where his character burst Little Tang's Chasing Haze.

"Here, can you see this?" Ron asked while pointing at the HP of his character, who was in a state of animation. After executing a vital strike, he only had a little 5% health remaining.

Which means Ron exchanges about 80% of his health to kill Tang Rou; it's a high-risk, high-reward move. Normally the damage wouldn't be enough for a trade since he takes the heat-seeking missile, so Chasing Haze should have a little HP left, but there's a secret about that. Ron didn't explain it; after all, it's his trump card.

"I see..." Tang Rou heads back into her seat and glances blankly at the screen. She still found it unbelievable.

"Do you want to have another match?" Ron asked politely.

But Tang Rou simply shook her head. Although she was tempted, she learned a lesson from Ye Xiu. "No, I'm good. Thanks."

"Okay, I'll be leaving first." Ron stands up and politely bows before heading back into his rental room on the second floor.

Once he's gone, Chen Guo stares at Ye Xiu. He predicted that it would be over in less than 10 seconds, so she was hoping he would give some answer.

Sensing her gaze, he just looks in return and asks. "What is it, boss?"

"What is it, my ass! You said that it would be over in ten seconds, and it just happened to come true, so I wanted some explanation," Chen Guo protested.

But Ye Xiu simply smiles. "What is there to explain? He almost said everything else," he said.

"You said 'almost,' so there's much more to it, right? Tell me!" She demanded.

Ye Xiu just sighed helplessly. "Okay then, let's check the replay," he said.

Tang Rou moves to the side, giving Ye Xiu the control over her computer. Chen Guo also stands behind Tang Rou to see what's going on.

After checking the frames on replay, Ye Xiu paused the video where No Name used Vital Strike to instantly kill Chasing Haze. It was the same frame Ron used in his explanation earlier.

"Did you guys notice anything strange in here?" Ye Xiu asked them while pointing at the No Name, to be precise, at Chasing Haze's chest, the location where Ron stabs her heart.

The two girls exchanged glances. Tang Rou was a newbie; she didn't understand the game deeply, so it's understandable that she would seek Guo Guo for guidance. However, Chen Guo didn't notice anything strange.

She felt somehow embarrassed as a 5-year veteran player. She swore you, Xiu, would receive a beating later.

Ye Xiu didn't pry into their mind any longer and proceeded with his explanation. He zooms the picture and focuses on the dagger. "It's a silver weapon."

"Silver weapon!?" Chen Guo blurted aloud. It was her turn to be surprised. She narrows her eyes at the dagger and recalls every weapon available in the shop in the heavenly domain exclusive to assassins, comparing every single one and not being able to find a comparison. She agrees that it is truly a silver weapon, a self-made weapon!

In Glory they have a saying: a self-made weapon isn't necessarily the best, but the best weapon must be self-made.

The silver weapon was created using the equipment editor and rare materials. Although the equipment editor was available to every player, only a few of the player base could use it. The self-made weapon was considered late-game content; the best part about it was that players could create equipment to their liking and play style. These were often used in pro matches.

"Wasn't he a trainee? How come he had a silver weapon!?" Chen Guo exclaimed, "Then, could he be an Excellent Era ace player!?"

Hearing her nonsense blabbering, Ye Xiu just asked, "What are you talking about, boss? A new ace player from the Excellent Era?"

Guo Guo only stared daggers at him. "Hmph! You don't understand! Wasn't he a trainee from team Excellent Era?"

Understanding her misunderstanding, Ye Xiu just laughs lightly, irritating Guo Guo further. "Haha! Boss, I think you misunderstood something," he said.

"Misunderstood what?" she asked in puzzlement.

"Actually, take a look at this first," he said and pointed at Ron's character. "His silver equipment wasn't limited to weapons. Each piece of his equipment was also self-made."

"What did you say!?" Chen Guo was shocked; her eyes widened in disbelief, and her jaw dropped on the floor. She grabs the monitor frame and closes her pretty face on the screen as she checks the No Name's equipment.

There's nothing in that heavenly domain; just like his weapon, his other equipment was also silver.

"What is this? Isn't this basically a God-level account?" She said, staring at the screen in awe. "Trainee her ass! Perhaps she might be a secret weapon."

"Tsk. Tsk."

Hearing someone click his tongue, Guo Guo got irritated and glared at Ye Xiu.

"What!?" she grumbled.

"I told you, boss, you misunderstood," Ye Xiu said. "He is neither a trainee nor a secret weapon. In fact, he wasn't even a pro player."

"What? Then why did he have a complete set of silver equipment?" She found that a normal person would have the resources to have that God-level account without a backer. However, Ye Xiu only stares at her as if looking at an idiot child.

Seeing his mocking gaze, she felt insulted and embarrassed. "What is it?"

But Ye Xiu only shook his head and said, "It's nothing." He wanted to say his One Autumn Leaf, who almost had a full set of silver equipment (badge exception), also started from scratch. Besides, Ron's card was from server 1, so he didn't find it surprising.
