Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Battle Armor (Temu Version)?

After a quick glance, Wang Teng knew that the inventory had 32 slots, enough to hold 32 items. He wondered if identical items could be stacked.

In the inventory, Wang Teng saw the five pieces of light armor and the short crossbow he had bought earlier.

He then dragged all six items directly into the equipment slot.

Suddenly, Wang Teng felt his body become heavier, clearly due to the weight of the equipment. Fortunately, it was only light armor, not very heavy; if it were heavy armor, his speed would definitely be drastically reduced.

"But where's my equipment? Where did it go? Why isn't it working?"

Thinking this, a set of armor appeared on Wang Teng's body, and a short crossbow immediately appeared in his hand.

"Uh~!"

Looking at the armor and weapon, Wang Teng felt that this thing could be a substitute for the battle armor from later generations of Douluo Continent.

No, it should be called a system version of battle armor. After all, battle armor can amplify a Soul Master's strength, and so can this equipment. Moreover, only top-tier battle armor can be stored within the body, while the system's equipment, even the trash, will do.

"Is this a temu version of battle armor?" Wang Teng wondered.

After fiddling with it for a while, Wang Teng basically understood the function of the equipment slot. After equipping the gear, it could be stored inside his body at any time without affecting his daily life.

When needed, it could be instantly resurrected.

Moreover, the size of the armor he wore perfectly matched his body. In addition, the armor could also amplify his defense. Wang Teng felt that after wearing this set of Sprout Light Armor, his physical defense was more than doubled, and that didn't even include the armor's own defense.

With the armor and the short crossbow, Wang Teng was full of confidence for his upcoming dungeon adventure.

Of course, Wang Teng didn't rush in. He put away the armor and began to familiarize himself with the short crossbow in his hand.

Although the short crossbow in his hand didn't look very impressive, it was indeed a soul tool. Of course, it was a soul tool with pitifully low power.

He injected soul power, and five arrows composed of soul power condensed in the short crossbow.

Then, Wang Teng aimed the short crossbow at the floor.

"Pfft!"

A soft sound rang out, and an arrow burst forth from the crossbow, embedding itself in the ground with a condensed soul power arrowhead.

A moment later, the soul power arrow dissipated, leaving only a small dent in the floor.

"Uh... this power isn't even as great as a regular crossbow!" Wang Teng had seen the power of ordinary crossbows before; although their firing speed was slower, their power surpassed that of his own soul-guided crossbow.

After several more attempts, Wang Teng discovered that the soul-guided crossbow wasn't without its advantages.

It consumed little energy, had a high rate of fire, and could fire in rapid succession.

With his current level 9 soul power, Wang Teng could condense dozens of soul power arrows. Although their power wasn't as great as the first soul skill of other first-ring offensive soul masters, the difference wasn't significant; one more shot would suffice.

If Wang Teng were to fight an ordinary first-ring battle soul master now, he would undoubtedly win.

After all, Wang Teng had a significant advantage in terms of attack frequency and soul power consumption.

A first-ring soul master would run out of soul power after just a few soul skills, while Wang Teng's soul power arrows could fire dozens of times – a number that was overwhelming.

Moreover, the arrows from the short crossbow traveled extremely fast, too fast for ordinary soul masters to react to.

"Excellent, I'll test it out in the dungeon later!"

Immediately, Wang Teng began meditating to recover his previously depleted soul power. He had consumed a considerable amount of his already limited soul power while testing the short crossbow, and the recovery potions in the system shop cost money. Since he could recover on his own, Wang Teng naturally wouldn't waste his energy on potions.

After a long while, his soul power was fully restored. Carrying the short crossbow, fully armored, Wang Teng prepared to enter the dungeon.

After thinking for a moment, Wang Teng used his remaining gold soul coins to buy two entry-level recovery potions – one HP recovery potion and one MP recovery potion – just in case!

Opening the dungeon panel, Wang Teng looked at the two dungeons, Loran and Loran Depths, and directly clicked on the Loran dungeon.

'Lets see, pick the weakest one!'

Immediately, Wang Teng's figure disappeared from the room.

...

In the Loran dungeon, a fully armed figure appeared. However, this figure looked rather small, somewhat comical. Upon appearing in the Loran dungeon, Wang Teng began to survey his surroundings.

Contrary to his expectations, Wang Teng had thought there would be many monsters shouting to kill him! Unexpectedly, he couldn't see any monsters.

The Loran dungeon was filled with towering trees, but because they weren't very dense, the bright sunlight shone on the grass, creating a somewhat peaceful atmosphere.

However, just as Wang Teng was admiring the pleasant environment, something unpleasant happened. Three goblins appeared in the distance.

The goblins were short, not much taller than the 6-year-old Wang Teng. Wang Teng estimated that the goblins were only about 1.4 meters tall.

With pointed ears, long noses, and heads as large as their chests, they looked quite comical. Moreover, these three goblins were all bald, sporting large green heads and wearing drab gray rags around their waists. If it weren't for their fierce expressions, Wang Teng would have almost burst out laughing.

Their skin was a vibrant green, almost the same color as the grass, and Wang Teng might not have noticed them from a distance if he hadn't had excellent eyesight.

As Wang Teng observed the three goblins, they also spotted him fully armed.

Instantly, the three goblins, shouting in an unknown goblin language, charged towards Wang Teng, wielding large, sharp-pointed wooden clubs.

Seeing the three goblins rushing towards him, Wang Teng didn't let his guard down. He channeled his soul power into his short crossbow, condensing five soul power arrows.

Then, he raised the crossbow and aimed at the goblin running in the lead.

50 meters...40 meters...30 meters...at just 30 meters, Wang Teng pulled the trigger of his crossbow.

An arrow flew out, instantly striking the chest of the goblin charging at the front.

*Thud* The sound of an arrow piercing flesh rang out; half of the arrow was embedded in the goblin's chest.

Bright red blood bloomed on the goblin's body, and it collapsed to the ground. Clearly, the goblin's defenses were weak; it had been severely wounded by a single arrow.

Although this goblin wasn't killed outright, it was no longer capable of fighting. After firing the first arrow, Wang Teng didn't hesitate for a moment, immediately aiming his crossbow at the next goblin.

*Thud* *Thud*

Two more arrows were fired; one struck the goblin in the shoulder, and the other hit its chest, instantly rendering it incapacitated.

Seeing the situation was dire, the last goblin, having fallen alongside the two that had charged, let out a yelp and immediately turned and fled!
