Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Ainz's father is here

Iri didn't know how long she had been asleep. When she opened her eyes again, she could see things clearly.

She was currently submerged in a glass-like container. Although she could open her eyes and see things, and also hear, her body still couldn't move.

The scene was still that nauseating place with a ceiling and walls made of flesh. At first, Iri was quite disgusted when she arrived, but now she felt nothing of the sort.

"She's looking at me, she's looking at me... Good child, quickly call me Mama." Albedo, in front of her, looked at her with a loving gaze. Uh... though Iri really wanted to complain that if she wasn't completely unable to move and could only look straight ahead, no one would intentionally look at her!

"I'm the Mama! Albedo, get lost!" Shalltear, standing beside Albedo, also looked at Iri with an ominous gaze.

Iri was annoyed by these two for a reason. Ever since Iri could open her eyes, these two would almost daily come to her and quarrel, sometimes even coming to blows. Once, they almost shattered the glass container.

Fortunately, Demiurge arrived in time, otherwise she would have been truly finished. According to Demiurge, she couldn't leave this container until she was fully grown. Basically, she would die upon exposure to light. Only after that incident did the two of them become a bit more restrained. Although they no longer resorted to physical fights, they still continued to bicker.

"You eight-gilled creature, Anzi and my child clearly resembles me more!" Albedo said, extremely displeased, black mist already beginning to emanate from her.

"Big-mouthed ape, shut up! She clearly resembles me more!!" Shalltear also looked very unconvinced.

Uh... Judging from the content of these two's bickering, at least she still looked somewhat human. After all, if she could resemble a beautiful girl of Albedo or Shalltear's caliber, her current appearance shouldn't be too bad... She just didn't know if she would truly transform into an eight-gilled creature or a big-mouthed ape... Iri thought to herself.

"She also looks quite like older sister..." Mare, who knows when, also stood in front of the container and said, looking at Iri.

"Her eyes are very much like mine, also heterochromatic." Aura also arrived.

It seems I also have a pair of chuunibyou-like heterochromatic eyes. This is great. Can I confidently shout, 'Is it awakening?! My right eye!' Such embarrassing lines? Iri thought.

"But... I don't quite understand, didn't Demiurge say it could be adjusted? Why make her look like this?" Mare asked, looking at Iri in the container with great curiosity.

Huh?

Is there anything strange about her appearance?

Since she inherited the looks of Albedo and Shalltear, and also Aura, her appearance shouldn't be too bad, right?

Wait a minute!

She remembered it was said that she was cultivated from the organization of all the Guardians. Judging from the conversation just now, she already had the appearance characteristics of Albedo and Shalltear, as well as the heterochromatic eyes of Aura and Mare.

So what are Insect Lord's characteristics? Does she have four arms?

What about Demiurge? That demon tail??

Victim? Little wings??

She imagined her own image... She felt it was so bizarre!!

No matter what, it was still better than a little skeleton. Little wings and a tail were acceptable, but four arms... she still felt a bit resistant to that!

It's not that she dislikes Insect Lord Cocytus! It's just... it's just... well! She just dislikes Insect Lord's appearance, so what! Iri thought to herself.

"Demiurge had his considerations for adjusting her to look like this. I heard it was also Anzi's intention," Albedo turned around and answered Mare's question.

"If it's Anzi's intention, then it's fine. Anzi is always correct," Mare said.

"The far-sighted Anzi must have had his reasons for making our child resemble a human," Albedo added.

Iri didn't miss that last sentence. Resembles a human? It seems she doesn't have four arms or a demon tail. A normal human appearance!!

Hooray!! Long live Anzi! Long live God!! Upon receiving this important information, Iri couldn't help but get excited...

Who knows how much time passed, or how many times she watched Albedo and Shalltear bicker in front of her.

Although Aura and Mare also often came to see her, even Insect Lord Cocytus and Little Angel Victim would secretly come to see her when no one was around. Demiurge also frequently came to her and smiled meaningfully.

But there was one person who never came to see her, and that was her creator, and the person she most wanted to see, Anzi!

She wanted to see Anzi! She wanted to see Anzi!

Iri was now idly muttering to herself. Her current situation was still that she could see and hear, but she just couldn't move. Now, no one was coming to see her, and she was quite bored, so she could only mutter like this.

However, her muttering seemed to work. Suddenly, a black vortex opened in the space before her eyes. Iri naturally knew what that was; it was a teleportation gate. It seemed someone was coming to see her.

Who would it be today?

Just as Iri was guessing who it might be, a massive black figure, a black figure Iri had never seen before, emerged from the teleportation gate!

It's Anzi!!!

Iri finally saw him with her own eyes! Anzi! The Anzi she had longed for day and night!!

Although he was a colossal skeletal figure, Iri felt no fear at all. He looked even more majestic than in the anime! Anzi!! Although she knew Anzi's true nature was a bit of a goofball! Iri thought to herself.

However, not only Anzi came, but Albedo, Demiurge, and all the other Guardians also came. Hmm! Just Anzi coming to see her was satisfying enough, but the other Guardians coming felt quite in the way! Let me be alone with Anzi!! Iri shouted in her heart.

"Is it ready, Demiurge?" Anzi asked with full authority.

Although he looked full of authority, Anzi must be panicking inside when he sees her now, right? After all, Iri knows Anzi's true nature.

"Yes, Anzi, your child can now be born," Demiurge answered respectfully from the side, while Albedo and Shalltear looked excited.

It seems she can finally "be born"? Can she come out of this glass jar? This is great. But how should she react once she's out?

Anzi must be completely bewildered right now, surely wondering when he got a child. If that's the case, then she'll just go along with Demiurge's wishes and play the role of Anzi's child! Iri thought to herself.

Watching the water level in the glass jar that held her gradually recede, Iri also slowly regained control of her body.

She could move... Her hands could move... Her legs could move, but having been still for so long, she felt a bit clumsy. After the water level receded, the glass that enclosed her also disappeared with a sound.

Perhaps because she had been still for too long, as soon as the glass disappeared, Iri, who had been supporting herself against the glass, suddenly lost her support and fell forward.

She landed right on an incredibly hard large hand. Iri struggled to lift her head and saw a massive skeletal face looking down at her. It turned out Anzi had caught her before she fell!

Seeing Anzi's skeletal face up close... it's truly amazing!!

Oh, oh... Don't just admire Anzi. She should play her role well. Thinking this, Iri... quite unskillfully uttered her first words since arriving in the world of Overlord.

"Fa... Father..."
