Chapter 705 Found Him!!

Harry spoke apologetically.

Darren quickly shook his head.

Then he stared at the nameplate on the door. After a moment, he turned to Sirius and asked excitedly,

"Sirius… who is Regulus?"

"Sirius's brother," Harry answered, confused. "He used to be a Death Eater…"

Harry walked over, intending to pull Darren away. He was worried Sirius might be upset.

But when he saw the name on the door, he froze.

Regulus Arcturus Black.

"R.A.B.!"

Harry shouted.

At that moment, Hermione and Ron came upstairs as well. They had come to call them for breakfast, but when they saw the scene, they immediately understood.

"Let's go in! We should check his room!" Hermione said urgently.

"He was a Death Eater. He must have known something about Voldemort's weaknesses!"

She reached for the door.

But Darren stopped her.

He closed his eyes, as if thinking.

Then suddenly, he raised his wand and drew a silver thread from his temple.

A memory.

The image unfolded before them.

It showed Kreacher's cupboard—where a locket had once been carefully hidden.

Darren's expression filled with pain.

"Why didn't I remember earlier… Then Dumbledore wouldn't have had to…"

He looked guilty and distressed.

Hermione quickly hugged him.

"None of us thought of it."

"Yes," Ron said. "No one remembered."

"Then let's go check now!" Harry said urgently. "Maybe it's still there!"

They pulled Darren along and ran toward Kreacher's cupboard.

Behind them, Sirius stood there in confusion.

"What are you all talking about? Aren't you eating?"

"Just wait!"

They rushed down the stairs and reached the cupboard.

But when they opened it—

Only piles of old rags remained.

All the valuable and decorative items were gone.

Even the Black family's golden crest had disappeared.

"Who did this?!"

Harry shouted angrily.

"Find Kreacher," Darren said immediately.

Harry nodded.

To question Kreacher, Sirius had to give the order.

Sirius still looked puzzled.

"What exactly are you all doing? Fine… Kreacher! I order you to obey them!"

Since Dumbledore's death, Darren had effectively become the leader of the Order of the Phoenix. Sirius didn't ask further.

For some reason, he always felt a faint pressure when facing Darren.

Just like when he had faced Dumbledore.

Now Darren crouched down in front of Kreacher.

"Kreacher," he asked gently, "what happened to the locket that was thrown away two years ago?"

Kreacher looked at them resentfully.

But he still answered.

"The young master threw away many things of the old house… medals and treasures… including the locket Master Regulus left to Kreacher."

"I know," Darren said. "But didn't you collect them again? Where are they now?"

Kreacher fell silent.

Then he closed his eyes.

"…Taken."

Harry jumped.

"Taken? Who would dare steal from here?!"

Kreacher's face twisted with pain.

"Mundungus. He took everything… two years ago, the night the young master disappeared.

"He broke in and stole everything. Kreacher tried to stop him, but he said Kreacher was helping the Dark Lord and would be punished by the young master…"

"He kicked Kreacher… and took the Black family crest, Mistress's gloves… Miss Narcissa's portrait… and your Order of Merlin, First Class…"

Before he could finish—

Bang!

Kreacher was knocked to the ground.

Harry had slammed his fist against the wall in rage.

Because Kreacher had pointed at Darren while mentioning the stolen medal.

"Brother, calm down," Darren quickly said, grabbing him.

Harry's eyes were red.

"That night… he thought you were dead when you fell through the Veil. While everything was in chaos, he came and looted the house. That bastard!"

Darren gave a soft laugh.

"I know Mundungus is unreliable. That's why when we went to pick Harry up last time, I deliberately placed him in the most dangerous position. I knew he would run."

"At least now we don't have to work with him anymore… Although if I say that, you'll probably think I'm calculating and cold."

"Don't be ridiculous," Harry said immediately.

"You're not cold at all."

"Anyone in the Order would have done the same," Hermione added.

"You're the kindest person we know," Ron said seriously.

Darren seemed reassured.

Then he turned back to Kreacher.

Kreacher was still lying on the floor, trembling.

Darren helped him up.

Then he knelt down and hugged the house-elf.

"Kreacher… I'm sorry. I didn't know the truth back then. If we had known, you wouldn't have been left alone to deal with everything."

He took out a folded piece of parchment.

"Look at this. You should recognize it."

It was the note left inside the fake locket.

The moment Kreacher saw it, he burst into tears.

"Master Sirius is a bad boy… he ran away… so Master Regulus inherited the Black name…"

"Master Regulus secretly collected information about the Dark Lord. He admired the Dark Lord at first… and joined the Death Eaters for the honor of the family…"

Kreacher sobbed harder.

"He was a good boy… a good boy…"

His trembling eyes lifted toward Darren.

"…Just like young Master Darren Potter."
