I woke to the soft hush of Mordred's breathing, the morning light slipping through the half-drawn blinds in pale gold ribbons.
He was still asleep, one arm flung over my waist, the other tucked beneath his pillow.
The hard lines of his face had melted away in sleep, no scowl or guarded eyes, just a boyish softness that made my chest ache in a way I hadn't expected.
His lashes cast faint shadows on his cheeks. A lock of dark hair had fallen across his forehead, and the faint stubble along his jaw caught the light like frost.
God… he looked unfairly beautiful.His lips slightly parted, as he stirred a bit. And I melted pathetically to the sight.
"How did I get this lucky?" I muttered under my breath to myself, as I traced the slope of his nose with my gaze.
I must've stared too long because his eyes fluttered open suddenly, still sleepy but really attractive and landed on me.
A slow, crooked smile tugged at his lips.
