Chapter 45 - [45]: Thoughts on the Club

After lunch, Akira continued to review the knowledge from the second semester of his first year of university.

After class, the sociology teacher Nakamura, dressed in a suit, called out to Akira, who was resting, and asked him to come to his office.

Teacher Nakamura, whose name was Nakamura Yu, was in charge of Modern Sociology, a subject Akira was quite interested in, so he had a slightly better relationship with the teacher.

Moreover, in his memory, Teacher Nakamura had taken good care of his past self.

When he walked into the office, Akira saw Teacher Nakamura sitting at his desk with his legs crossed, reviewing a document.

"Teacher, is there something you need?"

Teacher Nakamura looked up, scanned Akira, and then a mysterious smile appeared on his face.

"Akira, how has university life been for you lately?"

Teacher Nakamura's question was ambiguous.

"It's been pretty good. I feel quite fulfilled."

Indeed, after Akira transmigrated, he had either been working part-time or studying hard for the mid-term exams.

To get through the vulnerable period of the early transmigration, he had worked hard for over half a month.

But now things were much better. With top-tier skills, he had the ability to develop slowly.

"You seem to have become much more cheerful lately."

Teacher Nakamura looked at Akira and said, "Akira, are you in love?"

"Teacher Nakamura doesn't mean to criticize you. He's just concerned about your social relationships. After all, he is your teacher."

Teacher Nakamura knew about Akira's parents being deceased, so he paid more attention to this student who might have poor mental health.

After all, he had encountered more than one student who developed psychological problems due to their parents' deaths.

It felt like the parents of characters in anime were always unsafe.

Akira lightly covered his forehead, sensing Teacher Nakamura's gossip.

It was a bit inexplicable, yet also made sense in a Japanese anime plot.

"If anything happens, you must tell Teacher Nakamura, understood?"

As he said that, Teacher Nakamura lightly nudged Akira with his elbow.

"I quite like your lively appearance now, Akira."

Akira hesitated for a moment, then asked Teacher Nakamura, "Teacher, could you do me a favor?"

"Hm?"

"It's about a club."

"Do you want to join a club? Although the application period for clubs has passed, I can still help you with an internal application."

Teacher Nakamura said this without hesitation.

Akira shook his head. "It's not about joining a club, but about starting a club."

"Because the school requires the help of an advisor to start a club, I hope you can be the advisor for our club."

"Starting a club?"

Teacher Nakamura was stunned for a moment, and a curious yet pleased smile appeared on his handsome face.

"I can agree to that, but there are strict requirements for club applications."

Teacher Nakamura rubbed his palm, then pressed down on the armrest of his chair.

"Although our school doesn't have mandatory requirements for students' club life, that doesn't mean the establishment of clubs and club activities can be done haphazardly."

"Could you tell me what kind of club you want to establish?"

"A club that can do all sorts of things."

"How greedy."

"So what can you do, Akira?"

Teacher Nakamura's voice became stricter.

"I can cook, tutor, and I've dabbled in everything," Akira said confidently. "Any skill students want to learn, I can teach them for free."

"So what is your purpose? Is it to impart the joy of knowledge, or simply to show off?"

Teacher Nakamura leaned back slightly, resting against the back of his chair. Although his voice was low, his presence grew stronger.

Of course, it's to gain experience in teaching skills.

Akira thought to himself, but such a thing could not be spoken aloud.

So Akira organized his words and replied, "Of course, it's to experience a colorful university life."

"Teacher Nakamura, my brief university life has made me realize one thing. It's impossible to be happy by isolating myself and living in my own world. Only by stepping out of my self-created comfort zone and witnessing more of life's myriad forms can I truly gain clarity and achieve peace of mind."

"So, Teacher Nakamura, I'm not going to be a slacker anymore."

"What were you doing after school before?" Teacher Nakamura asked curiously, though he probably already had the answer in his heart.

"Working part-time."

"As expected."

Teacher Nakamura nodded. "So you don't need to work part-time now?"

Akira hesitated for a moment, then replied, "I need to spend time with my girlfriend, and I've found a new way to make money."

Teacher Nakamura's face was once again filled with a satisfied smile, like a jerboa hopping around in a sandy field.

"So it's because of love."

He already had the understanding of an adult.

"No, it's a cute girl from another university."

Akira interrupted his guess without hesitation.

"He actually added the modifier 'cute' on his own."

Teacher Nakamura nodded slightly. "It seems Akira really cares."

Teacher Nakamura no longer dwelled on the matter. He probably understood Akira's personality, and his previous questions were just routine.

Moreover, this added another layer of assurance, allowing him to understand this student better.

"I can be your advisor, but you'll have to find the club members yourself. Any problems with that?"

"No."

"Oh, what's the name of the club?"

Teacher Nakamura suddenly remembered.

Akira sighed apologetically. "I haven't thought of one yet."

"How about 'General Affairs Department'?" Teacher Nakamura decided.

"Teacher, your naming sense is so lame, and it sounds like a school department, not a club at all."

It turned out Teacher Nakamura was just as bad at naming as he was.

The two argued about the club name for a long time.

In the end, it was difficult to choose from various incredibly corny names.

"So, let's talk about it once you've found the club members."

Teacher Nakamura crossed his legs. "I can't stand your corny names."

"Your names aren't much better, okay?"

Akira complained. The two naming-challenged individuals were kindred spirits.

But such talent couldn't be used for the club. The name still had to be a pleasant one.

If all else failed, he would just copy the "Service Club" from the other world. That club name sounded pretty good.

It sounded much better than "General Affairs Department."

He walked out of the classroom and bumped into Murakami Kouki from his class.

"Sorry," Akira apologized.

Although there wasn't much interaction in class, the class atmosphere hadn't split into several small groups.

So Wakana's self-perceived inability to integrate was mostly psychological, which was why he was still quite polite to his classmates.

Murakami Kouki, who had been bumped, looked at Akira and smiled. "It's fine, it's fine. So it's Akira-kun."

Then he naturally invited him, "Murakami and Kashiwagi are going to get something to eat together. Akira-kun, would you like to join us?"

Murakami Kouki
